Older resort, but everything was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Chandlers also had great food. The pool bartender made awesome drinks.

Our long weekend stay was amazing at cape rey! The front desk lady, I think her name was Michelle gave us a detailed breakdown of what this resort offers. We checked in early and our ocean view balcony room was ready! Our favorite part was sitting out there enjoying the views in the evening and in the morning. Stephen in valet was exceptional and took great care of us! The restaurant was ok. We felt it was overpriced for what it was. But we get it. We only ate there for breakfast one day. Kara at the pool gave amazing service and we never had to wait long for her to come and serve it. Unfortunately we didn't get to use the beach valet service or the bikes, but we will the next time we come out! We loved the bed, pillows, and shower. The only negative was we missed room service the first day and the second day she didn't stock the tp, or any of the coffee items. We survived: )

Great location
We enjoyed our room and balcony, then went on a beautiful beach walk. After lunch we visited the spa. The intimate Ocean Crest spa was wonderful...we enjoyed an excellent couples massage, followed by a steam bath. Our hostess, Jeanette, was accommodating and helped us to enjoy a relaxing visit.

Nice amenities. Great location (beyond the RV park located between you and the ocean view) ) that makes it easy to get quickly to Del Mar, Encinitas and downtown Carlsbad. The bar has a great vibe (shout out to Tyler/bartender) who makes awesome drinks and just good to strike up conversation. Michelle at the front desk was charming and made you feel welcomed while always inquiring about your stay and needs. Overall, would recommend to anyone seeking a true coastal town experience.

A little pricey for a view of a trailer park
The ocean view is a little over rated as the first thing you see is a large trailer camp The hotel amenities are good. The staff is helpful and very nice Location is walking distance 10-15min to a large strip mall with shops, restaurants and grocery stores.
