Carlton Cannes, A Regent Hotel

I celebrated my birthday here and couldn't have expected a better experience; the hotel took care of every single detail. I felt very special—the room was like being in seventh heaven, located on the top floor with a balcony and a view of the Carlton Tower and the sea. They even surprised me with flowers, a birthday cake, and Moët & Chandon as a gift.

Where to begin? The hotel is magnificent of course, with beautiful rooms and wonderful decor throughout the public areas. It is breathtaking. If you love Art Deco you will be in heaven... We were fortunate to have a room with a view of the sea...it was outstanding! Lovely extras in the room too. The bar, Bar 58, is lovely for a beer or a cocktail to relax with and the breakfast next morning sets the day up nicely. The quality and choice is second to none. What really stood out to me though were the staff. They were truly faultless and could not do enough to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. In all my 20 plus years as an IHG member (and the majority of that time at top tier level) I cannot say that I have previously stayed in a hotel where the staff have actually made me feel like my experience really matters. I just cannot praise them highly enough. One member of the reception team made our stay unbelievable and I am so ashamed not to remember her name. Her insights into the hotel history were so appreciated and as a massive Cary Grant fan, she excelled with her knowledge of To Catch A Thief!! My partner and I would love to stay again...and hopefully we shall. Thank you all for making our stay in Cannes extra special.

I've stayed in hotels all over the world, including several Regent properties, and I can say without hesitation that the Carlton Cannes is by far the best. Plenty of hotels at this level get the basics right. What sets the Carlton apart is how consistently good it is, and the genuine warmth of the people who work there. This is not easy to be reproduced (the place I am now in Switzerland hasn't achieved this). The room was well appointed and a fantastic place to come back to. It was thoughtfully designed, comfortable and finished to a very high standard. Housekeeping was faultless throughout. The room was cleaned daily without fail, and the evening turndown service was a lovely touch that made it feel like coming home rather than coming back to a hotel room. Breakfast was exceptional. The quality, the choice and the service were all first class, and it set each day off perfectly. It's the kind of breakfast you look forward to the night before. The location needs little introduction: right on the Croisette, at the heart of Cannes. What surprised me was the atmosphere. Even outside the main season, there was a real buzz about the place, lively without ever feeling busy or losing its sense of calm. The standout of the whole stay, however, was the voiturier team. Excellent service is expected at a hotel of this calibre, but they went far beyond it. They were warm, humble and genuine every time I dealt with them, and their demeanour was second to none. They clearly love cars, took real care of mine, and kept it front of house every day a gesture I hugely appreciated. More than anything, I was treated honestly and personally, never as just another guest. That kind of service can't be trained into people. It comes from who they are, and the Carlton is lucky to have them. Service throughout. I don't seek special treatment, but very rarely do I experience the humility shown by them. The rest of the team matched that standard. From those handling luggage to reception and the concierge, everyone was attentive, friendly and unobtrusive. Checkout was seamless with bags collected from the room, the bill ready and the car waiting out front. In summary, the Carlton combines a world-class setting with service that feels genuinely personal, and that combination is rare. I'll certainly be back, and I'd recommend it without reservation. Amazing experience. Stunning beautiful hotel outside and inside. Staff were all wonderful - very friendly and helpful. Breakfast selection was one of the best we have ever seen across the world. The restaurant staff were delightful and funny. The gymnasium is well equipped with helpful staff and interesting yoga / stretch / dance classes. Overall incredible at the Carlton Cannes - a highlight of our tour. I recommend treating yourself to their hospitality.
