About the Hotel

The Silo Hotel is a magical space towering above the V&A Waterfront surrounded by the natural wonder of South Africa’s Mother City. The Silo Hotel has been built in the grain elevator portion of the historic grain silo complex and occupies the six floors above the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA). Zeitz MOCAA is a contemporary art museum that rivals the likes of the Tate Modern in London, MoMA in New York and Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid. Zeitz MOCAA is a not-for-profit partnership between the V&A Waterfront and Jochen Zeitz, whose collection forms the Museum’s founding collection.

Reviews for The Silo

The lifetime experience !!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

AMAZING !!! NO WORDS !!! WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! I was fighting with my greed and was very happy to win and to book Delux Superior corner room overlooking waterfront ! i did never paid so much for hotel room. But i understood from first step into my room that i will never regret about this choice. The reality is much more impressive than presented on booking.com. Around 6 meters ceiling ! Breathtaking views from all rooms and bathroom to port and sea. Great design ! A lot of complimentary snacks, wines, sweets, drinks... Hotel management thought carefully about any possible needs you may want. I did not want to leave room till end of my stay. With a small exception to swim in swimming pool on top of hotel which you can visit 24h .So, swimming alone at nigh under stars were unbeatable. The breakfast was piece of art as well. All hotel make impression that you stay in museum (not only the basemen with real museum of MOCAA ) I dont have wish to be back to Cape Town. But maybe i will do exception just for The Silo hotel to fulfill me with its incredible energy !!!!

Its unique and surrounded by interesting places for tourists. At its roof top you can see the beauty of CT. Watch the sun set. Splush in the pool and find peace of mind. Each employee did his duties perfectly including helping with lagagges. Cleanliness.

Pricey but so worth it

Yes this is a pricy hotel but the attention to detail, service and the rooms are amazing. The rooftop bar and pool are wonderful and breakfast is a real treat. The bar at night has such great reflections it’s hard to capture. I would visit again and go for the Royal Suite again ❤️

Sunset drinks

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Went to the rooftop bar for sunset drinks and picked one of the windiest nights to go. Despite this the cocktails were excellent as was the service and hospitality. As there were no hotel guests in their private area we taken up to the top to have photos taken with magnificent views across Cape Town. Even managed to see most of the sunset.
