How can you not love this location and resort hotel
This is a great resort/hotel/spa in beautiful Carlsbad. Just close enough to town but just far enough away to provide a quiet, relaxing stay. Get the upgraded rooms with a balcony and ocean/sunset views - it's worth it! We enjoyed Chandler's Restaurant on the property as well!

Acknowledgement
First night I sat on patio to watch sunset. The waiter finally acknowledged me. Breakfast same experience, no hello from busers or acknowledging that I was there. It was 9:45am in the morning, I noticed waiters talking in corner after a while he finally came and took my order. The service wasn't great, it was okay. The lady in the gift shop was amazing and I did give her my poker chip. While I sat on patio at the fire pit, I over heard other guest stating same thing I was writing about. They say at table for 15 mins, no acknowledgement. One of ladies finally went to the bar on her own to grab drinks. The waitress informed her that she was sitting in her station and what was she doing.

Cape Rey Hilton experience
I had the best experience . The staff was marvelous and amenities were outstanding. Room was clean with a great view .hotel location was excellant . Michelle, front desk hostess, made the experience marvelous for my wife birthday . Definitely coming back again.
