Absolutely a wonderful place to retreat to for a little rest and relaxation! Rooms are beautifully done, spa has wonderful treatments as well as some of the best aestheticians and massage therapists. Go for a couple days to have a nervous system reset!

I came during memorial weekend for a solo trip, and to my surprise the resort wasn't as packed as I thought it would be. I signed up for classes prior to coming to the resort just in case I wasn't able to get into any classes, but I feel some classes weren't too full when I actually arrived. Check in went smooth and easy. The lady at the front desk was very nice and accommodating if I had any questions. She actually walked all the way to my room which I appreciated. They give everyone a water bottle and have water stations around the resort to keep us hydrated. Loved that! Arizona weather is hot so if you aren't used to that type of heat - Please bring sunscreen, hat, shades, etc to keep you cool. Especially for the hike! They advise you to pick your classes early but a tip. If the class isn't cancelled by 5pm the day prior they will CHARGE you a $15 late cancellation fee. Keep that in mind. All the wellness classes were very good, even though I wasn't able to take all of them the ones I did really impacted me in a great way. All the instructions were good but the guest teacher Veronica really knows how to communicate and resonate with everyone in her classes. The only con I would say I wasn't the biggest fan of the food. Majority bland, not really fulfilling. The filet mignon, smashed avocado, green goodness smoothie, and salmon tacos were my top favorites. I can say the drinks were pretty good, and the bartenders at the bar were always so helpful if you had any questions. All in all, I would recommend anyone to take a trip down here, even come by yourself. You will meet other travelers who are solo or anybody just wanting the same experience. All the staff are so positive, friendly, and welcoming.

What a stunning venue for a getaway or day trip. I booked a Day Pass and took my Mom as a birthday present in February 2025. We were already staying in the area, so it was about a ~45 min drive for us. Beforehand I had booked us each a spa treatment, made a reservation for lunch and then we signed up for an outdoor yoga class. The resort is absolutely beautiful!! Not overly large in size but with every amenity you would need. The spa water circuit and outdoor pool were fabulous with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to relax. We each had a facial and my Mom commented she didn't recall the last time she was so relaxed, highly recommend indulging in the spa! For lunch we sat outside on the patio in our robes (we asked ahead of time about the dress code). The food was delicious and I thought reasonably priced too. We had time to lounge by the pool and have a drink before our yoga class, by then the pool and patio were busier but we managed to find a sear without issue. The yoga class outside was a lot of fun, a good workout and beautiful scenery again. We ended our day with a green juice before our departure (again delicious!!). This resort is perfect for anyone looking to unwind, focus on health and wellness and relax. Everyone we encountered was friendly and knowledgeable - I can't wait to go back!!

I just got back from CIVANA resort and spa and literally had the best 4 days and 3 nights of pure relaxation and revitalizing activity. I went to CIVANA with my husband after going through a tough loss together. We both needed a trip that would give us a proper reset and positive outlook. AZ is one of our favorite places to visit and CIVANA is located in such a gorgeous part of AZ called Carefree! The SPA is divine at CIVANA (you'll want to spend the entire day there so allocate a day for that) but for us the real treat was all the mind-body programming to choose from. We took Pilates Sculpt classes, a Ropes Course (highly recommend this!), a 4 mile hike (Tortuga Trail) and on our last day we did an SUP excursion. Every class and excursion was led by the most skilled, experienced and personable pros. We loved Sierra who led our hike and SUP trip! Terras Restaurant is the perfect compliment to all the fitness with a menu that's healthy and always so beautifully plated. We also couldn't get over the smoothies at SEED Cafe. They're pricey but WORTH IT! Definitely try the Mango Lassi smoothie. Overall, I'd highly recommend CIVANA as a 3-4 day escape with your partner or friends. Or if you're craving a solo trip, honestly there isn't a better place than CIVANA. This is where I'd go solo as evrything about it is safe and supportive for a solo female traveler. CIVANA really is a special place and I loved crawling into bed at the end of each day there. The rooms are cozy and nicely maintained and all face inward to the property. I liked waking up to the sun spilling into my room each morning nice and early! We had no bad experiences here and all 4 days were nicely outlined for us in a thorough itinerary that we were given upon arrival. My advice would be to choose your classes a week before you go. You can always change up your schedule once you get there if you change your mind about things. Just don't back out of the Ropes course as it will be the most memorable thing you do. We actually upgraded our hike to a more challenging train and added an aerial meditation session to our itinerary. You'll be able to feel things out once you get there.

I flew to Phoenix for a long weekend trip from Houston, & I was really looking forward to my day pass I booked for 04/27/2025. I scheduled my day online about a month in advance, hoping for a full day of care, presence, and intention. It started off that way but that unfortunately unraveled completely by the end of the day. The grounds were peaceful, my morning writing class helped me land in the space, & the spa treatment was deeply restorative. But as the day went on, things shifted and what was meant to be a nourishing experience left me feeling disappointed and dismissed. The non-refundable day pass included a 60-minute spa treatment and two wellness classes. I planned it all nearly a month ahead - a morning class, afternoon spa session, a complimentary guided gratitude activity, and an evening class (ecstatic dance) to get some free expression in. The morning and spa portions were lovely. But things started to unravel when I showed up for the guided activity and found no guide. No signage. No notification. I went to the front desk and was told that the guide had called out, and both the group activity and my evening class (it was the same guide for both were canceled. I understand that things happen. People get sick, plans shift. But what was hard was how it was handled. There was no communication ahead of time. No alternative offerings available. No effort to make up for what was lost. When I asked if any concessions could be made, I was told that the classes were "complimentary," and there was nothing that could be done. I was offered two mocktails, which felt like a surface-level gesture in place of actual care or accountability. I left feeling disappointed; not just because parts of the experience were canceled, but because the value they claimed to offer felt more like empty marketing than an actual commitment, & the manager's handling of the situation was indifferent. I reached out to the Guest Experience team via email with feedback and a request for a partial refund, hoping for acknowledgment if nothing else. I did receive a partial refund - $69.80 out of the $349 | paid, which felt fair- but not a single response to my email. Civana is beautiful. The spa treatment was exactly what I hoped for. But the lack of communication and the way my experience was handled didn't reflect the intentional, restorative environment they advertise. It left me feeling more like a transaction than a guest. If you're considering a day pass, just know that what's included can shift without warning; and if it does, you may not get much recourse. For me, that gap between what's promised and what's actually held with care was enough to say I won't go back.

“The grounds were beautiful, the rooms were ok, kind of like an updated holiday inn, I had to remind them of the strawberries and wine that was supposed to be in the room. The staff was friendly and the location of the hotel was great.”
