The Lake House on Canandaigua

My friends and I stayed Wednesday - Saturday and it was exactly what you would want a hotel stay to be: relaxing and quiet with anticipatory, polite and professional staff, and amenities that never leave you bored or wanting for anything. We read that they were recently featured in the Michelin Guide, which was a big factor in us booking this property over other hotels we were eyeing in and around the Finger Lakes, and we are so happy we did. Every detail has been thought of. Definitely make time for the garden tour, and their charted sunset boat cruise, also, their Sand Bar which sits right on the water's edge, was our meeting spot ever for cocktails. Rose Tavern is their upscale dining option - think, water glasses never empty, chef touching the table - this restaurant is first-class. We would end our nights by the fire pits outside our rooms in the comfy Adirondack chairs, laughing and looking up at the stars. I've never felt so present and calm. What a gem of a property this is. We are planning to come back every year now for our annual girls trip. Oh - my favorite feature, funnily enough, were the sparkling and still water dispensers. I drink A LOT of water and abhor plastic bottles and typically hotels are the worst culprits of this waste, but at Lake House, they put refillable bottles in your room and the chilled tap or sparkling water is endless. It's a dream. If you're thinking about booking - don't. Just do it. You won't be disappointed. To the staff, if you ready this, thank you for making our trip so memorable, we needed that. My wife and I had such a great stay here. Words cannot express the amazing stay we had but my wife was able to put on her Instagram page the amazing stay we had. This was a top-notch visit from the moment I walked in the front entrance. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. My room was on the 3rd floor, overlooking the canal and lake. Gardens are right below me. It was fantastic. I went to the spa for the 'Deep Sleep' massage, which was great. Amy was perfect. I walked the grounds and sat out by the water. Dinner was superb - got the pork chop with sticky Brussels. OMG.

The property is absolutely beautiful located in the most prime spot of Canandaigua ! We had a few drinks in what they call the library bar before dinner and Makayla was wonderful. Her espresso martinis were the best we have ever had. Cozy and quiet atmosphere but she was the light in the room. We can’t wait to back

Girls trip with my mom and sister. We were apprehensive because of some mixed reviews. However, we were very pleased with out stay. The receptionist was kind and welcoming. Champagne was offered upon arrival. I am expecting and the receptionist noticed and offered me sparkling grape juice, which was very kind. The property is stunning. Pool is heated and was great even on a chilly April day. Every staff member we encountered said hello and gave a smile. We ate at the Sand Bar and the food was great. Only complaints are that the walls are thin. We were also the room right off of the stairs. Also, signage could be a bit better. It was hard for us to find our room (we were not in the main building) and it's unclear where the bathroom is from the pool. Overall, fantastic stay and we will be back!
