We had the pleasure to hang out with the owner who takes such personal pride and interest in his guests and property. The hotel has been completely restored to its historic grandeur. Just far away enough from city center you are not mauled by tourists. Close enough to walk to everything and burn all the calories consumed while touring the great restaurants and bars Budapest has to offer.

Smooth check in. The rooms are quite exceptional, has all you need. Spa is very nice. The main restaurant was very classy. Limited menu but that said food and service was great.

Recently stayed at The Mystery Hotel in Budapest with some girlfriends - WOW what a beautiful hotel. Quirky and beautiful decor from the welcoming and bright reception to the nicely decorated bedrooms and the amazing Great Hall. All connected by a beautiful sweeping stone staircase overlooking the spa at every level. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The beds were incredibly comfortable. And a lovely touch that as a twin room there were two double beds rather than single ones - bonus! A modern bathroom with a great shower and absolutely spotlessly clean throughout the whole hotel. Breakfast was tasty with some off buffet options also available - more than enough food and options to set you up for a day of exploring. We ate dinner in the Great Hall on Saturday and the food did not disappoint - the steak was one of the best I have ever tasted!! And as an added bonus we were treated to some entertainment during dinner duo consisting of a vocalist and a keyboard player who performed a range of songs and festive tunes - this was warmly received by us - as members of a choir - couldn't help but sing along too! I would highly recommend this hotel, but just a couple of little points to be aware of - this is not centrally located in amongst the cities highlights - it is a 10-15 min walk to get to the 'main road' where busses can be caught to take you around the city - so not really many restaurants or bars locally that we found. There were no drawers in our rooms - plenty of hanging space (could do with a few more hangers considering the space though) but no drawers for underwear, socks etc - so it all had to stay in the case! Also the spa facilities are quite small - a hot tub/jacuzzi that fits at most 5 people in it. Some lounge chairs and beds, however I know they do offer spa treatments - the space is limited and very overlooked - you can be seen from every floor of the hotel as the spa is on the central on the ground level. However we had an amazing time, we were made to feel very welcome and comfortable Thank you to the Mystery Hotel Team.
