The Lake House on Canandaigua

WOW!!! What an incredible two nights at The Lake House on Canandaigua. Beautiful setting on the north end of the lake. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. David our waiter at the Rose Tavern was awesome as well as Amanda the hostess. We had an incredible dinner there. Worth the trip.

Service by David and staff was exceptional. Highly recommend for service and food. The short rib, cauliflower steak, Cesar and beratta were top level.

Delightful two-night experience. Granted it is off-season but the entire place feels warm and cozy. Even though the cottages involve a bit of a walk to the main building, it would normally not be a problem, except it was windy and rainy some of the time. Library/Bar is a great place for grab and go breakfast and evening beverage with a fireplace and board games available. The king room was comfortable with Google Chromecast allowing me to stream just about everything I have a subscription to at home. Also, a Bluetooth speaker allowed me to play music from my iPhone. Huge bathroom with walk-in shower. Room was spotless, clean, comfortable, cozy. Daily housekeeping service. For the most part, noise wasn't an issue. But, on my second night, the evening before Thanksgiving, there were many more families including children. But, that was only brief. My two meals in Rose Tavern, breakfasts, were delicious. Service was excellent. It is high end dining but with an incredible location overlooking the lake. Off-season it was an affordable cost. I'm not sure I would be able to afford to stay in the high season of summer into autumn. Still, a great value. As a Rochester resident looking for a staycation, I felt like I was more than just a 45 minute drive from home. I was sad to leave and look forward to returning.

We had the honor of being served on Thanksgiving night by Reagan at Rose Tavern! We are so grateful because she made our Thanksgiving dinner so special. She is so sweet and pays attention to every detail, not to mention she is extremely personable and spent time talking with us. We really felt taken care of! Ask to have her be your server if you come here, you won't be disappointed. The food and drinks were so delicious too!
