The hotel is a stunning and very historic building located right by the water. The rooms are beautifully decorated in a classic style and were very clean. We had originally booked three nights, but ended up leaving earlier than planned. Unfortunately, the service did not match the charm of the property. The staff came across as arrogant and unhelpful from the very beginning. When we addressed our concerns with the manager, he reacted in an extremely rude, dismissive and uncooperative manner. The other reception staff behaved just as unfriendly and condescending. This was especially disappointing because we had been looking forward to staying at this beautiful hotel for a long time. Our room was cleaned by a very young student, who told me she only works there twice a week. She understandably did not know exactly, what was missing in the room or what needed to be cleaned. For a hotel in this price category, one expects trained, professional staff – not inexperienced students, who are left alone with tasks they cannot properly fulfill. I would also like to mention that the staff in question were not Belgian. Normally this would not matter at all, but in this case it felt as if they had no connection to the hotel and no real interest in making guests feel welcome. To make this hotel truly pleasant and attractive, the management and reception team would need a complete overhaul. To make matters worse, we ended up paying for one night we did not stay – another sign of the manager’s unacceptable attitude. For the prices charged here, the level of professionalism was far below expectations. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are many other places in Bruges where guests are genuinely welcomed and treated with respect.

We stayed here for one night as part of our quick trip to Bruges. Ideal location on the canal, a warm welcome, and consistently good service. The cosy lounge is a really nice spot to spend time in. Booking direct came with a few nice touches. Chocolates on arrival, a welcome drink - I had a glass of their excellent champagne. We were even sent off with biscuits at check out. Only niggle was the bathroom glass door and the automatic light that stayed on a bit too long during the night. Would happily stay again.

Gorgeous hotel with exceptional customer service and attention to detail. This was my second time staying here and I was throughly satisfied. The room was lovely, very romantic decor, like an escape back in time. Both the bed and the bedding were so comfortable and luxurious.

The hotel is located in a car-free area of Brugge, something I only realised when I was informed on arrival. The hotel does offer parking, but spaces are extremely limited and must be reserved in advance. There are public car parks nearby, but these can easily be full—as they were when we arrived. Overall, this makes the hotel a somewhat awkward choice if you are travelling by car and, if I were to visit Brugge again, I might consider staying elsewhere. When we arrived, reception was staffed by just one person. As two parties arrived at the same time, we had to wait a while before we could check in. Our room was not in the main building but across the road on the top floor—these rooms have names, something with “Peter.” The room itself was spacious and had good views, and the décor was acceptable. The bathroom and toilet were in separate rooms. There is a very large fridge in the room which makes a noticeable noise, so this could be an issue if you are a light sleeper. The bed was comfortable and the linen was excellent. The toiletries were also of good quality. Unfortunately, we found the housekeeping below the standard the hotel seems to aim for. There were foreign hairs in the bath, the back of the bathroom door needed cleaning, and there was thick dust on the floor behind the headboard. My wife complained of an unpleasant smell in the room - something I could not verify. The hotel is located right in the centre of Brugge by the river. While this contributes to the parking challenges mentioned earlier, it also means you can enjoy wonderful strolls through the old town. We did not try the restaurant, but the bar is open 24 hours, which is great, and we received a complimentary welcome drink. The windows in both the bar and restaurant overlook the river, which is lovely. Breakfast was very well presented and extremely delicious. The staff at this hotel are an absolute delight and provide service that easily reaches a five-star level and beyond. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Brugge, although it would have been significantly improved if we hadn’t had to spend nearly an hour searching for somewhere to park.

Wonderful, unique hotel. Beautifully restored and fabulously furnished. Great location, close to heart of city, and right on the canal. Most especially, the management and staff are so attentive and provide brilliant first class hospitality and personnel service. Such a great experience. Congratulations to the management and staff. Outstanding.
