I had to book the room because of construction work at my home, this was not really a vacation as such. All of the hotel staff were great. Of note, Julissa at front desk did an excellent job of finding me a room that was quiet & comfortable. Jani ,a breakfast waitress, was also excellent - very helpful , and genuinely warm and friendly. I had trouble with the television and Carlos came to my room and was very patient with trying to figure out if it was my error. It wasn't, there are only a few free channels available - I understand it may be due to problems with Direct TV or ? At the price point of the rooms it would have been nice to have a few more choices. There were a couple of problems with plumbing/mechanical items. The hot water faucet leaked when in use, so much so that I had to wrap it with a washcloth so it didn't get my toiletries, etc. wet. Also, the A/C controller unit/box fell off the wall when trying to switch modes. Luckily, I was able to figure out how to put it back together. But unless I held it down with left hand while changing modes it would fall off again.

Pool service

Very upsetting-could not get a seat at the pool due to the fact they sell so many day passes. Why should I be charged a resort fee and an expense hotel room rates if I, as Guest, cannot get a seat at the pool!!

Ask for Janai at b-fast for a great start to the day!

The hotel was nice but the best part of our trip was our server Janai at breakfast every morning! We looked forward to her smile and cheerful personality each morning. In a time where hotel staff sometimes act like you are an inconvenience, Janai is the opposite and shines with a welcoming and positive attitude. She was also very aware, helpful and careful with a food allergy we had. What a great way to start the day. Truly we would go back to this hotel just because of her.

Liked the location away from main Carlsbag location.. Also liked the size of the resort. Staff very friendly and accomodating. Clean rooms. Would like to come back next year.

Good Value - But plan ahead for the amenities.

Good value for the money. The rooms were clean and beds comfy. The resort did have a lot of kids there at pool if that's your jam. They do have a great beach shuttle service that takes you to the beach, sets up chairs and umbrella's. Unfortunately they were all booked for the two days we were there so never got to experience it. Book that ahead. Also an added bonus across the street is a neat little California experience called "The Camp Store". they have live music every night sell inexpensive beverages and you can watch the amazing sunset from the bluff there....but that you also have to reserve table ahead of time. And lastly, dont eat at the restaurant for dinner, very disappointing....take uber up the hill. 1.5 miles and have a nice dinner at the Park Hyatt.
