I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal for a special occasion and had a mixed experience. Positives: The property itself is absolutely stunning. The setting is peaceful, the beach is quiet and beautiful (though not swimmable), and the rooms are spacious and well designed. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The in-room food was also excellent. Where it fell short: Service consistency—especially given the price point. At the pool, I waited a significant amount of time without being acknowledged, despite staff being present and actively serving other guests. I asked for towels and a menu, and 90 minutes later still had not received a menu or any service. This was around 3:30 p.m. on a Friday with roughly 30 guests at the pool and ample staff. I’m not sure why the service felt so dismissive and absent for a 5-star property. As a solo traveler, this stood out more than it might have otherwise. I eventually had to go to the bar myself to order a drink, which is not what I would expect at this level. Pre-arrival experience: Communication was also lackluster. I needed to shift my reservation by one day due to a flight delay—not cancel—and initially was met with the possibility of a $1,500 fee despite availability. I ultimately had to involve the Diamond service desk and advocate assertively to resolve it. Recognition / occasion: This was a birthday trip as a Platinum member. I’ve received more thoughtful acknowledgment at lower-tier Hilton properties. There was no real recognition beyond the standard tequila welcome. Additional details that added up: * Food delivery was left by the door rather than placed in the room or clearly communicated * Concierge responses were polite but minimal and not proactive * Activity information required multiple follow-ups and lacked detail (e.g., “hiking” with no description of distance, location, or difficulty) None of these are major issues individually, but together they created a sense of inconsistency. At this price point, I would expect more attentiveness and follow-through without having to ask repeatedly. I would not feel good paying cash for this level of service. To be fair: Staff were friendly when engaged, and management did respond when I raised concerns. I didn’t feel unwelcome—just not consistently taken care of in the way I’ve experienced at other top-tier properties. The Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi remains top tier for service in my experience. Bottom line: This is a beautiful resort in an incredible location, but for the cost, I expected a more polished and seamless service experience. It felt like miss after miss, both pre-arrival and on property. * 5-star hardware (location, rooms, views) * 3–4 star service consistency * 3-star communication Overall, it feels like a high-end product in terms of the physical property, but not an elite experience. I would consider returning for the setting, but would weigh other options depending on the level of service I’m looking for. Additional notes: Room 321 (two queen corner ocean view) was lovely, though the view was slightly impeded.

This resort is an absolute dream, no better way to describe it. From the second you arrive from the moment you leave, you feel taken care of. There wasn't one single negative in our 7 day stay. The grounds are impeccable, the rooms are gorgeous, clean and comfortable. We were worried to take our kids to such a fancy hotel but I can tell you, I will never stay anywhere else but here. My girls had an amazing time. I even took my youngest to a walk around town which is only a few minutes away. Super thanks to Miguel, he really made the whole trip over the top special for our little bday girl who turned 7 in Cabo. Eneyda was extremely pleasant as well. I wish I knew everyone's names because they were all exceptional. Yes it is pricey, but for a reason. Book it!

The entrance through the private tunnel is undeniably cinematic, and the "hard product"—the rooms and private plunge pools—are the highlight of this property. However, for a five-star property at this price point, the value proposition vs the inflated rate they charge misses the mark. The property’s location is subject to intense winds, which made the pool area quite unpleasant and the plunge pool too cold to use as it can only heat up to 88 degrees. On one of our days, all umbrellas had to be lowered for “safety,” leaving us exposed to intense sun and severely diminishing the value of a resort stay focused on outdoor relaxation. Additionally, there is only one hot tub on the entire property and it’s luke warm. Be warned that private events can reserve the pool - during our stay half the pool areas were reserved for a private function. The pool area itself lacks any real ambiance or "soul” and feels uninspiring. While the service is professional, the food and beverage are overpriced, even by luxury hotel standards. You are paying a massive premium that the overall experience doesn't quite justify. It’s a beautiful hotel, but between the lifeless pool, the high winds and the inflated costs, there are better properties to stay at for this budget in Cabo. What made this review a 4 vs a 3 star was the concierge staff who made an effort to address some of our concerns while on property.

