The Silo Hotel is a magical space towering above the V&A Waterfront surrounded by the natural wonder of South Africa’s Mother City. The Silo Hotel has been built in the grain elevator portion of the historic grain silo complex and occupies the six floors above the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA). Zeitz MOCAA is a contemporary art museum that rivals the likes of the Tate Modern in London, MoMA in New York and Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid. Zeitz MOCAA is a not-for-profit partnership between the V&A Waterfront and Jochen Zeitz, whose collection forms the Museum’s founding collection.

I had high expectations for the Royal Afternoon Tea at The Silo Hotel, but unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. For a venue of this caliber, the experience felt unrefined and significantly overpriced. The food selection was incredibly repetitive. It felt like "gluten on gluten" with very little variety, creativity, or balance in flavors. They only offer 3–4 types of tea. The leaves are left to brew indefinitely, resulting in a bitter, over-steeped cup. There was no understanding of different tea varieties or the specific brewing times required for each. The cutlery felt overused If you are a tea lover or looking for a high-end gastronomic experience, skip this.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The views from the rooftop pool, bar and restaurant are a wonder in and of themselves. Highly recommend. Myself and our entire party felt safe, relaxed and well taken care of at The Silo. Unlike other luxury hotels that rely on having been trendy at one point, The Silo maintains their property. Your 5 star experience doesn't dwindle with age. I appreciate that.

Striking design and high level service throughout the stay. Rooms were spacious and the views over the city and harbor were unforgettable.

The Silo Hotel is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at it is located right on the Victoria water front with beautiful views-the hotel is on top of an excellent museum which you do not want to miss. The rooms are so spacious and decorated with original art work. Beautiful art work is also displayed all around the public areas. The beds are very comfortable with use of top linen sheets. The staff provides over the top service- we stayed there for two visits in December- we were able to store our luggage while on a safari. What ever they could do to make out stay wonderful was done- they even provided us toothbrushes and paste when the airline lost our luggage- to help us out while waiting for luggage delivery the next day- they helped us staying in touch with the airline to track our luggage . We dined at the great restaurant for all the nights of our stay- the food, views and cuisine was excellent. I will also say the breakfast included with your room stay was outstanding. All the staff is wonderful- we did have a warm welcome and a tour of the hotel by Shingal Mt who went out of his way to make us feel at home. We wish we had stayed at the Silo a few more days- and if we make it back to Cape Town this is our choice of hotel.

Can’t say enough about ALL STAFF that work at this fine hotel. They were all very attentive and pleasant during our interactions. Our room blew us away, truly a unique and beautiful experience. We had a spectacular panoramic view of Table Mountain. The rooms are very unique, with high ceilings, and lots of floor to ceiling windows. The room was very well appointed, and the bed was comfortable.
