About the Hotel

Just steps from Burleigh Beach, Mondrian Gold Coast brings bold contemporary design and sophisticated coastal living to one of Australia’s most celebrated surf destinations. The hotel’s sun-drenched Studios, Suites, Homes and Beach Houses draw inspiration from Burleigh’s rolling waves, Norfolk pines and Pacific sands, with accommodations offering views toward the ocean, headland or hinterland; the expansive Beach Houses elevate the experience with private plunge pools and indoor-outdoor living. Wellness is equally distinctive at CIEL Spa, a bio-wellness retreat combining advanced technology with restorative therapies and touchless treatments, complemented by a high-performance fitness studio and magnesium plunge pools. Dining embraces Burleigh’s relaxed energy: LiTO is a lively all-day Italian restaurant, while Haven showcases seasonal produce from the Northern Rivers and Australia’s Eastern Seaboard alongside cocktails and wines. The adjoining Haven Pool Club adds cabanas, poolside bites, music and golden-hour drinks to the resort-like experience.

Reviews for Mondrian Gold Coast

Great service! Loved this hotel.

After reading so many terrible reviews about the service here and also hearing from somebody who used to work here, we were a little apprehensive. And then we arrived - no lobby - just a big open area with an incredibly noisy restaurant and a tiny little check-in desk in the corner. However, the service was fantastic checking in. Camille was so lovely and in fact all the staff we encountered at the hotel were fantastic. There was a big conference going on which explained the noise, but we did manage to communicate by shouting over the desk. lol. We only had two nights there and Camille very kindly upgraded us. We had a view on the side of Burleigh heads to the beautiful Pacific Ocean. The beach is literally just across the road. Our suite on the eighth floor was absolutely gorgeous and we were so incredibly comfortable. The design was so well thought out and we had everything we could possibly need and more. It would’ve been so good if we had a longer stay to really enjoy it all. I spent quite a bit of time at the pool which is heated just enough to enjoy in cold weather, on the world’s most comfortable sun loungers. It was so convenient right next to the Haven restaurant and bar so I could enjoy cocktails. We went for pre-dinner drinks at Haven on the first night with friends also staying at the Mondrian. The bartender, Brian, looked after us very well. Haven is exactly my style of comfortable bar within a restaurant that I prefer to hang out in. So the following night while the rest of my party went off to Rick Shores for dinner which I knew would be way too spicy for me, I headed to Haven again. Brian made me a delicious cocktail that reminded me of a fave restaurant of mine in Vegas - a Hakkasan. I ended up ordering dinner from the restaurant menu and having it in the bar area, which was very comfortable. A special mention to Ricardo for his excellent service. He went above and beyond. We had to check out early the next day and our flight wasn’t until early evening, so we stowed our luggage with the concierge. Hubby had a day of meetings while I got to spend the day by the pool and then on the lounges in the undercover area nearby. I was able to get in another Hakkasan cocktail. There are bathroom and shower facilities nearby so I was able to change for my flight. I would just like to suggest that the hotel install a towel hook in the large ladies corner shower and a bottle of shower gel on the wall. This would be so helpful after checkout when using these facilities. All in all, we experienced great service here and we highly recommend this hotel.

Don’t waste your money booking this Hotel.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Just came back from a weekend stay with family to celebrate my birthday. My advice to anyone looking to book this Hotel, would be don’t waste your hard earned money.Accommodation prices are ridiculous. My husband & I have just returned from 3 & 1/2 weeks in Egypt & Jordan & this Hotel would be lucky to score 3 stars over there.$40 per night for parking. No free breakfast.Service sooo slow.My daughter waited 30 mins for a juice at Breakfast & when it finally arrived it was in a glass bottle. I could maybe understand if it was freshly squeezed, but in a glass bottle that 1 person could have gone to the fridge to get.My husband waited 45 mins for 1 mango daiquiri at lunch. The restaurant wasn’t even that busy. Not sure what demographic this Hotel is looking to cater for,but they really need to up their game in most areas. I definitely would not recommend this Hotel to anybody.

Our Go To on the GC

We've just finished another incredible three-night stay at the Mondrian Gold Coast, and once again it exceeded every expectation. We stayed in a top-floor One Bedroom Ocean Suite, and the views were simply spectacular. Waking up each morning overlooking the ocean and watching the sunset from the balcony each evening made it hard to leave the room. What keeps bringing us back, though, is the complete experience. The hotel has a relaxed luxury feel that's sophisticated without ever feeling pretentious. Every member of the team we interacted with was warm, welcoming and genuinely committed to making our stay memorable. The rooms are beautifully designed, immaculately presented and incredibly comfortable, with every detail thoughtfully considered. The location is also perfect—close enough to enjoy everything Burleigh has to offer while still feeling like a peaceful retreat. Will never stay north of Burleigh again!! After several stays, the Mondrian has become our go-to destination on the Gold Coast. It's one of those rare hotels that consistently delivers, and that's why we keep returning. Thank you to the entire team for another fantastic stay. We can't wait to be back again soon.

Lovely rooms and location; consistently bad service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We had a lovely 2-bedroom suite with spectacular views. The hotel is in a great spot and the staff are friendly, but the service is consistently inept, with the worst service coming from the customer service manager / team who asked regularly whether they could help with anything, but did not respond to requests for assistance. The restaurant service at Haven was similarly disorganised. Even the service at the spa was bizarre. I booked a massage with a female therapist. I wasn't told this couldn't be accommodated until a male therapist took me through for the massage and I asked why it wasn't a woman. In fact, every point of service failed to the point where our family has now coined "Mondrian" to mean bad service. It stood in very stark contrast to Halcyon House (where we stayed before) and Calile Hotel (where we stayed after), both at much lower price points. With our eldest child having moved to the Gold Coast recently we had hoped that this would be our place to stay when we visit, but sadly not.
