Reviews for Crillon le Brave

Rustic modern room, Diptyque products, panoramic dining & attentive service.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

It is truly 5 stars hotel in the heart of Provence and I really had great experiences here. The highlights are 1-Attentive staffs’ service: They went above and beyond to make our stay become comfortable e.g. warm welcome check-in, valet service, service at the restaurants. 2- Rustic charm with modern comfort: Our room 16 is spacious with comfort bed and Diptyque products. 3- Panoramic terrace and dinner: La Table du Ventoux offers fresh ingredients, tasty food and attentive service. However, you may feel annoy with the flies. Hope the hotel can fix this soon.

Beautiful location, stunning accommodation. Better restaurant service (& fewer influencers)would have made this perfect.

We chose this hotel as one of 4 on our journey around France. The location is stunning, perched on the hillside with beautiful scenery. We stayed in room 29 which had the most amazing views. Very large room and bathroom and the furnishings were beautiful. They gym and pool areas were great and the concierge was super helpful, arranging bikes for us and dinner reservations. The downside to such a stunning location are the teams of influencers taking pictures for what seems like hours, squeezing between tables in the restaurant and posing around the pool to get the perfect shot, it’s very irritating. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was great. The service was however very slow, taking an hour to receive appetisers. Once the wine was ordered, it wasn’t once poured which sounds stuffy but when you’re paying top prices, the service should reflect this. The following morning this was acknowledged by the reception staff (without mention by us) and they refunded €80 to our bill which was a great gesture. Overall an amazing place, if you can get over the posers.

Outstanding experience!

Our wonderful trip to northern Provence was grounded in our stay at the truly spectacular Hotel Crillon-le-Brave. The hotel staff were all kind, informative, and every interaction projected superior hospitality. The hotel environment was charming and pastoral and was a relaxing backdrop to the outstanding views of Mont Ventoux, it's countryside, vineyards, hikers and cyclists. The amenities were incredibly comfortable, the food outstanding, and the proximity to the sites and culture of Provence was terrific. We certainly plan to return to this special place.

Fabulous

Fabulous stay here. Lovely room, amazing views, very helpful staff. Eating on veranda absolute highlight. Sunday brunch excellent, excellent breakfast but slightly underwhelmed by dinner during the week. Great spa. Could've done with a few less influencers but it is a brilliant hotel.

Not sold as seen- upgrade was a downgrade and not child friendly

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 months ago

As another person said- an upgrade here was not an upgrade. I specifically booked months ago a provencale style room as per the website photos, which apparently they no longer had (given away) so had upgraded us to what I can only describe as a chalet style prison cell, see photos . I work in interiors and if this is a renovated room- they need to change designers asap, for over £1000 a night it was really not good. I travel a lot and this is a £300 a night room. Anyway, onwards and upwards I thought so made our way to the pool in hope the kids (6&9) could spend a couple of days splashing around and we spend little time in the room. No, there is about 10sqm max of outdoor flat space in the entire hotel . The pool can barely fit a catepillar around the edge and despite being sold as child friendly this place is definitely not. Us and another Parisian family sheltered at the back shhhhhh- ing our children whilst they played our phones as there is just not enough space here for anyone other than adults or babies. Other than paddle around a bit there is no room for kids in the pool, one of mine jumped in and got a sunbather wet so I felt on edge having to keep them contained and quiet at the side on a screen . She was very polite but it’s not how you want to feel on holiday. This should be made a lot clearer the limitations for kids over 1. It’s setting is divine looks wise, it far out from the good Provence villages of gordes, loumarin etc but as a couple for a couple of days (if you can get the non soulless room type) I am sure it would be nice if you like doing very little . We had come from hotel coquilllade which I would highly recommend checking out if you have children or want space/villages. We were pretty frustrated with the room change so after some two and fro ing the manager did agree to refund us the second night because we wanted to leave early . This was eventually appreciated and the correct thing of them to do given they could not provide us with the room type we booked . Moral of the story is don’t advertise what you cannot provide. You don’t buy a car and get delivered a different car so if you book a room that room should be available.

We have just returned from our vacation in Europe, which included three-nights at Hostellerie de Crillon le Brave in France. It was in every way all that we expected - the facilities are wonderful, the people are friendly and helpful, and the food was out of this world! Thanks again.

The Hostellerie Crillon de Brave is a wonderful place in Provence, a little out of the usual tourist fare, and exquisite. Upon arrival we were given an upgrade to almost an apartment with views over lavender fields. The restaurant was exquisite, food fabulous and service very friendly and accommodating...

Hostellerie de Crillon le Brave is a beautiful and relatively central place from which to explore northwestern Provence. The Hostellerie itself is well-restored with modern amenities, yet quiet, secluded and full of medieval, old-world charm. Our stay was enchanting.
