Fairmont Palliser

Wow! Our stay at the Fairmont Palliser in Calgary was such a pleasure. The staff were so friendly and helpful that we felt like royalty. It made our 35fth Anniversary very memorable. Neha from the Fairmont Palliser / Gold treated us like royalty and we will never forget her. Our recap of this visit will include her every time. The staff kept that high standard up flawlessly. Thank you to every staff member we met, especially Neha. It was a five star experience for the two days we stayed and we can't wait to return.

A great service from a lovely hotel. We were too early to check in but we managed to get our car valet parked and they took our luggage for us. We had a couple of drinks in the bar which was very nice. The room was nice and spacious once we checked in and they brought us fizz and cake for my sister's 40th which was lovely.

Central hotel in Calgary, room was ok but a bit dated and could do with a refurb. Bathroom was small. We weren't 'gold' as everybody seems to comment on so this is probably why. We were at the back of the hotel overlooking the train track and boy it was noisy. It was as though the window wasn't shut but we checked it, it definitely was so perhaps they need to check the seals. We were offered an upgrade when we arrived so to be fair we should have taken it, however as it was only for one night we thought how bad can it be ! Staff were pleasant enough and the guys outside helped with the bags and parked the car. Overall can't complain for one night but recommend taking the upgrade !!

We stayed here one night at the end of a Rocky Mountaineer trip through Canada. It was a luxurious hotel in the heart of the city. The staff was very welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. Our room was quite large, lovely, and comfortable. We were in a Fairmont Gold room which gave us access to the Fairmont Gold Lounge which provided breakfast and snacks throughout the day. The only negative about the room was that we had a tub/shower combination and my wife and I both slipped in the tub multiple times but did not fall. We looked all over the bathroom for a rubberized mat to place in the tub with no luck. I mentioned it to the receptionist on checkout and was assured that they would address it.

My guy and I stayed here at the beginning of our journey on Rocky Mountaineer. Because our plane was late getting in, we did not get checked in until midnight. We were suppose to have the "upgraded" hotel package which included a "gold" room at The Fairmont. With the gold room, access to their gold lounge is included. This means free breakfast in the morning. When we checked in, we were told that we were to go to the restaurant in the morning for our free breakfast. We assumed that we were too late for a gold room so breakfast in the restaurant was compensation. Our room was nice but so small that we could not have both suitcases open at the same time. I have a hard time believing that we were put in a gold room. In the morning we made our way to the restaurant and ordered our breakfast, assuming that it was part of our Rocky Mountaineer reservation. After all , it was confirmed at check-in that breakfast was free and we had been instructed to go there. After ordering our meal, we were informed by the hostess that we would be responsible for our breakfast (over $100 CA with tip). We tried explaining the situation with the hostess and she was nice but firm that breakfast was NOT included with our reservation (I even had it in our travel documents that it was). We had a bus to catch so I was not able to get it straightened out at the front desk. So we paid our bill and headed out to our bus. I've tried to contact the hotel by phone but can't find the right person to talk to. What should have been a wonderful stay at a beautiful hotel ended up being a frustration with an expensive breakfast.
