Hotel Martinez is worth every penny to stay in the heart of Cannes. A special mention to Romain and Nadir, the guest relations manager for ensuring we were taken care of and the special gift they left us on our way out. We will always remember our time as a family at Martinez.

Please avoid this hotel if you expect the level of service and hospitality that a luxury hotel should provide. Our flight from Berlin was cancelled due to severe weather, and there were no alternative flights available that day. We provided official proof and explained that the situation was completely beyond our control. Despite this, Hotel Martinez charged us for both nights. We were not asking for a refund. We accepted paying for the first night and even offered to extend our stay by one additional night instead of paying for a night we were physically unable to use. The hotel refused every possible compromise and simply hid behind its “hotel policy.” This is not luxury hospitality. Luxury is about taking care of guests when unexpected situations happen. Here, there was absolutely no flexibility, no understanding, and no willingness to help. The disappointments didn’t end there. The hotel promotes its private beach, but it is not included in the room rate. On top of that, when we arrived, every sunbed was already fully booked, making the beach unavailable despite the additional cost. At reception, there wasn’t even complimentary bottled water for guests, which is a basic courtesy at many luxury hotels. Breakfast was also disappointing. Even something as simple as avocado came with an extra charge, despite the very high room rates. The hotel itself is beautiful, but beautiful buildings alone do not create a five-star experience. Service does. For the price they charge, we expected empathy, flexibility, and genuine hospitality. Instead, we experienced rigid policies and a complete lack of customer care. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing luxury hotel experiences we have ever had. We will not return, and based on our experience, we cannot recommend Hotel Martinez to other travelers.

The culinary experience was spectacular—beautifully executed, incredibly flavorful, and accompanied by the same world-class service we have come to expect throughout the property.
