The Lake House on Canandaigua

The Lake House on Canandaigua is one of those rare places that gets everything right. From the swoon-worthy interior design and killer dining options to the genuinely warm and impeccable staff, every detail made our stay feel special for my partner and I. We were incredibly grateful for the upgrade to a room overlooking the lake — an unforgettable way to experience this beautiful property. Anders and Brett at Rose Tavern, Nolan in the Library, and Sandra in housekeeping all went above and beyond and made us feel genuinely cared for. The garden tour by John was more like a moveable feast, and not to be missed. The complimentary nightly s’mores are a brilliant little touch — two chocolate chip cookies with marshmallows, and the fireplace room across from Rose Tavern is the perfect cozy nook to warm up with a cocktail. And somehow, my initials were on everything, which felt like the universe had planned the whole stay just for me. Thank you so much, 1970 LH OC. We’ll see you again soon, if we’re lucky.

Everyone was so friendly and accomodating. We went for a relaxing get away after getting married. Local breweries are great as are the vineyards. Would definitelt return!

Such a beautiful, relaxing stay! Rooms had such nice touches! Grounds were meticulously kept. Restaurant was with perfect views and delicious meals. Could not have found a nicer place to stay! Loved the “Good Morning “ , “Good Afternoon “, “Good Evening “ rugs in the elevator!!! Perfect stay!!

I frequent the Library Bar for my weekly caffeine fix, and my experience is never less than wonderful. Nolan is often working on the days that i'm there, and I can't say enough about his kindness and his ability to make the *perfect* americano! Nolan, along with the other staff members that I've met, create a welcoming environment that is unmatched, and the coffee is the best in the area, hands down.

Amazing time whole place is beautiful - Mikey P’s cocktails in 1833 were amazing best I’ve had!
