Why I would recommend this hotel: Carlton Cannes is one of those rare hotels where the experience begins the moment you walk through the entrance. An iconic property with an unmistakable sense of history, glamour and charm. It combines beautifully renovated interiors with an excellent location, outstanding facilities and the atmosphere of a true Côte d’Azur institution. Location The location is splendid. Situated directly on the Boulevard de la Croisette, the hotel is right in the heart of Cannes and perfectly positioned for enjoying everything the city has to offer (marina and the beautiful boutiques of central Cannes are both within easy walking distance). The Croisette itself is one of the most entertaining places in Cannes for people-watching, taking photographs and, of course, spotting the impressive cars that regularly pass by. The beach is directly opposite the hotel and is ideally situated for spending time by the Mediterranean. Only downside is that such a prominent location naturally comes with some noise. With cars, traffic and the constant activity of the Croisette, it can occasionally become rather lively. Check-in The arrival experience was phenomenal. From the very beginning, the team member assisting us was exceptionally professional, warm and clearly proud of the hotel. Rather than simply completing the formalities at reception, we were personally shown around the property, introduced to the facilities and then accompanied to our room, where the amenities and features were explained in detail. This created a very positive first impression and made the arrival feel genuinely personal rather than transactional. The welcome amenities were also particularly noteworthy and added another thoughtful touch to an already excellent arrival experience. Room Our room was in excellent condition and had clearly benefited from the hotel's recent renovation. The design successfully combines contemporary comfort with the timeless elegance one would expect from the Carlton, while the furniture and amenities are all of a very high quality. Attention to detail is evident throughout the room. Everything feels carefully considered, beautifully maintained and designed to provide a comfortable and luxurious stay. The bathroom, while spacious and finished to a high standard, could have benefited from a little more character. Given the size of the space, it felt somewhat empty and lacked some of the charm and personality found elsewhere in the hotel. Minibar is included and has got a lot to offer. The pressing service unfortunately didn't work perfectly. If available, I would strongly recommend booking a sea-view room. Hotel Facilities The hotel's facilities are excellent, although there is one particularly important point to mention: the beach club is not complimentary, even for hotel guests. Given the hotel's ownership, this may come as a surprise and is worth keeping in mind when booking. Like everything at this hotel: it's very expensive! That said, the beach club itself is exceptionally well run and is one of the highlights of the property. A special shoutout to Quentin, who delivered fantastic service and helped make the experience particularly enjoyable. The gym is large, beautifully maintained and very well equipped. It is divided into different areas and rooms, which provides a degree of privacy when exercising. The sauna is located separately inside the changing rooms, while the pool is situated within the hotel's beautifully maintained courtyard. Unfortunately, the pool itself does not offer a view, but the surrounding garden is exceptionally well cared for and creates a luxurious and peaceful atmosphere. Overall, the facilities reinforce the feeling that the Carlton is a genuine luxury destination rather than simply a place to sleep in Cannes. Restaurant Breakfast is beautifully presented and offers a very appealing selection of dishes. The quality of the products is very good and there is plenty to enjoy. The main weakness is the inconsistency of the service. Some members of the team are wonderfully attentive, offering to carry plates to the table and anticipating guests' needs, while others seem considerably less engaged and may not even return to clear the table. This creates a noticeable difference in the experience depending on who is looking after you. The food itself is very good. The bread could be improved but the pastries are genuinely delicious and are among the highlights of breakfast. A property like the Carlton Cannes should offer the a la carte dishes for free. Dinner is somewhat more unpredictable. On the best occasions, the kitchen delivers genuinely outstanding dishes with excellent execution. Unfortunately, there were also moments when dishes were overcooked or noticeably too salty. The contrast between the highs and lows was therefore quite significant. The beach club, however, is a different story. It is very well managed, the drinks are excellent and the Tiramisu is fantastic. It is definitely worth spending some time here during a stay. Bar The lobby bar has an excellent selection of patisserie, making it a very tempting place for an afternoon treat or a relaxed coffee. The main issue is again the service. At times, the team can give the impression that certain clientele receive noticeably more attention than others. For a hotel of this positioning, I would expect the level of attentiveness to be more consistent regardless of the guest. This is particularly noticeable because other areas of the hotel demonstrate that the Carlton is fully capable of delivering exceptional hospitality. Overall The hard product is excellent and some members of the team deliver precisely the level of service you would expect from an ultra-luxury property. At the same time, service consistency remains the main area for improvement. Some team members make you immediately understand why the Carlton belongs in this category, while others unfortunately provide a rather different impression. Despite these inconsistencies, the overall experience was very positive. The Carlton has a character and sense of place that cannot easily be replicated and simply entering the hotel already feels like stepping into a piece of Côte d’Azur history. You shouldn't care about the budget...

The Carlton without Aida just isn’t the Carlton anymore. It’s like Paris without the Eiffel Tower. She truly is the heart and soul of the place! Walah

We would like to sincerely thank Sebastien from the Valet Team for going the extra mile in making sure our cars were taken care of and handed over properly. He even assisted us in contacting the driver who will pick up the cars and we didnt even ask him for it. He answers very fast, very clear and with complete information so we always didnt have to worry. He even shared photos of cars being handed over to the pick up. It is always good to have a very reliable staff. Thank you so much Sebastien. We would also like to thank the Guest Relations Team Cathy, Joanna and to all for all the help.

Im staying in the hotel for 2 weeks and im still there..unfortunately when i wanted to have coffee they said its only for hotel guests i told them im a hotel guest and i know many of people in sitting who are not a hotel guests..her answer was sorry but they are the hotel manager friends!!!wow so its better to be a friend of the manager than to be a hotel guest!! I pay 2000 euros per night and i cant have a coffee in the lobby!! The other thing, they sent a sparking ice tea to the room and the ice was melted so i ask the housekeeper to replace it..another guy came with ice bucket And asked me to pay 10 euros for the ice!!!i told him ill not py and you can have your ice back! It should be complementary..he said by next year it will be free!!!

We had a perfect one week holiday with our extended family spread over 6 rooms. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Food and beverages are excellent from breakfast to lunch and dinner. The fireworks dinner on the pier was an incredible experience. The only improvement would be the terras set up at the beach bar. Seats are not comfortable and inviting. Furthermore for an hotel with this standing and allure they should really cancel the dj's and their load music. We prefer conversation when having an afternoon drink with light background music. When speaking to the manager he told us it was part of the Carlton beach concept. They're are already to many loud (festive) places on the Croisette. Carlton is in a class of its own and does not need to compete with those venues.
