Anniversary break took us to Brussels. When booking, we were offered an upgrade if a special occasion, so do ask. Room was spacious, bed was an emperor in size, with moulding pillows - very comfortable, and room had a mini-fridge that was stocked with water, a charging cube for continental plugs and USB ports, and plenty of storage space. The en-suite was clean, had a deep bath, and offered robes and slippers. Room service menu is in rooms though we didn't indulge. Breakfast was served downstairs in a quite a grand suite, with cold meats and cheeses, a selection of varied chopped fruits, a small selection of cereals, overnight oats, smoothie shots, a yoghurt bar with a mass of topping choices (soya yoghurt and milks were available), assorted breads and pastries, a selection of fresh and non fresh juices, cakes, salmon sandwiches, hot drinks station, and a wall of hot breakfast choices in bain maries. Spoilt for choice really, though some items were below par, such as the fried potato, and scrambled eggs. Super helpful reception staff, including a great chap from Dublin, who all couldn't do enough to help. Lovely hotel bar, sadly seems underused as it was almost always empty when we saw it. Great cocktails at the expected price for the star rating. Location wise, the hotel is a five minute walk from Noord train station (from where you can catch a train to Brugge, Gent or the airport, for example), a two minute walk to the nearest Metro/underground station, where the nearest bus stops are also located, and a ten minute walk to the tourist favourites of the grand square and surrounding streets containing the Manneken Pis, bars, restaurants, gift shops, beautiful shopping galleries and some museums/experiences. The museum quarter was around a 15-20 minute walk. Great location all round, we found, and super handy for everything an extended weekend break would usually include. There are a few sex shops on the street by the hotel, so best to keep an eye on your nan, if she's about.

The lobby is really beautiful, the rooms are a bit underwhelming. The hairdryer is terrible, there was a stain in the side of the bedframe and rubbish from former guests under the bed.

We extended our stay for one night in connection with global journy - Tomorrowland. The staff is amazing. There's a wide selection at breakfast. We would choose this hotel again anytime.

Lovely grand hotel with friendly, helpful staff. We stayed there as delegates to a convention of Jehovah's Witnesses in Ghent. The staff worked hard to accommodate the large number of guests for breakfast, as we were on a tight departure schedule to convey the delegates to Ghent for our convention each morning. The location is good for exploring the old part of the city.

First class service. The staff were welcoming, professional, and genuinely attentive. The room was spotless, bathroom large and up to date. The location was steps away from restaurants, and local historical buildings and The Grand Plaza. Aircon was in room an added bonus. Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting the area.
