Stay away from this hotel. What Meliá South Beach is running is a commercial scam combined with a total disregard for guest safety. I had booked and explicitly requested a quiet room away from the elevator well in advance. Upon arrival, I was hit with a classic bait-and-switch: I was told my room was "unavailable" and was offered to pay an extra supplement for an "upgrade." This paid upgrade turned out to be an absolute nightmare. The room had zero soundproofing and was located literally 10 meters over a loud beachclub operating till late. Even worse, the terrace door lock was completely broken, meaning anyone could have walked into my room from the outside. This is a massive, illegal violation of basic hotel security regulations. In fact, the hotel’s own General Manager inspected the room and explicitly admitted to me that it was unfit to be sold and should never have been assigned. When I tried to get help, the front desk staff showed a shocking lack of professionalism, lied to my face, and refused to assist me. I was forced to call Meliá’s global customer service in the middle of the night just to escape that trap, ultimately cancelling a €2,500 booking and relocating to another hotel to save my vacation. The worst part? The corporate cover-up and censorship. Following my stay, the hotel emailed me asking for feedback. I submitted a detailed review on their official Meliá website, but they deleted and censored it because it didn't fit their marketing narrative (while publishing other, newer positive reviews). Now I know why their official website rating is so artificially high: they simply trash honest negative reviews from high-spending guests to hide their structural failures. To top it off, after sending formal complaints to the Guest Experience Manager and putting Meliá’s Corporate HQ in copy, I have received absolute silence. Zero replies, zero accountability. Disgraceful customer service, deceptive commercial practices, and unsafe rooms. Avoid at all costs.

Our stay here was amazing! Exceptionally clean hotel. All staff look so happy to work here and there is nothing that isn’t too much trouble. We stayed in one of the Level Junior suites (Room 206). The view is amazing and even when there is music coming from outside you can shut the balcony doors and it almost blocks it out. Breakfast was perfect every single morning. It is simply a slice of paradise. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Stayed with my wife and 2 children in a junior suite, could not fault the room. The hotel is also very nice, the staff were really friendly and it was an all round nice holiday. We had Halfboard breakfast was nice so was dinner, the only thing I would say is the lunch restaurant has a very up market menu not great for children, you have to eat in the restaurant and not round the pool, and they don’t really do “light bites” like pizza, wraps, sandwiches etc. you can get all that across from the hotel and eat it round the pool, so not sure why the hotel doesn’t do it as they are losing money! The other thing was a bad smell of “drains” in the main reception every day. These are minor things, but the little things count. 7/10

Sitting at the airport following a fantastic break at the Meliá South Beach. From start to finish the experience has been perfect . Alex expertly handled our check in and we were pleased to find our room available at noon. Room facilities fantastic ! - modern large balcony , tea and coffee facilities , stand alone bath tub by the window . All spotlessly clean . The level - absolutely worth every penny , superior breakfast , cocktail hour and the team made you feel extra special. A huge thank you to the whole team who made our stay incredible . We will be back soon!
