One&Only Cape Town

This was a fantastic bucket trip for a birthday, anniversary and retirement, booked via the amazing Trailfiders. We have stayed in some pretty amazing hotels, but this luxury and stylish hotel could be in the top one! Wonderful views of Table Mountain and close proximity to the lovely V&A Waterfront, awash with fanastic restaurants and total safety. We did most things on foot, but a free shuttle in a lovely black mercedez was on tap. Rooms were massive and very chic and felt v comfortable with lovely little presents left on pillows at turn down Breakfast was superb, there wasnt anything you couldn't find. The biggest impression and face of this hotel were the staff - all absolutely brilliant - to name a few Manager Greg, Guest Manager who sorted a minor problem at lightening speed, barman Nick and room servce Cindy who are great ambassadors for this exemplary hotel! We utilized the restaurant yesterday and the service was terrible. The waiters took forever to bring us menus and had an attitude. When asked about the cake menu, instead of advising politely they told us to have a look at the cake stand. The worst of everything was when they brought our beverages, they brought a dirty cup with a lipstick stain, which they did not apologise for. They then brought the wrong cake, and the poor waitress (different one than who took our order, we had about 3/4 different people) brought us an additional piece (the slice i had originally asked for) which was very kind of her. We had to ask them to bring forks for our cake, and they forgot to bring sugar for our tea till we spoke about it loudly for them to hear. Very disappointing for such a prestige which was not full.

We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. The staff were welcoming and the service excellent. The breakfast was good, as was the dining at Rooi. The room was spacious, quiet and clean. Being within the V&A waterfront, we could easily walk to the main shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend.

The High Tea at One and Only is by far the best out of all of them and believe me I've done all the High Tea's in Cape Town. Ash gave us exceptional service!! He is so friendly and make us feel very welcome. He always checks up & has everything ready for you before you even have to ask. Wow!! I am blown away with the great experience we received. Thank you One and Only and thank you Ash - 10/10 to you!

Oh wow! Loads to see and do, we experienced a lot. Would loved to have done the Townships guided tour
