Great hotel, air conditioning disabled during winter is a problem.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

This is a very traditional hotel with a lot of great facilities, the staff were exemplary and the golf course and practice facilities were very good, the greens in particular were excellent. There were some areas on the fairways that were patchy but we played pick and place so this didn’t impact our game. The bunkers are the only part of the course that really lets it down, there is very little sand making it impossible to play a regular bunker shot. One thing that was a real issue is that this hotel disables the air conditioning during the winter, the weather during out stay (early December 25) was very warm which was great for golf but not so great when trying to sleep as the bedroom was unbearably hot, the prevalence of mosquitoes meant that opening the windows at night was not an option. Had the air conditioning been turned on this would have been a five star review and this would be a favourite destination for winter golf. As it is we are unlikely to return unless the hotel changes its policy regarding air conditioning during winter months.

Very relaxing golfing holiday good hotel very clean and comfortable quiet and peaceful. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is of good quality. If you like mixed couples golfing this is the place for winter sun.

Okay stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We stayed here on a half-board basis. As long-time Fuerteventura fans, we’ve been trying out the island’s higher-end hotels, and the arrival hall here certainly makes a strong first impression. The location is ideal for anyone who enjoys golf or wants to give it a try. Our room was spacious and pleasant as well. Dinner, however, fell short. The buffet starters felt ordinary, and the main dishes were often disappointing. We enjoy good food and usually look for quality restaurants at home, so this was a letdown. Staff interactions were mixed: some were genuinely friendly, while others seemed worn out and rather impersonal. For example, at checkout no one asked if our stay had been satisfactory, and a few responses during the stay were quite curt (our arrival also felt impersonal - the person had no time to give us an explanation but we should read the paper). In the room, the air conditioning didn’t work—apparently it’s turned off in winter, which was unfortunate. The pool area was refreshing, but the sunbeds really need a morning clean; a few had clear traces (sh*t) of pigeons. If this were a 4-star hotel, I’d give it a 4/5. But for a 5-star, I expected more.

Retirement treat!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Our first stay here to celebrate our retirement and my “significant “ birthday. Overall the experience was amazing. There is some small niggles such as the shower cubicle is quite small and getting the right temperature is a chore in itself. We had a golf view suite and quite possibly the best room we’ve ever had in our 35 years of travelling. Great view of the driving range and beyond to the sea, spent some time watching the many “varied” swings from the balcony. The evening meals were very nice with a good variety of choice. I played one round whilst there and the course was, in my opinion, in really good condition given the traffic on there. Yes , some tees were a bit ragged and there was some patches on the fairways but this didn’t spoil my experience in any way. Something to watch out for though if you’re a resident in the hotel and want to play the course, the hotel has absolutely no connection to the course and will not question any complaint you may have regarding golf on your behalf. I believe I was overcharged for my round as residents have a concession price and this wasn’t acknowledged by the pro shop or the hotel reception at departure!! That said, as I stated at the beginning, it’s a wonderful place with lovely staff, very clean, very peaceful, shuttle bus a must, a little isolated but that was ok with us. Would definitely return at some point!
