FORESTIS is located in a densely wooded area, 1,800 m above sea-level, with a view of the Dolomites. The area’s unique and outstanding natural character had already prompted the Austrian monarchy to establish a tuberculosis sanatorium at precisely this special site. FORESTIS lies in a sheltered sunny location on the southern slope of the Plose mountain in the South Tyrolean Alps, directly opposite the impressive massifs of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site. The extraordinarily pure Plose spring water, fresh mountain air, many sunny days and mild climate, where Adriatic currents meet air masses from the North, have a favourable effect upon the health and well-being.

Forestis Dolomites – My Third Stay Review 1. Length of Stay This was our third visit in three consecutive years with my husband and our dog. This time, we stayed for a total of five nights — three nights in the Tower Suite and two nights in the Penthouse. It’s hard to find a vacation destination more perfect than this, which is why we keep coming back. 2. Tower Suite & Penthouse – Worth it Both room types are exceptional. They are undeniably expensive, but they deliver an experience beyond their price. The level of detail makes you feel like: “Someone who truly understands luxury travel designed this place.” More than anything, the hotel feels incredibly comfortable and relaxing. ✔️ No carpets or rugs → You can instantly see how clean everything is ✔️ Windows fully open → Fresh mountain air, zero stuffiness Many luxury hotels focus on looking extravagant while sacrificing comfort, but this place offers pure relaxation. The Penthouse, with its private pool and sauna, feels almost impossible to top. This time, I also noticed the Penthouse amenities had been upgraded even further. They now provide cleanser, scrub, serum, and moisturizer — you could practically arrive with nothing. 3. Fantastic Dolomites Views from each room During our five-night stay, we only left the hotel for one single day. The hotel itself is the destination. It genuinely feels like lying in bed on top of a mountain peak. The biggest highlight of all is the view. Not once during the five days did the scenery look the same. ✔️ Crystal-clear Dolomites on sunny days ✔️ Dreamlike landscapes wrapped in clouds Every day brings a completely different atmosphere and emotion. Simply staring out the window became the greatest joy of the trip. 4. Amazing Dinners If the panoramic mountain view is the first reason we keep returning, the seven-course dinner is the second. Since this was our third visit, we’ve now experienced a total of twelve dinners — and not once did the menu feel repetitive. Every evening made us wonder: “What will tonight’s course be like?” The plating became even more artistic compared to last year, and we constantly found ourselves saying: “I can’t believe this ingredient can taste like this.” The chefs and servers explained every dish with genuine care and passion. The food quality has become even better, more refined, and more beautiful. There was only one thing I personally didn’t enjoy: a rice-based dessert that simply wasn’t my taste. 5. Staff who make us feel Truly Cared For The service at this hotel goes far beyond simple kindness. What amazed me most was their level of memory and consideration. ✔️ Because our dog was alone in the room, we didn’t want to leave him for too long. On the first day, we asked our server if dinner could be served a bit faster. They gladly accommodated us, and even when our assigned server changed later, every single dinner during the five days was still served quickly without us needing to ask again. We were incredibly grateful for that level of care. ✔️ During our previous stay last year, my husband and I usually shared just one cheese plate serving at the end of dinner because we preferred going back to the room quickly. This time, we skipped cheese four out of five dinners and only requested it once. We forgot to mention that one serving was enough for both of us. A few moments later, the server returned to double-check whether we wanted one or two cheese portions. At that moment, I genuinely wondered if the kitchen had remembered our habit from last year and asked the server to confirm it. It was honestly shocking that they seemed to remember even details from our previous visits. ✔️ Evenings at dinner, several top managers who remembered us personally came all the way to our table just to warmly greet us. It was especially touching because the restaurant was not even part of their main roles , and I thought it was already past their working hours. Moments like these make me feel that this hotel keeps improving because of the incredible people working there. Thank you as well for the beautiful flower gifts we received twice during our stay. We were also so happy to see Bruno and his wife still working at the restaurant. On our first evening, we heard Bruno was actually assigned to the bar, yet he still came personally to greet us at our table. Once again, we were deeply touched by the thoughtful and attentive care. At this point, it no longer feels like ordinary hospitality. It feels like a highly detailed and systematic level of guest care. 6. Truly Pet-Friendly hotel ✔️ One of the hotel’s biggest strengths is that dogs are allowed in all room categories without restrictions. The type of hotel I dislike most is one that forces guests with dogs into only certain room type. And honestly, those hotels usually have one thing in common: poor cleaning standards. However Forestis Dolomites is totally different. They don’t need “pet-only rooms.” because they clean everything thoroughly after each stay whether a room was used by humans only or together with a dog. It’s proof of an extremely high standard of cleanliness and management. That level of care creates trust and allows us to feel completely comfortable staying here every time. ✔️ The forest trails directly connected to the hotel are perfect for dog walks, filled with fresh alpine air and beautiful scenery. Both our dog and we enjoyed relaxing and exercising there. They even added a dog toilet area and waste bins near the trail entrance, which made things much more convenient than before. 7. Recommend strongly!! Honestly speaking, it’s incredibly difficult to find a hotel in Northern Italy better than Hotel Forestis Dolomites. There may be hotels with somewhat similar Dolomites views, but in every other aspect, nothing comes close to the quality of Hotel Forestis Dolomites. ✔️ The hotel itself is the attraction ✔️ The scenery changes magically every day ✔️ Dinner courses at an artistic level ✔️ A perfectly relaxing environment

