The Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo

We have returned from a beautiful five-day stay at the Nile Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Cairo. It was a lovely experience and we highly recommend this property and its Nile River views. Our visit was made all the more gracious by the staff at the Club Lounge and its manager Ramy Ahmed. He and his professional staff took care of our every need -- from booking tours, to offering directions to talking with us about the region. They also went the extra mile when I became ill, calling a doctor and having medications delivered to our room at night. They really offered world-class service and also compassion. They followed up to check on us and to ensure i was feeling well. I can't say enough about how this team went the extra mile for us every day. The food at the club lounge was wonderful and high-level. We highly recommend booking a club-level stay. Thank you to everyone for making our first trip to Egypt so special.

We had a wonderful room with a fantastic view over the Nile, which was especially spectacular in the evening. The bed was very comfortable. You could hear a bit of traffic noise, which we have also experienced in other Ritz-Carlton hotels when the windows face the street or sea side, even on higher floors. However, I had brought earplugs and slept perfectly well. One of the highlights of our stay was the flexibility and generosity of the front desk. Our room was already ready for us before 10 a.m., which I found extraordinarily generous. We were also allowed to check out at 4 p.m. instead of 3 p.m. as originally agreed. I wasn’t feeling very well and we still had a morning trip to the Pyramids, so this extra hour really helped. They even offered me a complimentary cup of chamomile tea to help me feel better, which I thought was a very kind gesture – and it actually did help. Thank you for that. We booked our Pyramids tour through the hotel concierge, Mr. Maged, who had already sent us an email one or two days before our arrival with all the different activity options during our stay. This made planning very easy and convenient. Maged happened to be present both at our check-in and our check-out, and it felt very reassuring to see the same friendly, professional face throughout our stay. He was consistently helpful, professional, and very dedicated, and contributed a lot to our positive experience. In the evening, we had dinner in one of the hotel’s restaurants next to the bar, and the next morning the same venue operated as “Collina” for breakfast. Breakfast there was excellent – everything was well presented, tasty, and the service was attentive. We also visited the Sweet Boutique in the lobby, where we tried some of the small cakes and éclairs. All of them were very delicious, and together with the pleasant live music in the background, it created a very relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. Like many other Ritz-Carlton properties, the hotel also has several shops and even its own small bank, where we were able to get Egyptian currency to pay our tour guide. This was very practical and saved us extra hassle. What stood out to me personally in a very positive way was the overall atmosphere in the hotel. No matter if we were in the elevator, in the corridors, or in the lobby, there were always very pleasant fragrances in the air. This had a surprisingly strong positive effect on our well-being and our overall impression of the stay. Another big plus was the English level of the staff. The entire team, including housekeeping, spoke very good English, which made communication easy and smooth at all times. Housekeeping staff were always attentive and very friendly whenever we met them in the corridor. Overall, it was a very, very good stay, and I can absolutely recommend The Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo.

I stayed at the Nile Ritz-Carlton from November 2nd to November 8th. This is a beautiful hotel with great amenities. The pool area is nice and guests have access to the sauna and steam room. The fitness center is a good size and has equipment that you will find in most gyms. The best part of my staff was the staff. Except for one hiccup in the lobby lounge area when I was ignored until I complained, the staff was friendly, responsive and accommodating. I must give special mention to Mohammed Kammal (turn town service) and Abdellatef Zakria from housekeeping. They kept my room neat and tidy and made sure I had plenty of toiletries and water. I also want to give special mention to Bilal who works in the hotel lounge area. He took immediate steps to resolve my complaint and apologized for the role that the hotel wait staff played in my discomfort.

At reception, Mazen was incredibly helpful and patient — he handled everything with genuine professionalism and kindness, ensuring that the check-in process was smooth and pleasant. His calm and accommodating attitude truly set the tone for my stay. During my visit, i attended a wedding there and the waiter Aly Negm also stood out for his excellent service. He was attentive, swift, and focused, always anticipating what was needed without ever being intrusive. His attention to detail and warm manner made the dining experience exceptional.

The official response given to the review below complaining about the noise in the City View rooms is generic, has been given many times before and has changed absolutely nothing. However, when we made a complaint direct to the management concerning the (appalling) nighttime noise in our City View room they could not have been more helpful. They immediately arranged to move us to a suite on the Nile side from which we could hear nothing, except for a bit of traffic noise. Our family stay at the hotel was hugely enhanced by the friendliness, care and professionalism of all the staff. We felt valued and very well looked after. Special mention for the Club Lounge, complete with children’s playroom, the use of which really enhanced our stay. It was an excellent facility, calm when we were there, and well managed.
