Reviews for Casa Dorada Resort & Spa

A Favorite for Years, But This May Be Our Last Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 12 hours ago

We’ve stayed at Casa Dorada seven times over the past 15 years, and this will likely be our last. The location is still unbeatable—that’s what kept us coming back—but the overall experience has noticeably declined. When we first visited, the property felt like a hidden gem: clean, well-maintained, and full of charm. Now it’s clearly showing its age, and more importantly, the level of service just isn’t what it used to be. The property itself is beginning to show its age, which is understandable over time, but what stood out more was a noticeable shift in service. Staff are polite and friendly in passing, but when we had questions or needed assistance, it often felt difficult to get clear help. We were frequently redirected or asked to follow up later, which made simple things more challenging than expected. That said, Emilio and Chema on the beach continue to be absolutely exceptional. They remembered us from past visits and went above and beyond every beach day—helping with chairs, umbrellas, and towels, always with a warm and genuine attitude. They truly made our beach experience and are a big reason we’ve returned over the years. We’ve always opted for the breakfast package, but this year the experience had changed. Previously, there was flexibility to order an entrée instead of the buffet, which we appreciated. Now it’s buffet-only, and we found the quality to be fairly average. Some items—like the eggs and fruit—were inconsistent, and overall it didn’t feel like the same level of quality we remembered. One thing to be aware of (though not within the hotel’s control) is the noise from nearby properties. There is now very loud music with heavy bass coming from the neighboring hotel that carries throughout much of the resort during the day and into the evening. Depending on your room location, it may be quite noticeable meaning loud thumping and vibrating through the walls. It is not just noticeable it is nearly unbearable to some. Our room was spacious and generally clean, but also showing wear. Small maintenance items—like squeaky doors and inconsistent door locks—added up over the course of the stay. Nothing major, but enough to feel like the property could benefit from some updates and attention to detail. The TVs are also outdated and don’t support streaming or AirPlay—so options are limited, I'm not on vacation to watch TV but it is noticeable at the end of a long day. We’re not overly picky travelers and have truly loved this place in the past, which is why this review is disappointing to write. Casa Dorada still has potential, but right now it feels like it’s relying heavily on its location rather than the full guest experience. We’re grateful for the memories—and especially for Emilio and Chema—but it may be time for us to try somewhere new.

Incredible Stay at Casa Dorada Los Cabos Resort & Spa!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I visited Casa Dorada Los Cabos Resort & Spa in March with my best friend, and our experience was absolutely amazing. The resort is stunning—beautiful grounds, great atmosphere, and everything is kept spotless. The food exceeded our expectations and the rooms were huge with super comfortable beds that made it hard to get up in the morning! But the real star of our stay was Ilse, the photographer. She is truly talented at what she does! She’s warm, friendly, and captured memories we’ll cherish forever. If you're thinking about staying here—do it. We can’t wait to go back!

Raul was our server every morning and was very friendly and kind. All of the bartenders and servers were also very kind.

Perfect family getaway

The staff was exceptional and made our trip so much better. I especially want to call out Chemol. He was a staple for the pool and took extra care of our entire family each and everyday.

Destination wedding

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

For anyone considering a destination wedding in cabo san lucas. They should definitely put Casa Dorada on the list. The wedding coordinator Katherine went above and beyond to make the entire weekend fantastic. The location of the resort is perfect you can walk into town. The mango deck is right in front of the ocean. The ceremony and reception were stunning. The rooms are spacious. Hotel is very clean All of the providers suggested by Katherine the wedding coordinator were phenomenal.
