Congress Hall

First visit was short, 2 nights, but extremely memorable. Vintage elegance, charm, and an amazingly wonderful experience.

We had a fantastic stay at Congress Hall and really enjoyed our time in Cape May. The location is hard to beat. It’s right near Main Street with all of the shops and restaurants just a short walk away. It’s lively and fun in the evenings, but surprisingly peaceful during the day, which gives the hotel a great balance. The property itself is beautiful and well maintained for such a historic establishment. You can really appreciate the history and character of Congress Hall without it feeling dated. One of my favorite touches was the row of rocking chairs outside. They are perfect for sitting back, relaxing, and taking in the atmosphere of Cape May. The beach and pool were also great. Having easy access to the beach made it convenient to spend time by the water, while the pool was a great option when we wanted to relax closer to the hotel. It’s nice having both options right there. The staff were also excellent. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Their attitude really added to the experience and made us feel taken care of throughout our stay. Our only complaint was the timing of the landscaping construction right by the pool. They started the project exactly on the final day of the summer season. I completely understand that projects need to get done, but it was disappointing to see the work begin right as the summer season was ending. It would have been nice if they had waited just one more week. Hopefully, the improvements will make an already great property even better. Overall, we had a great experience and would absolutely come back. Between the location, historic charm, and rocking chairs, Congress Hall is a wonderful place to stay in Cape May. We can’t wait to visit again.

Superior location and also superior experience. Beautifully renovated hotel with immediate access to the beach. The atmosphere and ambience were compelling; there’s a lot of history here. Rooms can be noisy. Service was consistently friendly, but seemed overwhelmed. Bar areas were crowded. We enjoyed taking walks along the beach and use of the pool. In sum: an expensive, but high quality experience.

Terrific experience as always. The tents on the beach were private and helpful since it was a little windy, T he closeness to restaurants, shopping, beach, Congress Hall was perfect. Breakfast was delicious and the porch setting is charming. The Virginia is a lovely property for adults. You also have access to the pool, stores, and the Brown Room for a cocktail and music. Both of these hotels are wonderful beach properties.

There is nothing not to like. The rooms are immaculate, and charming. The staff was helpful and friendly. parking was available as was valet service. Having a lovely free breakfast on the veranda was a nice surprise. only complaint would be no elevator, so if you have a problem with stairs, you should request 1st floor.
