Pedregal is Unmatched

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We’ve seen and, sadly, even stayed at, other Cabo resorts, but nothing compares to The Waldorf Astoria Pedregal. The accommodations, hospitality, and the views are unmatched. We were treated as friends every step of the way. My favorite time is sipping tequila and eating chips and guac in my balcony pool watching the waves break.

Would Give 10 Stars if I Could!!

We just returned home from our third trip to the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal. What more can I say than we are absolutely in LOVE with this place. We weren't able to visit last summer, due to the beautiful renovations they did to the rooms, so we made sure to go this summer. We arrived on August 27th and stayed in the same 2 bedroom casita we stayed in on our last trip, room 40. We loved the look of the room with the new furniture, not that the old furniture was anything to turn your nose up at. Upon our arrival at the hotel, we were greeted by our AMAZING butler, Danny. He has been our butler each time we go there, and he feels like a member of the family at this point. Once we arrived at our room, we noticed that it was decorated for my birthday, which we were there to celebrate. There were balloons all over the room, and a Happy Birthday banner by the front door. It literally was just such a wonderful way to start our trip. We ordered room service our first night there, since we were tired from traveling and it was just really hot and humid outside. The food was great and the way they set up our dining room table was lovely. They really make sure every little thing is perfect. The next morning we went to Don Manuel's for the breakfast buffet, which we always enjoy. Aside from the food, the best part of this restaurant is the wonderful wait staff. They are sincerely the nicest guys (the hostesses are super nice too). We loved chatting with the waiters who we have seen the last couple of times we have stayed there, and the fact that they remembered us was also so nice. Victor was there every day and really just was so warm and welcoming, and such a pleasure to talk to. Joel was there a couple of the days we were there, and he was also such a great guy. I wish I knew everyone's names, because they were all fantastic. We didn't have a single negative experience at the breakfast buffet. It was always one of the highlights of our day to go there. They always knew what we liked and made sure that it was there for us every morning. Now THAT'S service! After we spent a little time at the pool, I went to the spa for a massage. Danny arranged this for me, and the women at the spa were so warm and welcoming. There was some family health issues that we're dealing with back home and I was in tears upon entering the spa. They brought me some Kleenex and a warm towel to wipe my face, and they just genuinely cared about my well-being. I had a 110 minute massage, and I think I might have fallen asleep like 7-8 times because it was that fantastic and relaxing. If I could have had a 220 minute massage, I would have. They gave me a special birthday bracelet and some chocolates afterward, which was so sweet of them. On my actual birthday on Saturday, 8/29, Danny brought me a gift and a delicious chocolate tres leches cake, and some beautiful cards from him and the ladies at the boutique. I mean, I couldn't have felt any more special than I did being there. They treated my birthday like it was a holiday, and I am forever grateful. After losing my mom in May, this was a hard birthday to celebrate, and I am so happy that I was able to be at the WA celebrating it with my extended Waldorf family. Dinner that evening was at the new steakhouse there called Mar Y Lena, which is in the palapa by the pool. OMG, the view! Breathtaking. Might even be better than the view at El Farallon. And the service, WOW!! Top tier service. There was a little sign at the table wishing me a happy birthday, and our menus were all customized for my birthday. I was grinning from ear to ear. They even brought me a drink with a photo of me and my family printed on the foam on top of it. The level of service was a 12 out of 10. The food was also amazing. Hopefully they open full time and not just on the weekends. We can't wait to go back there for another meal the next time we visit. Once we returned to our room, the housekeeper, Lucy, had left some rose petals on the bed that spelled out HBD, and she left a beautiful little heart shaped jewelry box and a super sweet card. The whole day was just so perfect. <3 I really can't say enough wonderful things about the Waldorf. The level of customer service is beyond exceptional and I really don't think it can be matched anywhere else. This hotel is truly my forever happy place. It is the only place I wanted to be for my birthday and they really just went above and beyond any expectations that I had. Every single person who works there, from the bell men, to the hotel drivers, to the concierge, the wait staff, the butlers, the pool guys, the spa staff, the boutique staff, etc...are genuinely 5 star employees. I would recommend anyone and everyone to stay at this hotel at least once in your life. I promise, you won't want to go anywhere else! I know I sure don't want to. Thank you for another perfect trip to Cabo! Sending lots of love to you all and can't wait to see you all again soon!!

Incredible service from start-to-finish! The staff was so kind and our main person we worked with (Jay) was so helpful, patient, and accommodating. Our room was gorgeous and every time we came back there were so many thoughtful touches (lit candles, room tidied up and items organized beautifully, a bookmark placed in our books!!). I especially loved the room’s plunge pool- that was so refreshing to come back to after a hot day, and we enjoyed it in the mornings while we drank our coffee! The food at every restaurant was delicious and the hotel offers plenty of offsite activities and adventures! It was such a wonderful experience and I am sad it had to end!

Nothing short of amazing

Our stay at the Waldorf Astoria los Cabos, Pedrigal was nothing short of amazing. Driving through the mountainside to arrive on the other side with a free margarita and an unobstructed view of the Pacific was quite the introduction. Our concierge, Fabian, sorted out all the day trips we wanted to experience. All we had to do was head to the entrance and wait for our ride to shuttle us to the offsite adventures. All of his suggestions for trip outfitters, restaurants and places to visit were 5 star amazing. When we were onsite we ate most meals at Don Miguel’s and were not disappointed the lobster tacos were out of this world, the pork tacos were also a favorite. I would say our meal at el Farillion was not great. The cliff side seating was amazing, but the meal and price were a disappointment. I’d skip the experience or just go for cocktails. The spa was amazing, and the adult pool at the swim up bar was great. It was heated just enough to ward off the chill and was never really crowded. The waiters were available to take a meal order or drink order, move an umbrella or bring a fresh towel. We texted Fabian and had an extra room key brought to us at the bar after we locked ourselves out of our room. The room service was amazing. Clean up in the morning and turn down service at night. The little mat placed by the bed where we could wipe the sand off our feet before hopping into bed was a nice touch. We throughly enjoyed our private plunge pool and spent many hours lounging in the pool and watching the waves and boats pass by. Can’t forget to mention the daily chips, guacamole and coronitas delivered daily around 4 along with the free bottle of tequila left on the entryway table we took advantage of. The cute complementary burlap bag left for us in the closet was the perfect extra carton bag for all the little gems we left the peninsula with. What amazed me most was how the staff greeted us by name and remembered drink orders and preferences and even asked about our previous excursions. What was surprising is that the resort was at 70% capacity but we felt like we received extremely personalized attention. Would highly recommend. We will be booking another visit back to the Waldorf again soon.
