About the Hotel

The Riviera Maya has its share of luxury hotels, but sophisticated Grand Residences Riviera Cancun is a notable exception to the area's crowded mega resorts. The luxurious beachfront property only a half hour drive from Yucatan's busy hub is snugly protected by a nature reserve and is fronted by a private white sandy beach. The quaint fishing village of Puerto Morelos—famous for its coral reefs, dense jungle and quiet beaches—is a quick stroll away. Roomy villas and suites modeled after colonial-style haciendas are designed in hues of burnt orange with dark wood accents and colorful wall art. They face the turquoise waters of the Mexican Caribbean and include large living areas, kitchens and private terraces plus high-tech creature comforts such as complimentary wireless Internet access, iPod docks, and large LED-screen televisions.

Reviews for Grand Residences Riviera Cancun

Great for a family

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 21 hours ago

We really enjoyed this resort. We rented a villa (includes Master and Junior suite) which was PLENTY of room for my husband, me, and two kids. The food was great, there was never a problem finding a chair at the pool or beach and all of the staff were incredibly nice. We booked a photo session with the photographer, Adriana, and we were blown away by the pictures she took. My 16 year-old daughter even approved and she is picky when it comes to photos! I highly recommend this place.

Summer vacation

Really nice, calm, and laid back resort. Very relaxing! The Rooms need updating but the food was good and the amenities were nice for families. Staff were friendly, we really enjoyed our stay with some minor issues.

Wonderful

I love going there however, restaurants are limited and you need to make a reservation for your dinners all week long. Over all I do feel it is more personalized.

Our Grand Experience!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

If you like the all inclusive feel but not the loud and obnoxious that go with it, this is absolutely the resort! We are here now and I could not wait until the trip is done to write the review. I was a bit skeptical about the reviews that commented on lack of variety or bars closing early. A bit about or stay- we booked a master suite (2 adults , 2 teens) with the pool and contrary to the “only get an ocean facing room” reviews, we are close to the lobby and its quiet! If you like to sleep at night, you will (I’m a light sleeper). The amenities in the room are perfect! We did get mattresses pads for the murphy beds, but otherwise everything else in the room is more than we expected! To those who complained about the variety of food - not sure why: Breakfast has a wonderful buffet or you can order a la carte. Lunch has 3 options: Buffet, snack bar, and really good seafood options (ceviche, shrimp tacos, sashimi). I also have to comment on the freshness of the poolside options, the quality was top notch! Dinner has 2 options: Mexican or a themed restaurant that changes nightly - we tried both and both were equally phenomenal! The one thing that aligns with the other reviews (and we waited for this) the service and smiles here are unmatched! We are so happy we chose to have our family vacation here!

Relaxing!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Trip was relaxing! Having a private pool was great. Food at the restaurants tasted good. The water pressure in the shower felt amazing. All the staff were friendly and helpful, especially our concierge, Melissa! The complimentary airport transfers were convenient. Only negative was that there were two short episodes of blackouts. This place is best for relaxation but not if you want a lot of things to do.
