Reviews for Steigenberger Wiltcher's

Steigenberger Icon Wiltcher's is Perfection

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

This hotel was one of the best, if not the best, we have ever stayed at. It is perfectly located for business and pleasure stays. The room we had was spacious and perfect in every detail. The staff, right from the porters, to reception, to housekeeping, and the restaurants, was perfect in every way. I would most definitely stay again and I highly recommend this hotel.

Relaxing Escape After a Busy Work Weekend

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

I was in Brussels for a busy work weekend and decided very last minute to stay overnight instead of driving back to Antwerp. Booking online was quick and effortless, and I was able to check in around 10 PM without any hassle. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed — the bellman kindly greeted me and escorted me to reception, where check-in was handled with great courtesy and efficiency. Even though my stay was short (I left again around 7 AM the next morning), it was exactly what I needed. The room was spacious and beautifully designed, with a calming view of the inner courtyard. The luxurious bathroom was perfect to unwind after a long and stressful day, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt both relaxing and pampering. Check-out was just as smooth and polite as check-in. Although this was only a brief stay, it left a very positive impression. I look forward to returning when I can enjoy the hotel at a more leisurely pace.

Management problems

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I have stayed with your hotel previously, but this time I encountered several issues that left me disappointed. First, while I appreciate being offered an upgrade in recognition of my rewards status, the room provided was not an upgrade in any meaningful sense. It was an inner courtyard room with two queen beds, something I do not consider an upgrade at all. To make matters worse, the room was not clean: there were black marks on surfaces, hair on the bed and in the bathtub, and the overall condition was unacceptable. I would have strongly preferred a properly maintained deluxe room rather than being placed in a space that was both unsuitable and poorly maintained. Second, breakfast service was extremely slow. Even when ordering in advance, it took 45 minutes for food to arrive. This is well below expectations for a hotel of your standing. Third, upon arrival, there was no support with luggage. After traveling with bags, one expects assistance. Instead, the security staff were chatting with a friend and did not make the effort to call for a porter or bellboy, in particular when it is raining buckets. I had to go inside to arrange for the luggage to be sorted, with a guest relations person who was quite relaxed about it all. This was not the welcome I would expect at Steigenberger. I want to stress that these issues are not minor inconveniences but go to the core of the guest experience cleanliness, service, and recognition of loyalty. I hope you take this feedback seriously and review both the room assignment/upgrade process and the training of staff. I am a loyal guest and wish to continue staying with Steigenberger, but I do expect the standards to reflect the reputation of your brand. I did send this note to your team with no response- another symptom of issues.

Fantastic stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Everything was well designed, thoughtful and excellent. Hafez helped us at the reception desk and Dias showed us to our room which had a lovely and large patio. The staff was friendly, polite, professional and accommodating. The buffet breakfast was amazing. We also enjoyed a late lunch at the property and found the food and service to be wonderful. The property was clean and well maintained and we would definitely return and recommend it to friends.

Zero class

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Zero service. Had to witness staff arguing 3 times, had to carry my bags to my car and back to reception to pay again "valet" although I had the ticket, and if any mistakes, they had a deposit. Deposit that was never reimbursed despite 3 calls to them. I happened to have left a jacket, I was asked £75 to FedEx it, and refused to get it on postage (15 to 20 for recorded delivery) absolutely poor service. If you are looking for staff and concierge, they probably outside chatting...worst stay ever. Better service at 2 stars
