Rising from the site of a grand old Canary Islands estate is the decade-old Gran Hotel Bahia del Duque, situated on the south coast of Tenerife and part of Leading Hotels of the World. Spread across 17 subtropical acres, this Spanish resort resembles a magnificent village, with a collection of nearly two dozen oceanfront buildings housing spacious rooms and suites, many with seaside views. The resort is completely full service, with 6 swimming pools, a trio of tennis courts, two squash courts, a fitness center, massage therapy, putting green and plenty of water activities.

We stayed at the villas, and everything was sublime. True 5 star accommodation and service. We would go down to the restaurants on the main hotel for dinners and the food at Sua and Kensei was exceptional. The villas are offset and provide a very calm and private experience with a private pool and a villas large pool. Breakfast there was also calm and its service 5 star. I can’t recommend this experience enough. It’s our third time staying at the villas and fourth time at Bahía. The villas are the best on the island. And the hotel at large is gorgeous. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom spacious and comfortable. Housekeeping, room service and pool and bar staff were extraordinary.

Great Location, spacious grounds never felt crowded. The rooms were large and comfortable. The rooms were serviced twice a day. We overlooked the gardens. The location was quite but close to all the facilities A real 5 star experience at a reasonable price

The concierge service called Club House was terrible. Staff disinterested. I asked about the restaurant NUB, they never warned me of a €300 cancellation fee. Hotel needs a full rethink - the 30 year old model now out of date. Wasn’t helped by a storm over Tenerife this week