My wife and I recently stayed here for two nights with Hilton Free Night Certificates. Our magical experience began before we arrived with an email from our personal concierge, Raquel, who checked in to see how she could help make our stay special. Over the next week, we exchanged emails asking about the amenities and activities, and Raquel was incredibly helpful. The real story began when we arrived. From the moment you enter the massive gates, you feel like you are in a private oasis. We were more than three hours early, and Raquel and her team showed us around the resort so we could enjoy the infinity pools and beach while we waited for our room. And the room was WELL worth the wait. We received the most incredible upgrade we have ever experienced, granting us a 3-bedroom villa with a plunge pool, a full kitchen, and a master suite that I am still dreaming about. The resort recently completed a massive renovation, and our room was not only modern but felt like part of the cliffs themselves. Full of handmade art, blown glass, and woodcarvings. It was a room full of personality and life, not like some resorts that have opted for something clean and modern that borders on soulless. If you want a hotel where you experience luxury firmly rooted in the place it is built, this is the place for you. I filmed a video tour for our family and it took almost five minutes to just explore the entire suite! But our experience didn't stop at the room. We ate dinner at Don Manuel's and El Farallon. Both were superb experiences which we will review separately, but are well worth a visit while you stay here. As diamond members, we received a free continental breakfast, which was very nice, but opted for the $25pp upgrade to the full buffet, which is worth every penny. Not only does it feature incredible local scratch-made delicacies, but Reyes and Isadora (the two taco chefs we met during our stay) prepared for us a special selection of tacos that were truly the best we have ever eaten. Also, make sure to order their french toast. It is unforgettable. During our meals at Don Manuel's, we became friends with our servers. Martin, Mitchell, Aremis, Allan, and Jesus. These gentlemen were incredibly helpful, gracious, and attentive. At the pool, anything we could need was ready and brought to our chairs by the attentive attendants like Angel and JP. As Diamond members, we've experienced some of the best hotels and resorts in the Hilton portfolio, but this experience was truly tied only with the Hermitage Bay in Antigua and, unlike that beautiful property, the Waldorf Pedregal is a true couples AND family resort, with multiple options so the entire family can have a life-changing vacation. (We are already making plans for when we can return with our children so they can enjoy it as well. A good resort has beautiful amenities. A great resort will throw in a memorable location. But a life-changing resort adds something that can't be faked. The dedication of its staff. Every person we met during our short stay truly loved what they were doing. They actively sought ways to make our stay special. They picked up on small things we said to one another and then incorporated them into their service. They learned our names, and we learned theirs. Many have been there for more than five years, pouring their hearts into making stays magical, whether they are for three months like some guests the weekend we were there, or just a couple of nights like us. I created a list of people we met and look forward to seeing again when we return. Each of these team members made our stay special. Raquel, our personal concierge Angel and JP our pool attendants Allan, Server Jesus, Server Arturo Mitchell, Server Carla, hostess Alejandra, tour guide and room guide Reyes, taco chef Isadora, taco chef Adrian, server Abraham, server Jauqin, manager at El Farallon Alberto So if you made it this far into my review and are still on the fence, just book it. You won't regret it. Your only regret may be the one we had, which was not staying there for longer.

We had such an amazing stay at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal. The property is absolutely beautiful with incredible ocean views and such a peaceful, luxurious feel. The service really stood out. Everyone was so kind and attentive, and our butler Miguel made everything easy and special for us. The room was gorgeous and super comfortable. The food was excellent everywhere we ate, and the spa was one of the best we’ve experienced. I brought my twins and they loved it! They were obsessed with the pool, had a great time at the kids club, and loved getting special drinks during the afternoon guacamole service. Such a special place and we can’t wait to go back.
