A haven of warm hospitality since 1816, Congress Hall offers a sublime blend of tradition and elegance. This lovingly restored and expanded monument resides just steps from the Atlantic Ocean, in the heart of Cape Mayâ€(TM)s historic district on the New Jersey shore. In an atmosphere of serenity, you can linger on a sun-drenched verandah, stroll among hydrangeas, or enjoy a treat from the old-fashioned candy shop. Savor a massage at the Cape May Day Spa, and gather with friends over American fare at the Blue Pig Tavern.

The Virginia is a jewel of a hotel. small and special with beautifully decorated common spaces, a great restaurant on site, and A DELICIOUS included breakfast! We really enjoyed our two night stay. location is fantastic!

Cape May is a beautiful resort town with lots of charm and history. One of the landmarks is the lovely Congress Hall. We have been wanting to visit for some time now, since we're native New Jerseyans. This was our first time at the hotel. Pleasant greeting as we arrived and had lunch at their Blue Pig Tavern. We then proceeded to the room. Oddly enough, the floor is uneven. I suppose given the age of the hotel, it was still strange to try to walk on it. The bed was very very firm and high, and thus I cannot say I had a good night's sleep. Now here's where it gets kind of surprising. The Brown Room is lovely with light bites, cocktails and music, which we thoroughly enjoyed. But call me a snob but folks would come in wearing gym shorts, baseball hats and flip flops, which was not very respectful of such a wonderful place. I think it deserves better. So in the end it was an ok stay, however they never asked for our feedback, or thanked us as we checked out, which also sends a message. We travel frequently and know that when hotels ask for your opinion, they actually do care and it makes you want to return.

All around nice comfortable room and surroundings. Not modern but historical with its own charm. Will return when next in Cape May

Congress Hall is beautiful outside with lovely gardens. The staff works hard to be accommodating so that their guests are comfortable. The lobby and Brown Room are great for people watching!

Stayed in one of the cottages - "Carpenter" cottage across the street. It was comfortable but water pressure was lower than any hotel I ever stayed at. I asked for washclothes and it took 4 tries of asking to get them over a period of hours. Room service was marginal at best. When you come in from the beach and want to take a shower - 4 hours is a long time to wait! Definitely poor service in comparison to the main hotel. I don't think I want to come back..... Too many other great choice to pick and when you pay top dollar for the congress hotel - I just expected more. Going down hill from what it was years ago....
