From start to finish it was a GREAT experience. The Hilton team was amazing, the restaurant was amazing and the hotel was beautiful. Can't wait to stay there again.

I stayed 3/25-3/30. This is a very nice family resort hotel. Staff was very friendly, and attentive. The whole property was very clean as well. We also loved the location next to the ocean. We saw dolphins in the water from our balcony 3 different mornings. A couple things that I didn't love, was the fact that with the resort fee, you get access to certain amenities, such as the shuttle that wasn't running during the week because of staffing, and in the weekend had very long waits. Also the fact that such a large property that charges the resort fee has hardly any umbrellas available. Another amenity that I paid $35 a night for that I couldn't use. So that really bothered me. I have no problem paying resort fees, but I expect to be able to use what I pay for. With that being said, food was good, drinks were good, and with the resort fee issues, I still couldn't bring myself to rate the hotel less than 5 stars. It really is a nice property. I'm not sure if I'll ever be back in Carlsbad, but if I am I'll stay here again

Hilton Cape Rey is our favorite Hotel… We live quite close by, but it’s always a great vacation… Michelle Meany at the Front Desk is the Best! She always remembers our names and faces, which is a lost art and unusual these days… She will make a Great GM one of these days… Chandler’s is a really good restaurant, and we opt to stay in house and eat there instead of traveling to Carlsbad or Encinitas for dinner…

We had such a wonderful experience! Everyone was very friendly and helpful, from the front desk, to the valet, to the restaurant workers. The room was clean and well maintained. The fridge didn't work, but they addressed it quickly by sending us a new fridge to use. The location and view are unbeatable. The pool was clean and fun for the whole family. Also, the beach gear was super helpful and easy to pick up and return. We would definitely stay there another time and recommend to others!

It’s a great location and on par with Hilton customer service, however if you’re going on business know that there is a resort fee not included in the cost of the room.
