About the Hotel

Tucked into a leafy square in Bruges, Belgium, The Pand Hotel is a lovingly converted former private residence, dating from the 18th century and adorned with antiques masterfully selected from the hotelier's own antiques shop. The gracious lobby was once a carriage house, and the library, lounge and cozy bar are steeped in the gracious ambience of old-world, European drawing rooms. Each of the 23 individually decorated bedrooms and Junior Suites is draped in rich Ralph Lauren fabrics, and whirlpools enhance the romantic mood of the suites.

The quintessential Boutique Hotel Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Love this hotel! It is the personification of a charming boutique experience. Upon approach, you see the holiday magic as the entrance was flanked by two lit up trees. The lobby is warm and cozy with a well appointed reception. We are a family of four with two older teens and booked two side by side rooms. They were able to make two separate beds for the teens so they could comfortably share their own room. The bathrooms are very well appointed with hot showers, a soaking tub, and toiletries. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful and, as the restaurants get so full during the day as Bruges is filled with European day trippers, I would highly recommend getting breakfast with your stay as it is leisurely, warm, and delicious with pastries, eggs, fruit, yogurt, and unlimited drinks. The hotel is very centrally located and quiet at the same time - the ideal mix. I would return in a heartbeat.

Not quite what I expected!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Having read the positive reviews and being a fan of small boutique hotels, I chose "The Pand" for my two-night stay in Brugge.......I rate it as follows.. POSITION-- 10! Central and quiet. RΟΟΜ-9 (we had the Charming room, which is rather small), but with comfortable beds. BΑΤΗRΟΟΜ-- 8 Our room did not have a shower but a bathtub, which was quite high and made it very difficult for the elderly people to climb in and a bit dangerous to climb out. (Maybe an appropriate stool might help) Additionally, there is no curtain or glass door, which can easily create a mess if you are not extremely careful. BREAKFAST--9 Not a big variety (no cakes, muffins, or scones, no pastry) NOISE LEVEL--8. Rooms are not soundproof, and in the morning, you will wake up to people talking in the corridor or the maid's vacuum cleaner. ATMOSPHERE--8 Mainly because the lobby and living room were not as warm as expected, and especially the breakfast room in the morning (9 a.m.) was COLD!!! Take care of that!!!!!!!!! PERSONNEL---9 Helpful but quite often missing from the reception desk, and having to call them. CLEANLINESS -----I would have rated it 10 because on the second day, they changed everything (sheets, towels, even slippers, which is a bit much) but the following happened...I had breakfast in bed (a cup of tea and a croissant), from which crumbs fell on the floor next to the bed. When I returned with everything fresh and tidy in the room...the crumbs were still there.

This hotel and guest house is stunning and beautiful. We booked to visit for our fourth time in Bruges but our guest time at this brilliantly run hotel. Before we even arrived we were emailed with friendly and informative information which made our experience a very pleasant one before we had even arrived. Raphael greeted us on our arrival and was very welcoming and helpful. During our stay we were always greeted with smiling faces and on our checkout, Fleur was the young lady who was at reception to deal with everything and take care of our cases, whilst we wandered around beautiful Bruges for our last couple of hours. Such a lovely young lady and presented us with a card and little gift from the hotel as a thank you for staying with them. The Pand Hotel is one of the gems of Bruges and is highly recommended. Thank you from Alison & Daniel x

Very classy boutique hotel

My friend and I each had our own room in this beautiful and spotless boutique hotel. It is within walking distance of everything. It’s comfortable, quiet and just darling. We walked up one flight of circular stairs to our rooms which was no big deal, but we didn’t have luggage. When I went down for coffee in the morning the very nice lady brought out a beautiful silver coffee pot on a tray with my coffee cup, I was impressed. She carried it up for me. If in Bruges with its cobbled streets and medieval buildings you should check out The Pand Hotel it’s truly 5 star!

Our shower

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

I’m a travel agent so I usually don’t like to send negative reviews. To be honest, I was so excited to stay at this hotel for the 2 nights out of our 4 night trip through Belgium. The reviews were awesome, hence why we booked the hotel. Here are my takes….the location is wonderful! You can walk to everything! My problem is the room. I booked the junior suite. It was lovely, however, you have a shower that has no door or curtain, and the shower head spews water everywhere. Trust me, I know European bathrooms, but we felt like the shower wasn’t finished or they didn’t care, even after we raised our concerns to the front desk. That means using the bathtub, which was nice. The safe didn’t work, so we brought everything with us as we walked around. Also, they don’t have a Smart TV, which means you have nothing to watch (maybe 1 or 2 channels) after you’ve had a day walking around and just want an evening to relax. The elevator is small. Again, I realize we’re in Europe, but it only holds 2 people with 2 carryon baggage. If you’re uncomfortable with that, you can take the narrow stairs up to your room. I hope this helps them to fix the small problems to make your stay enjoyable. It was a nice experience for us. Some good, some bad. Would I stay here again or refer it to my clients. Not sure.
