Atlantic at the Wequassett – Supper Club in Harwich with Chef Gabriel Frasca (Straight Wharf, Nantucket)Cliff notes: A lovely dinner with fantastic food and wine in a beautiful setting, but the evening ended with frustrating billing issues and double charges.Four of us attended the Supper Club this past Saturday night. The food was creative and delicious, and the setting was absolutely beautiful. Overall, the dining experience itself was excellent. However, things became frustrating at the end of the meal. When I was presented with the check, I explained to the waitress that I had already paid in full ($308) when I booked the event back in January. She told me that my card had only been held, not charged. Before paying again, I checked my credit card app and confirmed that I had in fact been charged on January 21.When I showed this to the waitress, she directed me to the General Manager. After waiting to speak with her, I showed her the charge on my account. She initially told me the charge had been reversed a few days later, but when I checked in front of her, there was no refund posted. At that point, I said I would dispute the charge with my credit card company. She stepped away, then returned and apologized, confirming that I had indeed been double charged. It turned out the other couple in our party had also been double charged, and I suspect this may have affected many of the 30+ guests who booked through OpenTable. To make matters worse, when I returned to the table to get my purse, the waitress asked me to pay separately for a cappuccino, saying it was not included. I explained that I had already been charged $313.69, which included the coffee, and that I was not comfortable providing my card again after the double charge issue. She said the manager would handle it. A restaurant of this caliber should have a clear understanding of how their booking platform (OpenTable) processes payments to avoid situations like this. I am hopeful the duplicate charge will be refunded promptly, and that this serves as a learning experience for the restaurant.

The resort is beautiful and the staff is friendly and will do anything to insure your stay is perfect. Rooms are spacious and well apportioned. Dining services deserve special mentioning. Chefs James Alex and Erica provide a unique and special experience worthy of a visit just to experience their cuisine. If there is an opportunity be sure to sign up for any culinary class. Your palette will thank you. Will definitely be coming back soon.

My wife and I had an unforgettable Valentine’s Day at Wequassett. The property itself is immaculate, beautiful, and exceptionally well maintained, but what truly makes this place special is the staff. Every person we encountered went out of their way to make us feel welcome, cared for, and genuinely valued. Their warmth and attention to detail made all the difference. Having traveled extensively, it is rare to experience this level of hospitality. The team made our Valentine’s celebration feel personal and memorable, and we left feeling relaxed, pampered, and grateful. Wequassett is a truly special place, and we look forward to returning. Highly recommended for anyone looking to create meaningful memories.

We typically stay at Four Seasons properties when traveling. Wequassett rivaled that experience. Service was incredible across the board. Attention to detail. Personal touches. Know your name before you arrive. Surprise & delight. Go the extra mile. Special shoutout to Bill who exemplified that ethos with every interaction. DO NOT SKIP THE RESTAURANTS. Dinner at Thoreau was the best meal I had in 2025. The fitness center was comprehensive in its equipment. We came during the winter and while many amenities were not operational, Wequassett found fun ways to supplement with different experiences. We would come back in the winter and will for sure be back in the summer to take advantage of the water access. 6 out of 5 stars

East Coast Charm at its finest! I cannot say enough about this property, this will be a long review. We arrived for four nights during a Nor'easter and being a travel agency owner who has stayed in more hotels than I will ever remember I can say I will never forget this one and I will return as often as I can during all seasons. The first page of their website is spot on with what they offer their guests! And we all know as travelers that is not often the case where the print and promise matches the experience. This is a very special place. The rooms are immaculate and perfectly designed and situated for comfort. From high sinks, to beautiful and actually functional black out curtains, to the comfortable bed and pillows, perfect temperature can be achieved, the luggage rack is high with a bottom rack making for very appreciated ease, to the table and chairs which are not just filler, they are actually comfortable and functional of height and design, to the comfortable patio for relaxation and storm viewing and garden enjoyment. The dining options, even in slower season, VERY accommodating and they did not cut any corners even though leisure travel is down this week and the storm. The buffet at Twenty Eight Atlantic, I wish I had a picture - one of the best I have ever had at a hotel. Every single item, not kidding, was fresh and flavorful and arranged presented and prepared with such precision and perfection and I saw them checking on it throughout our meal. Then dinner at Thoreau's, amazing fish & chips and we felt we had stepped back in time in this intimate setting with the fireplace and the dark wood and bar ambiance, just love it and will be back tonight. But what is the most special about my new favorite domestic resort - the STAFF! I will name a couple Brandon who has literally gone so far above and beyond I feel as if he is my personal concierge for the stay and I am his 'only' guest and that is far from the case and hard to achieve, I am very particular. Michelle our breakfast server from Peru, she was so amazing and connected with us on a personal level during a storm where tourist time kinda slowed down to a halt cause it had to. Tiana, our lovely server from Serbia in the pub sharing how much she loved her season at the property and will be returning. What means the most to me in my travels, especially since the pandemic when my industry suffered so, is how the staff is and here I feel to my core that management is doing something special here for everyone to be so kind and servant/guest hearted with a real, not fake or forced care and appreciation towards their guests. From those mentioned to EVERY SINGLE staff that came to our door during this stay (and there was a lot since we were shut in for two days) has had a smile, a kind word, a genuine friendly response - no lie, every single one. This stay in on the heels of a trip of many many nights at other locations abroad and domestic and this by far surpassed all for this particular trip and overall it is in my Top #10 and definitely Top #5 for domestic resorts and what throws it high is the staff. I will be back, already looking at when that can be. Well done Wequassett, very well done!
