Clean hotel but some cons

Hotel was very clean which was great. Breakfast was good, lots of variety with fruit, pastries, eggs, bacon, sausages, coffee and drinks. Pool was also big and there was two, one was adults only. I would say there isn’t enough sunbeds around the pool for how many guests there are so we did struggle a couple of times to get beds. Some staff were very helpful and others weren’t, one male in particular was very rude and unhelpful upon arrival, he gave us no information about breakfast / our room or anything. However two girls at reception were good help. There is a shop opposite the hotel which is good to get bits in from. When buying drinks from the pool bar the service is so so slow. They are in no rush to serve you and is annoying. I wouldn’t recommend eating at the pool ‘restaurant’ food was like it was frozen and very expensive for what they were and the woman working there is so miserable. Overall I wouldn’t rush back to this hotel but the main things were it was very clean and spacious rooms

Great hotel

Loved our 4 night stay and wish it could have been longer! Room and hotel in general very clean, breakfast was excellent and loved the adult only pool where we always managed to get a sunbed after breakfast. All the staff we met were fantastic. The hotel is located on the beachfront so perfect for walking along to restaurants in the evening.

Disappointing

The only two positive facts about this hotel are the reception and the breakfast/restaurant. Otherwise the cleanliness of the room is a catastrophe. The floor is dusty and dirty. The mirror of the bathroom is never cleaned even though we can clearly see how dirty it is. We arrived one day late to our room to find the window opened so the room was extremely hot, the garbage bin wasn’t emptied, the used glass wasn’t changed, the towels were placed on the lid of the toilet, we didn’t have a shower mat. To be fair, we called the receptionist and he was very helpful, he came to the room and fixed everything (unfortunately, I forgot his name). You can never relax in this hotel because of the loud music and people screaming across the floor even in the middle of the night. One incident happened where the guests next to us were fighting and screaming in a very heavy way at the limit where it was dangerous. We called the security three times before they get to the floor. Lack of communication was another issue. We spent 4 days before a guy came from nowhere to tell us we have to pay 25€ to be able to sit on the beach chairs of the hotel. It wasn’t written anywhere and they’ve never told us previously. Finally, I don’t recommend the area where is this hotel located. Mallorca is a beautiful island and Magaluf/Calvia lack the authenticity, the beauty and the charm we found everywhere else around the island.

Fabulous 4 days

We stayed here from 14 may for 4nights. We were a family of 5 and had 2 junior level suits. The rooms are so big and spacious. Lovely shower and large bath. We were half board. The food was great. Lots of choice. The service in this hotel is amazing. Every member of staff is so helpful and has a smile. Claudia on reception is fabulous. This beautiful lady couldn’t do enough for us. We cannot wait to return. Thank you so much to this great hotel

Extremely disappointing experience with the front desk staff on Saturday morning

Our stay at Meliá South Beach was unfortunately overshadowed by a very negative experience with the reception staff on Saturday morning. From the moment we approached the front desk with a service request that had been previously agreed upon, we were met with an unhelpful, dismissive, and frankly rude attitude. Despite waiting for over an hour, there was no initiative from the staff to follow up or provide any updates. When we attempted to politely express our frustration and remind them of the agreement, the situation escalated unnecessarily. Rather than listening or offering any kind of solution, one of the staff members responded in an aggressive manner and even went so far as to threaten to call security, simply because we were asking for clarity and accountability. This kind of hostile and unprofessional behavior is absolutely unacceptable, especially from front-of-house staff who represent the face of the hotel. There was a complete lack of empathy, zero proactivity in resolving the issue, and no effort to acknowledge the inconvenience caused. What should have been a smooth and enjoyable experience turned into a stressful and frustrating encounter that left us feeling unwelcome and disappointed. It's unfortunate that such poor treatment at the reception tainted what could have been a pleasant stay. We hope the management takes this feedback seriously, as no guest should be treated this way.
