Luxury Residences by Villa del Palmar Cancun

2 bedroom penthouse was a wonderful room for the family. We loved the ocean view. Everything from check in to check out was well cared for. Otikio and Rafael did a wonderful job finding us and checking in on us throughout the entire stay. The kids loved the kids club and the teachers there did also absolutely amazing, I would bring them there again. Overall I would recommend going here. Food was good, nothing to complain. The only thing we were not fond of is their trying to get you to listen into a marketing presentation and that gets you some discounts for some activities etc…. We did not to the presentation, but if you don’t mind listening to that and save some money, that works. But I’m not a fan of having do deal with that on vacation but I understand that it’s business opportunities for them.

We had a great time here. Check in was a breeze with Fabiola, our concierge. We did the all inclusive plan which Is a must in my opinion. Service was spot on at the restaurants, bars, housekeeping, pool side waiters etc. We had no trouble booking restaurant reservations although you should probably do it a couple days in advance to avoid having to eat too late or early. Really enjoyed the Sushi and steakhouse. Breakfast buffet was solid. We enjoyed the adults only pool as we don't have kids but found that it got a bit too hot in the afternoon. It was our first time staying at this resort and it was wonderful! Our most relaxing stay so far! The transportation to the airport was great, check in was quick and pleasant. Check in was quick and pleasant, thanks to Orlando! Our room (two bedroom ocean view) was beautiful, spacious and clean, very comfortable. The resort is beautiful, never had an issue at the pool or the beach! Plenty of pool chairs at both locations! All the staff is wonderful, friendly and welcoming, our favorite bartenders were Adrian, Daniel, Carlos and Gustavo. Adrian taught us about tequila, especially to my 20 year old and more importantly he told him how to drink it and to stay hydrated!!! Also Miguel at the beach bar and Gabriel at the pool, you are both amazing! I’ll post pics of them and if you see them pls get a drink and say hi, they won’t disappoint you! Restaurants were great, although the buffet was closed for dinner, however at breakfast time it was delicious! Special thanks to: Erik (Zama); Juvenicio (La Casona); Antonio (Davinos) ; Jorge (Legends) and the breakfast buffet staff at Caprichos! Room service was wonderful as well, everything on time and hot! Don’t know how they do it. Special thanks to Omar Sampedro and Raul Santoyo also to Michelle Rodriguez, for your service and the cookie platter, it was so sweet! Thank you to Rocio (concierge) for all of your help especially with my son’s special diet, it was cooked right away and he ate it all! Food and beverage manager Amr made sure we were well taken care of, thank you for everything! We wanted relaxation and this place was the perfect spot. FYI not a party resort which was great for us! We can’t wait to go back ❤️

Besides the resort being in the middle of no where and ridiculously high prices for everything the one thing that was the most disappointing is being double billed. We are Villa Group members for over 3 years now but the shadiness of this resort is beyond belief. When we were checking out on April 6/26 they ran my credit card for about $1,250 CAN in US funds, $950 US to The Tafer Group for our drink and meal tab. They said it was declined and I thought, “what the heck.” So they tried it again but this time under The Villa Group and in Mexican pesos and low and behold it went through. The next day I checked my credit card online and realized that both charges went through, the front desk lied to me. So I contacted them from home in Canada and they wouldn’t even talk about what happened let alone try and fix it. I put in a complaint with my credit card company and when doing so they informed me that this seems to be a common problem with the Villa group and Tafer, they’re owed by the same person. They do this then hope the person never notices it and when they do they deny it happened. The Credit Card company says I’ll get my money back but it’ll take about 3 months for it to happen. You buy into their membership, you pay good money to stay there, than they turn around and try and screw you out of more money. Please everyone, BEWARE
