Stoke Place

The worst place ever! Avoid! Run down! Old! Bad smell! Dirty feeling and unsafe! Listening the staff conversation telling each other how bad the GM is, made me feel sorry for them. A big concern!

Car window smashed and interior of car was ransacked along with 6 other cars in the same night. It seems to be a common occurrence at this hotel reading other reviews. Extremely poor security and unsafe. It’s shocking considering that there would have been 6 car alarms going off pretty much at the same time and security or a member of staff were unaware. Very poor security

Have been to this hotel a few times and always admired the grounds and thought the food and service was very good - however this time we were let down somewhat. We had a free upgrade of room, which is great .. so it was a suite and in my opinion a nice room. However, as an example of an easy win which wasn’t delivered on: the light was not left on in our room after cleaning - so when we first entered the room in the dark I tripped straight down the steps which are right inside of the door. Then, the clanger : when we left the following morning everything was great - said bye to staff on reception etc after a nice breakfast however had a shock when we got to our car which had the drivers window smashed in (glass everywhere) and then realised all the cars in the car park had the same happen. And the caretaker said the same thing had happened the previous week!! Wouldn’t stay again unfortunately .

Thank you Stoke Place for another fantastic Christmas Dinner! This was our 3rd year of coming to Stoke Place to celebrate Christmas with our friends. As a group of 45 (half toddlers) it is not easy to accommodate us, but the Lakeside Room was fantastic! The event had been well organised and beautifully set out by staff before our arrival. The staff were very friendly and quick to resolve any issues. We look forward to coming again next year!

Attended a Christmas Party last week. The room was beautifully set up - the staff both waiting, bar and managers were excellent - attentive and helped with any queries. The food - well, I've been to many Christmas parties where the food served was cold and not much of it - not at Stoke Place - the all of the courses were hot, tasty and there was a lot on my plate! The hotel DJ was brilliant - the music placed ensured that the dance floor was not empty. Although I did not sty for the night - my colleagues who did had no complaints. I also, in the summer had afternoon tea there - just to see what the place was like etc. Again the food was excellent (warm scones yum!) waiting staff attentive. The site on the hotel is stunning - it was a hot day when `I went and the views from the veranda, over looking the lake, was stunning.
