You Win Some Here, but You Lose Some

GOOD This is a beautiful place. The resort is beautiful, and the grounds and beach are nice. I was taken here for ten days for my 65th birthday September 14th - 24th, 2025. This made the eighth time between us we had been here. We opted for the Infinity Club this time, which adds several dollars to one’s bill. The Infinity Club on the 11th floor bartenders are fantastic. They are friendly, speak good English, and they know what they’re doing. The Infinity Club on the eleventh floor opens early every day - at 7:00. It’s nicely furnished and decorated. Our room was huge and nicely furnished. Most everyone everywhere is friendly and polite. Speaking English is not a problem. There’s a nice supermarket in walking distance that has everything you forgot at a good price. BAD If a person wants to get up early and get out and about, well they’re out of luck. It was almost impossible to get a cup of ice one morning at 9:00 on the beach. I had to leave the beach and walk up to the 11th floor to get the ice. Ice seems to be a premium item in general and so does air conditioning. Our room stayed too warm on the lowest air conditioning setting, and things were always damp in the room. Sometimes the coffee set up happened and sometimes it didn’t, and you’ll have to travel to get coffee if they didn’t leave it ready in your room. The Infinity Club, especially beachfront, is not worth the money. The servers on the beach at the Infinity Club were overwhelmed, and we often resorted to going to the regular area for drinks, where service is much better. Food was not fantastic anywhere and often seemed pre-prepared. As I said earlier, everyone is nice, but when there’s something wrong, and one asks for help, they just continue to smile and nod. I don’t know whether it’s a communication barrier or a coping mechanism - maybe because they couldn’t fix the problem? UGLY

Terrible Check-in/Check-Out & Terrible Food

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 21 hours ago

I stayed at the Grand Fiesta last year in 2024 and had a wonderful time, so I decided to come again and bring my mother for her first trip to Cancun. Immediately upon check-in I had terrible customer service by Naomi. She was rude and impolite. She left me and my mother standing at the counter for several minutes wondering where she went. She needs customer service training or should not be working directly with hotel guests upon arrival or departure. When I checked out, I also had Naomi again. She was even more cold and rude this time. She didn’t smile and only said two words. Also, she failed to provide me with the check-out slip, so when our pick-up ride arrived, I had to run back into the hotel and speak with the manager to receive the check-out slip. Naomi didn’t even tell me about the slip even though I told her we were leaving soon and waiting for our pick-up ride!! Such a terrible way to end our trip. The first and last employees guests see need to have the utmost professionalism and courtesy as this will greatly affect their overall experience at the resort and whether they return! Also, the food was absolutely terrible. One big reason I returned was because the food was excellent in 2024. Being in Mexico, we thought we would have Mexican food, but all they had was Italian, Indian, and Mediterranean at the buffet. Also, for breakfast the buffet was closed and a make-shift buffet was set-up in front of the downstairs restaurants. The pozole was good (one of the few Mexican food items), but they only had it once during our whole stay. The one dinner we did enjoy was the hibachi grill. Our only highlight was two special employees. The first was Lucy who worked in the inside lounge area in the evenings and was incredibly attentive and kind. We went to the lounge area three times because of her! She is a gem and I hope she is recognized for her hard work and dedication! The other highlight for our stay was Silvana who led a martini class. She is extremely knowledgeable of her bartending craft and is such a joy to be around! Another positive was that the bed was super comfortable, but the bathroom sink area was super tiny. I really wish they had two sinks. Sadly, overall, I will never return to the Grand Fiesta and will strongly tell all friends and family to avoid coming here. I hope management takes this review seriously and improves their customer service upon check-in and check-out and also their quality of food.

Balanced and Honest Review

The hotel overall is okay, but the facilities are noticeably outdated. Even the pool could be better maintained and more enjoyable. That being said, the food and service truly exceeded expectations — everything we tried was excellent, and the staff were consistently attentive and professional. Although the property itself is not at the highest standard, we still had a lovely time as a family and enjoyed the location

This hotel is luxurious and beautiful! The staff was always gracious and helpful and encouraged my attempts at speaking Spanish! :) The fresh flowers were lovely, the pool was marvelous, and the food for our conference was scrumptious!
