Reviews for Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol

4/5 - not ready to be 5 stars yet

Full transparency, We used points, and for that, no regrets. If we'd been paying cash, I'd have stayed at the Four Seasons or somewhere else. Going in, I read a ton of reviews calling this place absolutely incredible with amazing service, so my expectations were really high. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are nice, but nothing about it set it apart from other luxury properties I've stayed at. They're marketing it as ultra luxury and I don't think it's there yet. Luxury, sure. Ultra luxury, no. The property was pretty empty during our stay, which I expected given how new it is. The pool areas were a highlight, lots of different options to choose from. Service was a little slow across the board, which I'm willing to attribute to a new property that's probably not fully staffed and still finding its rhythm. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely lovely. That said, a couple things really stuck with me: The check-in experience was a little off. The woman who checked us in was so nice, but she seemed to have no idea about the reservations and experiences we'd already booked directly with the concierge before our trip. She started asking if we needed a tee time for my husband when we'd already made one. At a property positioning itself this way, I'd expect whoever checks you in to walk through your pre-arranged schedule. Felt like a real disconnect. The bigger issue: I told her I'd tried to book a spa appointment for the morning my husband was golfing but nothing was available, and asked if she could have the concierge call me to see if they could fit me in. She confirmed my phone number, said absolutely, and no one ever called. I don't know if she dropped the ball or the concierge did, but that's not what you expect from a luxury property. There was also a president's club on site for a tech company during our stay, which is a normal thing at resorts. But it felt like that group was the priority, and if you weren't with them, you got secondhand treatment. Overall, nothing about the trip was bad. The property has the bones to be wonderful, and I think they'll get there with more time. But right now, it doesn't live up to the ultra luxury marketing. Bottom line: if you're booking on points, it's a great option. If you're paying cash and want to stay in the Cabo del Sol area, I'd go with the Four Seasons.

So luxurious and baby friendly!

This hotel is fabulous and luxurious. We went with a 6 month old baby and they had every thing we needed. The staff is the most accommodating staff ever. I was shocked at how baby friendly it was!

Relaxing disconnect (mostly)

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Beautiful hotel but very rough around the edges. I will give it the benefit of the doubt because it is new. It is certainly not worth paying full rate at this point. We had issues with mosquitoes as well as food and service availability. The staff that did interact with us were very friendly but concierge was never available. Please note that the ocean in this location is not accessible due to how rough it is, and the hotel has no entertainment onsite or nearby plus problems with their entertainment systems - requiring a trip into town unless you want to just relax by the pool. For that purpose, this hotel is excellent (unless you want food before noon).

long awaited luxury

we first booked the PH cabo in july 2025 hoping that the hotel would open on time. after several reschedules, we were ecstatic for our dream cabo trip to come to fruition. upon arrival in the lobby, the first thing that catches your eye is not the gorgeous view of the Sea of Cortez; it was the long wood table of SNACKS. after a long and early travel day, the dried mango and tamarind candy hits the spot. the candy and snacks in the rooms and suites were even better than the lobby. as a globalist, we were upgraded to the deluxe ocean view suite in building 8 which lives up to its reputation as being one of the best room locations. the beach club is directly next to building 8 and the main pool is a nice, flat 5 min walk. don’t let the map fool you; it is not to scale. the beach club dj played absolute bangerz and even rocks out on the guitar in between songs which can be enjoyed from our room balcony. the fitness center is the best surprise. being adjacent to the spa, there is an outdoor lounge area with lap pool and equipment for one of the circuit classes. if you don’t feel like working out, go to the fitness center just for the homemade protein bars! PH cabo sets the bar on what a true granola/protein bar should taste like with the freshest ingredients. the food is absolutely stellar. the habenero rib eye was perfectly cooked and more than enough to share between 2 people for dinner. nachos at costamar beach club is a huge portion with generous protein. the only notes about F&B is to have more non alcoholic beers available. mocktails are nice but the NA local beers are preferred. we switched over to the Thompson Cape hotel after PH and immediately regretted it. Vibes are so much better at PH.

As good as four seasons in Cabo Del sol

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My wife I took a quick 4 day get away and Park Hyatt showed up on our searches for five star resorts in Cabo and decided to give it a try. Park Hyatt is not a brand we normally consider. In Cabo We normally stay at One and Only, Rosewood, and recently Four Seasons this spring break in March. All have their pros cons. This property hangs with any and as far as finishes go is actually the nicest we’ve stayed at in Cabo imo. Tumbled marble inside and out. It’s understated but very nice. Massive pools! I liked that the main pools have views of golf course and ocean. Like the new Cabo Del sol 4 seasons, there is no swim up bar though. Bummer! This property is kid friendly (but the pool area is kind of slick when wet) and family friendly for those with older folks (some rooms are very easily walkable to from pools bar restaurant), and there are ultra private rooms for romantic couples. We loved the adult only beach club pool, which is where we spent most of our time. Some of the property is still under construction as of May 9 but looks to be close to finished maybe 90% complete and did not interfere with our stay. Service was better than four seasons in Cabo Del sol and that’s not even debatable for us…and on par with O&O and Rosewood but perhaps more “approachable” and genuine. The most direct comparison in this area is 4S. Both properties are new, clean, and very nice. Service was better at PH. Dining variety was better at 4S. Once Animas Village restaurants open which is walkable from PH, then PH pulls ahead in that area. We ate pizza in Animas at Cream. Highly recommend!
