The Riviera Maya has its share of luxury hotels, but sophisticated Grand Residences Riviera Cancun is a notable exception to the area's crowded mega resorts. The luxurious beachfront property only a half hour drive from Yucatan's busy hub is snugly protected by a nature reserve and is fronted by a private white sandy beach. The quaint fishing village of Puerto Morelos—famous for its coral reefs, dense jungle and quiet beaches—is a quick stroll away. Roomy villas and suites modeled after colonial-style haciendas are designed in hues of burnt orange with dark wood accents and colorful wall art. They face the turquoise waters of the Mexican Caribbean and include large living areas, kitchens and private terraces plus high-tech creature comforts such as complimentary wireless Internet access, iPod docks, and large LED-screen televisions.

Room and food were top notch. Would have loved more activities at the resort, particularly at night. Activities during the day were fun, but after 4PM there were rarely any activities at the resort, aside from dinner. There were a couple planned that were cancelled, which were disappointing.

We had a great holiday here with out girls (8 & 12), with very little to complain about. What really sells this are the rooms (which were spacious and well equipped), and the servive, which was excellent all holiday. The location is great (as long as you want a fairly quiet holiday), and the view on the beach is about as good as you can get. The pool/beach service is first class, bringing you drinks and food orders if you want to eat on your sun lounger. The pool staff work so hard all day and we really appreciated it. The food ranged from good to excellent. Whilst there are nly two restaurants, they do a variety of theme nights so it doesn't get too repetative. We had a couple of meals that were a bt average, but mostly we were very happy. You can just get the room service if you want, 24 hours a day from the A La Carte menu. It can get quiet at night, with little entertainment, and that might suit some. We had brought some cards and had a laugh with some drinks. There was some beach volleyball and aqua aerobics in the pool in the day with some other activities. This hotel might be a bit quiet for some, but it really suited us

We loved our stay there. The resort was luxurious and we had booked a room with a private pool. The food was excellent and the resort did not feel crowded. The one negative about our stay was not about Grand Residences but in general about Cancun. We took private tours and our experience was that these private tour companies generally tried to upsell a lot when on a tour and then aggressively pushed for tips. Luckily that wasn’t our experience at the Grand Residences

This was the most awesome all inclusive that I’ve ever stayed at. The staff was extremely accommodating and our Villa was large and comfortable. Especially enjoyed our all inclusive package that included room service in the Villa. Our concierge Rene took very good care of us.

We had such a great time relaxing at the resort. We did an excursion to the cenote and our group had a fantastic time! The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. I love being able to reserve lounge chairs at either the beach or pool for the next day. It is so nice to not have to get up early to find chairs. Transportation is also safe and well organized. Liza was our lovely concierge and always willing to help if we needed anything. They even accommodated our larger group for dinners. This was our second visit and we would love to come again.