The hotels key selling points from from my perspective are the view from the rooms, dining room and spa. The location right up on the mountain and the very stringent minimalist design. The drawback in winter are short days, so darkness engulfs the windows from around 5pm and the view from the dining table is a hugh pitch black window (at breakfast the sun is so strong it is advisable to bring sunglasses). For none skiers the options for longer hikes/walks in winter are restricted; I am sure this will be much different in summer. The design feels very contemporary, in tune with the surroundings and very consistent throughout the property. What did not work for us is the dining room set up. While we appreciate that it is meant to allow unrestricted view and privacy for every table, one can almost feel in isolation weren't it for the many waiters swarming around. We found the food solidly good but no exceptional dining experience and the service at times fussy. We understand why the prices are what they are but they also attract a certain clientele. I happily accept skiwear at the breakfast buffet but loose fitting gym shorts paired with a white rib tank top do not belong there

Forestis Dolomites is top notch across the board. From the moment I arrived, everything was dialed in. The setting is unreal, the architecture is thoughtful, and the atmosphere is calm, confident, and refined — luxury without being stiff. The staff truly makes the place special. Florian, Andreas, and Tomasso were excellent up front. Samuel and the entire front desk team were professional, warm, and on point throughout my stay. In the restaurant, Alice, Amadeo, and Davide delivered outstanding service — attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. Every meal was memorable. The food was exceptional, the spa experience was first-class, and the overall level of service was exactly what I expect from a world-class property. Every detail felt intentional, and everyone played a role in making the stay unforgettable. Forestis sets the bar high. I absolutely loved my stay and would return without hesitation.

Forestis is a one-of-a-kind experience and place. To call it a hotel doesn't suffice, as it's much more than that - it's an oasis, a refuge. It's a bit of trek to get to Forestis (we flew into Milan, and took a 4-hour ride to the property), but once you're there, you don't need to (and won't want to) leave at all. Our time there was a seamless experience - the staff were incredibly lovely, helpful, and kind, and every detail/suggestion from the team was extremely thoughtful. Our time was made all the better by Davide from the restaurant, Clemens from the ski valet, and the general manager, Günther's, remarkable care (he knew and personally greeted everyone who was staying at the hotel). It's rare to come to a place where every single category/department exceeded expectations and quality from service, rooms, spa, food, location and decor. The dining room was the most unique space I've ever eaten in - truly dining nature's theater. Forestis is a masterclass in hospitality - I rarely go back to a place twice as I like to explore and try out new things, but because of how special and exceptional Forestis is, I will definitely be coming back again. The price to stay here is what you would expect with staying at a 5-star hotel, however compared to other 5-star hotels/hotel chains, Forestis delivers value far beyond what it quotes. If you are looking for a true luxury experience, look no further and only consider Forestis in the Dolomites. Definitely recommend a 2-3 night stay - one day for unwinding at the spa, and another for exploring the general area (hiking, or in our case, skiing) Need to find an excuse to visit again soon!!

Forestis is absolutely spectacular and I would recommend anyone that can afford it to spend 2 nights or more at this hotel. The Hotel and its Staff deserves 6 out of 5 stars for the following highlights: 1 Star for the Architecture, Landscape and Nature. I don't think many hotels in the world can compete with the design (interior and exterior), the views of the Dolomitti mountain range and the access to nature. The scandinavian minimalistic design contrasted with the raw rugged nature of the dolomites is unlike anything i have seen. Calm and wild at the same time. 1 Star for the exceptional and attentive staff. All the staff were nice, attentive and it felt like they both cared about their job and their guests. I know the management and owners takes great care of the employees. Special Shoutout to Maria, Lorenzo, Luca, Sandra, Federico, Irene, Regine and many others who looked after us. 1 Star for the exceptional food, cocktails, wine list and breakfast. The breakfast is unlike anything I've ever tried - and combined with the panoramic view of the dolomites, the beans and french toast tasted as great as ever. The 4 - 7 course menu in the evening was also fantastic and borderline Michelin worthy. Lorenzo and Federico made some fabulous cocktails and the wine card was pretty stellar (will have to come back without a pregnant wife!). 1 Star for the Spa and Spa Personnel and also the Spa Guests. Everyone was quiet, respectful and clearly cared for their own and others desire to rest and relax. No loud adults, no excessive public affection. The SPA is so well designed both functionally and aesthetically and has a broad selection of Saunas and Ice Baths. Place was nice and tidy all day long. 1 Star for the Arrival and Departure procedure. I really don't know anything better than someone standing ready to welcome me, knowing my name, opening my doors and handling my luggage and car. From the moment we arrived to the moment departed Forestis, its staff and their operating procedures were executed absolutely flawless. 1 Star for the housekeeping staff. The place was absolutely spotless and pristine all the time. Rooms were nice and taken care of twice a day (during breakfast and dinner). Notes on our stay: We were a couple staying here in January 2026 (which i understood was off-season). There was snow, sunshine, and mild temperatures, which allowed us to make great use of both the indoor and outdoor facilities. We were not skiing so 2 days was decent enough for us, although i would have gladly stayed another night. From a value perspective i actually think FORESTIS delivers far more value than they charge for the rooms. Nominally yes, the rooms are expensive, but i will happily fork out that amount knowing what FORESTIS is about. The 7 course menu was definitely worth the 125 EUR. With that said, you have to be prepared (mentally and financially) to fork out at least 750 - 1500 EUR to have an F&B experience that matches your surroundings. We did the 7 course menu the first night and then a la carte the other night. Our Spa (baby moon) trip through Austria and the Dolomites counted SALTUS, FORESTIS and Naturhotel Forsthofgut (in that order). I am not reviewing the other hotels here and they are difficult to compare. But FORESTIS is the only of the 3 that i will come back to. Guaranteed. At FORESTIS I felt closer to heaven both physically, spiritually and mentally and i encourage anyone who needs a break to visit this place. Thanks PN
