We specifically chose this hotel for its central location and its 5-star rating, expecting a high level of service and comfort. The purpose of our trip was to celebrate my husband’s birthday, which I had carefully planned as a surprise. Unfortunately, the experience we encountered fell drastically short of what one would expect from a luxury hotel and nearly ruined a special occasion. Upon arrival on July 15, 2025, we were assigned three different rooms consecutively, all of which were below acceptable cleanliness standards. These issues were clearly documented through photographs, video footage, and written correspondence with hotel management. Due to the unacceptable conditions, we were forced to check out and find alternative accommodation at our own expense—a stressful and disappointing outcome, especially given that we were in a foreign country during what was supposed to be a joyful celebration. When I contacted hotel management, they initially offered a complimentary two-night stay with meals as compensation. However, upon requesting appropriate financial compensation for the emotional distress and material costs we endured, the offer was suddenly withdrawn, and no further resolution was proposed. I am a big fan of Kempinski hotels and have stayed at several locations around the world, including Turkey, Oman, and Qatar. Based on my previous experiences, I was looking forward to enjoying a similar high-quality stay during my recent visit. Unfortunately, this trip was quite disappointing, despite having booked a Junior Suite and Corvinus Room with a view of Fashion Street. From the very first moment, I felt unwelcome at the hotel. The staff at the reservations desk did not provide the level of service I have come to expect from Kempinski hotels. After our first night, I noticed that tea was not replenished in the pantry unless I specifically asked for it, and sometimes the cleaning staff would forget to leave water in our room. I often had to actively search for the housekeeping team to request water. On another occasion, my wife contacted guest services to express her concerns and asked for someone from the customer service team to return her call. As of now, no one has followed up on her issue. The worst experience occurred on the fifth day of our stay. While I was in line asking the chef to prepare an omelette, a staff member from the ES restaurant interrupted me and bluntly stated, "Sir, your reservation does not include breakfast," right in front of my young daughter. I initially thought she was joking, but the waitress confirmed that it was okay for me to eat. Confused, I showed them my reservation on my phone. Eventually, the restaurant manager recognised that it was a mistake on their part, but no one apologised for the incident. Additionally, the breakfast offered lacked sufficient variety to meet the needs of all guests, especially given the number of visitors from Asia during my stay. However, on the sixth day, I had a positive interaction with Ms. Varlet, who reached out to me after I received a message on my TV screen asking me to contact reception. I shared my experiences with her, and she listened to my complaints regarding the ES restaurant. She asked what she could do to reassure me, and I told her that her professionalism and kindness would suffice. I even offered to pay my entire balance two days before my check-out date. Despite these issues, I will remain a big fan of Kempinski.

Centrally located, but very quiet with great attention to detail in all respects. With a top-notch Nobu restaurant on the ground floor, easily accessible parking and ready access to the metro, this is a convenient and fine place to stay in Budapest.
