A wonderful location, close to everywhere. The rooms are cleaned twice a day. The breakfast is excellent. The team at the reception could be friendlier but the rest of the.people such as concierge or information were very nice.

We had a wonderful stay at the Kempinski Corvinus in Budapest. The location is excellent, with a children’s park just across the street, plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, and several of the city’s highlights within walking distance. Andrássy Avenue is also just a short walk away, which made exploring that area very convenient. Service was attentive from the start, with help for our luggage and friendly reception staff. Our premium deluxe room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and quiet on the sixth floor. The lifts were quick, and the flowers throughout the hotel created a lovely ambience. There is even a charming little flower shop inside, worth a visit. Housekeeping was excellent, with daily cleaning, turndown service, and complimentary bottled water. The hotel’s facilities were also a highlight, from its bars and café to the deli and restaurant. The spa and pool were very nice, though the pool is on the smaller side. Breakfast offered a wide variety and was delicious, even if sometimes a little hectic during busy periods. Overall, the Kempinski Corvinus made our holiday feel extra special, and we would happily return on our next visit to Budapest.

We stayed at the Kempinski Corvinus for three nights as a party of husband and wife with our 14 year old daughter having booked via American Express Travel. First the positives: Great Facilities-Gym with a variety of equipment and a pleasant swimming pool, if not large. Good location near the main shopping street and not far from the Danube. Largely friendly staff.Particularly in the spa/wellness suite, at breakfast and the minibar/coffee restocking man.The senior staff are also very courteous, helpful and respectful. The reception will print out tickets for you (needed in paper form for a Hungarian Parliament visit) on a complimentary basis. The negatives: Poor welcome/first impression. Upon arrival the doorman opened our taxi door and then promptly disappeared. No offer of help with luggage or getting us a trolley. It was bizarre ; I mentioned it to the receptionist on checking in who was lovely and very professional indeed, wish I’d got her name. She said she’d feedback to the team concerned. No way of messaging guest services on an app or via the TV (unless I missed it). Any interaction with Staff or services seems to have to be in person or on the telephone which seems out of step with the modern world. I did use the reception email address but the email went unanswered. The larger rooms (I found out) all have connecting doors with poor sound proofing. I was woken at 5am by a screaming/wailing child next door, the sound felt close enough to be in the same room. I woke up in a startle to the sound and, although I initially dozed back off for a few minutes, I was woken by a further scream a few minutes later which went on for over 20 minutes so that was it for the night. This lack of sleep spoiled my last day in Budapest which is a Shame as it is a lovely city. I reported what had happened to reception (and I know it’s not the hotel’s fault when other guests are noisy ; we all have a different style of parenting) but she told me the lack of soundproofing is a known issue in these rooms. I felt it to be unreasonable to be awoken in this manner in a 5 * hotel, surely modern building design would have a soundproofing solution? We asked to be moved to a quieter room which the receptionist did agree to. She was friendly but there was no expression of empathy or regret which would have gone an awfully long way. I rang guest services who assured me they would send someone straight up to move our luggage to the new room so we duly sat with our cases by the door. Twenty-five minutes later no-one had arrived so I went down to get the new keycards myself and we moved ourselves. No apology from guest services for not showing up. I found the way we have been treated during this stay, until the point of departure, to be disappointing. It felt to me like they just didn’t care about the guest experience on the basis that it’s a capital city, people will book regardless so they don’t have to try too hard. Either that or it’s a staff training issue, general disorganisation, communication issues or the staff are just too busy to manage the workload/guest interactions. That said when we checked out one of senior staff did speak to us in person and apologise for our experience and wrote off approx $30 USD of extras which was a welcome gesture and appreciated. She was warm and genuine, if only we had been treated in this way whilst we were still resident at the hotel. We stayed in a sister Kempinski hotel in Berlin in 2023, the experience could not have been more different, it was absolutely out of this world (see my Tripadvisor review). Maybe some of that excellence could be brought to the Corvinus? I did contemplate whether to post this experience, had our issues been taken seriously whilst we were still resident in the hotel to improve our experience. I wouldn’t have done. All in all our experience of this hotel did fall short. If you are expecting a 5* experience I’d advise managing your expectations.I do hope the hotel can address its staff/welcome and soundproofing issues and get its house in order. If it did it could be truly fantastic , no question. Our three nights in Budapest, however, showed us that there are also a lot of other really nice hotels to choose from.

We really enjoyed out staying at this hotel. It’s located at the heart of Budapest, which gives access to visit all the main monuments. Staff are excellent, rooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurants are also excellent. We highly recommend.
