Hacienda Encantada Resort & Spa feels secluded, even though it’s still considered part of Cabo’s Marina Golden Zone. At the far end of the area’s development, quiet, tranquil beaches await, and a string of infinity pools cascade down the resort’s hillside. Hacienda’s traditional Mexican-style suites start at 800 square feet – book a Family Suite for twice that much space – and are outfitted in earth tones with handcrafted furniture and textiles from Guadalajara. Guests who want to venture afield can enjoy their all-inclusive privileges at Golden Zone restaurants, accessible by complimentary shuttle.

Beautiful property all around. Well maintained and easy to access via golf carts. However, the food options were limited and misrepresented. Many restaurants were closed or had limited menus and hours. Apparently the hotel was nearly empty the week we were there. Additionally, their time share sales team is really, really aggressive. If you are considering purchasing a time share, be sure to read ALL the fine print as there are some surprises that are embedded and difficult to spot. Ordering bottled water in Cabo hotels and restaurants is a SCAM. There are two types of bottled water - inexpensive orange label and everything else. Always order the orange bottles AND tell the server YOU WANT OPEN at the table. Imagine a scene right out of the movie Slum Dog Millionaire where the staff is taking empty water bottles and filling them from the tap and then using a bit of glue to fasten the top back on to make it appear legit. Your other option is to bring your own water to the hotel/restaurant table. Lastly, watch your receipts - don't be surprised to find additional items on them and additional tips. Did you know that all food/beverage sales include a service charge (AKA TIP). Don't make the Gringo mistake and double tipping UNLESS you want to give some cash directly to your server, bartender etc.
