Wequassett Resort and Golf Club

Should have been a better experience and could have been with some minor adjustments. We stayed in a Garden View Villa which was a nice size, comfortable bed and nice view. It was peaceful even in August with a family in the room next door, who we heard only occasionally when on the balcony. The weddings ended at a reasonable time and it was quiet after 10 p.m. The concierge was helpful, able to plan the use of a car to the golf club and helped us make arrangements. A couple of factors that negatively impacted our stay: - I emailed to inform the resort and make a specific request related to my husband's 50th birthday; however, this occasion was not recognized. We did happen to mention it to a server in the Outer Bar on our last night and he gave my husband a pair of socks which was very thoughtful. - the carpet in our room had wet patches upon check-in, not pleasant to walk on without shoes. We were initially told this was due to spot cleaning; however, after complaining again on the second day of our stay the carpet was dried. - there was a great coffee machine but no tea making facilities in the room. - there were guests vaping by the pool and a disposable plastic cup with cigarette ends in it. - we had an erroneous charge on our invoice from Outer Bar which was quickly rectified by the front desk. - some issues with Twenty-eight Atlantic, referenced specifically in a restaurant review. Overall, a nice resort with more attention to detail required.

Pros: The hotel grounds are beautiful and well maintained, staff is extremely nice and courteous. Cocktails from the bar were delicious Cons: We booked this hotel because it was listed as dog friendly and we wanted to check out Cape Cod and bring our dog along. We got unlucky with the weather and it was pouring rain. There is not a SINGLE place at the hotel that dogs are allowed inside other than your own hotel room, and the staff had absolutely no recommendations on things we could do at the hotel with our dog while it was raining. We asked where we could have a cocktail with our dog and they said we could take one of the pool cabanas if available...but the cabanas were soaking wet from the rain. Then they suggested we get cocktails to go and drink them on our room's outdoor patio..which was also soaking wet from the rain. I was really shocked that the hotel seemed so unprepared for this scenario. They kept telling me that it was Massachusetts law regarding dogs not being allowed anywhere, but a quick search shows that you can apply for variances in the town of Harwich to allow dogs in certain areas where they would normally not be permitted. Not sure if they just haven't applied for those or if there are other technicalities I am not aware of. If talk to the hotel about bringing a dog they will tell you that they just aren't allowed in the pool area or any dining area, but it turns out that those are quite literally the only places on the property to go other than your own room. I am sure if the weather was perfect we would have had a totally different experience and this review would be five stars, but pet owners beware - pray for good weather or there is nowhere you can go at the hotel. We ended up leaving a day early - if we were going to be stuck inside we might as well be at our own house rather than a small hotel room

We had a fantastic visit last week! The room was spacious, lovely and the service was fabulous. When seated by the waterfront, our server Callie was charming and attentive. The Concierge made fantastic dinner reservations for us and coordinated a terrific tee time at Cape Cod National. The gym was very well stocked with thoughtful details such as fruit, homemade nut-free granola, a locker room and stretching bands. The Barbour coats for loan were an unexpected perk and came in handy. I’m sorry we couldn’t stay for longer!

Lovely property with recently updated rooms. Great staff and a fantastic restaurant. Only comment would be that the soundproofing in some rooms is inadequate. Lots of children at the resort.

This place is beautiful and has the potential to be a serene place for a wonderful vacation. Unfortunately, the place is full of screaming kids and their rude parents who let them behave that way. Food on property is great, but a $1000 meal sat next to toddlers? Our room was beautiful, but unfortunately was also next to a family of loud toddlers and a screaming baby. The resort could do a better job of separating the adults who are there for a peaceful time and the families with the littles. Or maybe, we will just stick to adult-only resorts.
