Recommended for business or pleasure

A quick business stay - but in summary a very clean hotel with excellent service, large rooms with a much more traditional feel. It is also in a great position with many and varied restaurants within 5minutes walk. Would stay again for business or pleasure.

An Oasis in Brussels

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

In a lifetime of travel it has been my privilege to stay in some extraordinary properties. The Steigenberger Wilchers ranks among the best. Thoughtful and well trained staff, first class room and amenities, a world class breakfast buffet and a location that balances proximity with a neighborhood feeling. Given the opportunity, I will return without hesitation and will recommend this oasis in Brussels to all who ask. Congratulations to a first class team.

Exceptional Stay - Thank you Amelie and Louisa

I had a wonderful experience at Steigenberge Wiltcher's. It was my second visit to Brussels but this time I decided to write. The hotel is no new but it is the staff that made the difference From the moment I arrived, the reception tean made me feel genuinely welcome. I would especially like to thank *Amelie* and *Louisa* for their warmth, professionalism, and exceptional attention to details. The hotel itself is elegant and beautifully maintained, and the location is ideal. But it was the personal touch from the reception team that made this visit a special one.

AVOID IF YOU DONT WANT TO PAY FOR YOUR ROKM SEVERAL TIMES OVER

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Imagine pre booking your whole stay through BA holidays to ensure a seemless check in and out of a hotel, no expense spared... only to find that the hotel has taken your VISA card details and begun from check in, charging random amounts of up to €250 from your card without authorisation. I was asked to pay a holding fee which was supposed to stay pending on my bank transactions, but this hotel claimed that money on payment. By the first night of my stay, they had charged over £800 to my card without authorisation. When I realised, I complained to reception who said they had made a mistake, very unprofessional, as they "thought" i hadn't paid for my stay. At the time of booking a room was approximately £150 so how we ended up at £800 for a two night stay, i will never know. There were 5 different transactions taken as well as one refunded that I was then charged a fee for from my bank for a foreign currency transaction. I asked then to remove my details as they were messing around with my bank. On leaving i asked for proof of the mismanaged payments. I left my bags there while I went out for a breakfast, only to find an additional payment taken, that I then complained about when I collected my bags. They said it was in error and again printed out the proof of payment. This is after apparently taking my card off file. I flew home financially much lighter as those funds stay pending for up to 25 days. We are now at approximately £900. I got home to find an additional €6 had been taken. I complained to both BA and the hotel, only BA replied. BA requested I contact the hotel direct, which I had already attempted, as the hotel itself wanted to manage the problem directly. I eventually got a response from someone at Steinburger, who claimed all the money was taken in error except the €6 for a bottle of water which was apparently purchased at 8pm on the day I checked out at 11am! I asked what they would do to rectify the error as I was put in a difficult situation and could not celebrate my friends birthday as intended, my stay in Belgium was stressful as a result ans they never should have had a preauthorisation on my card in the first place. I have followed up for a response, but got nothing. AVOID THIS HOTEL IF YOU WANT A SEEMLESS STAY THEY WILL RANDOMLY CHARGE THINGS TO YOUR ACCOUNT AND THE CHECK IN DESK ARE INCOMPITENT IN UP TO THREE LANGUAGES. The stay overall was OK, the hotel was nice, but located somewhat outside of the tourist/sightseeing areas.

Brussels Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Spent three nights at the hotel recently and enjoyed the stay. On the plus side, the concierge team was great in helping us take advantage of Brussels. They arranged a guide for us and took care of multiple restaurant reservations. We ate dinner one night in hotel. Food was fine, but not exceptional. Breakfast was good, however, but on one day was quite crowded. The room was nice and large by European standards. From a location perspective, the hotel is removed from the tourist spots, but is close to shopping. It is easy to get a cab or uber from the hotel or you can simply walk to the older parts of town. One note on cabs. If you get in a cab at the hotel and the driver tells you his machine is broken, switch cabs. Our cab driver told us his machine was broken while we were driving to our destination and charged us a fare that was double the norm. Not the hotel’s issue, but something to be aware of. End result, we enjoyed the stay. It is a comfortable hotel with a helpful and friendly staff.
