The Riviera Maya has its share of luxury hotels, but sophisticated Grand Residences Riviera Cancun is a notable exception to the area's crowded mega resorts. The luxurious beachfront property only a half hour drive from Yucatan's busy hub is snugly protected by a nature reserve and is fronted by a private white sandy beach. The quaint fishing village of Puerto Morelos—famous for its coral reefs, dense jungle and quiet beaches—is a quick stroll away. Roomy villas and suites modeled after colonial-style haciendas are designed in hues of burnt orange with dark wood accents and colorful wall art. They face the turquoise waters of the Mexican Caribbean and include large living areas, kitchens and private terraces plus high-tech creature comforts such as complimentary wireless Internet access, iPod docks, and large LED-screen televisions.

The Grant Residences is truly a luxury resort experience. We went with our entire extended family and fully enjoyed our holiday here. Shoutout to Eduardo and Margarito for taking care of us at the restaurants. Special thanks to Efraim, Kevin, Abel and Jesus for welcoming us and attending to us at the pool. We're already scheming for our return next year.

I truly enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of Grand Residences. The resort grounds are immaculate, the service was warm, and the accommodations made for a relaxing getaway. That said, I do have a few pieces of feedback that I hope are helpful. First, the pool area—while stunning—felt underutilized. There was very little energy or engagement throughout the day. I would have loved to see more adult-friendly activities like water volleyball, poolside yoga, aqua aerobics, or fun water games to create a livelier, more social environment. A bit of consistent music or themed events could really enhance the atmosphere without taking away from the relaxation. However, the most frustrating part of my stay was an unexpected $1,300 charge at check-in. The attempt to "make it right" involved asking me to sit through a 90-minute program—taking valuable time away from my family—only to be offered activity tickets that did not come close to making up for the surprise expense. This left a negative impression on an otherwise positive stay, especially since that money could have been spent on family experiences we missed out on. As an author who leads retreats, I see great potential in Grand Residences as a future retreat location for my readers. The setting is ideal for rest and renewal. That said, transparency around pricing and avoiding last-minute surprises would be essential for me to confidently recommend it to others. Thank you for taking the time to consider this feedback. I hope it helps strengthen the experience for future guests.

Just back from an amazing trip at Grand Residences. We booked a last minute trip to go here. We are Royal Hacienda owners and saw a special online that we took advantage of. We visited the resort 10 years ago to attend a presentation. While we did not buy we were extremely impressed. The resort is beautiful. Very luxurious and you are treated like family. ROOM - We had a junior suite which is a very oversized hotel room. You have a couple of closets and a large dresser for your clothes. The bathroom is huge with an oversized bath, a shower and toilet room. They provide you with high end toiletries made by Bvlgari. Also provide toothbrushes, toothpaste along with a disposable razor and shaving cream. All very nice touches. We had the king size bed which was very comfortable. We had a small balcony with two comfortable chairs. There is a small kitchen area. No stove or oven. The refrigerator was stocked with water, soda and some chocolates. They provided a small bottle of tequila along with a bowl of fruit and chips. The kitchen area provides plates glasses and utensils. Another nice touch was the beach bag they provide along with two fedoras. Maid service every day with fresh towels. Also a turndown service to provide you with additional waters. They also leave a token little toy POOL - There are two large pools. The adult pool which has a pool bar and a general pool that is close to the beach. Water was very nice and refreshing. The pool service is amazing. You can reserve your chairs by 5pm the night before. So no need to rush down at the crack of dawn to get chairs. You get two lounge chairs, a chair and a small table. Your lounge chairs will have a towel on them when you arrive in the morning. Once the pool staff sees you arrive they will come over with additional towels. They will open up the umbrella and provide you with bottles of water. A big shout out to Chez who after meeting us on the first day knew our name and even our room number and greeted us each day. While all the staff was great, she was just exceptional. Pool opens up at 7am and I believe closes at 10 but the pool bar closes at 7 POOL BAR - Very large bar with any type of liquor you can think of. Raul was the bartender when we were there and he was great. Knew our drink preferences and was quick to get them made. RESTAURANTS - There are two main restaurants along with a beach restaurant. Heaven is the beach bar. We ate here several times. The ceviche is great and fantastic shrimp tacos. I could just made them my meals for the entire trip. The two restaurants are connected and opens up to one for breakfast. For breakfast you can either do a buffet or order off a menu. The buffet was very good. They will make you fresh omelettes, eggs, waffles and pancakes. For lunch you can go to the beach bar or the restaurant. The lunch options are amazing. For one lunch i had a fish platter and it was really good, The restaurants at night have different themes. For example one night one restaurant will do a Mexican cuisine while the other does an Italian theme. We had French, Mexican, Italian and an International cuisines while we were there. If you love fish, you will love it here. Overall my wife and i were extremely happy with the food and the service. You can get dressed up or be more casual and feel comfortable here. CONCIERGE- You are assigned a concierge for your stay. They will make all your restaurant reservations for you ( which is necessary and should be done on your first day). They can also take care of your tours, car service and any issues you might have. Our concierge was Jane. She was extremely nice and helpful. She called the night before our arrival and took care of our reservation for the first night. The resort is a timeshare and offers an all inclusive option. We had the all inclusive and for the most part everything for drinks and food is included We have been at many resorts and timeshares and will say that this is the best of the best!

Great accommodations. Staff went above and beyond in about every interaction we had with them. We were constantly impressed by a lot of little details that they did. It really did fell like they were going our of their way to make us feel special, which we did. Would highly recommend!

Excellent, relaxing experience at a beautiful resort. The hospitality and customer service was impeccable. I highly recommend this resort if you're looking for a quiet place to relax. Not the place if your looking to party or nightlife experience.
