From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtful, personal, and effortlessly beautiful. The location is perfect—right in the heart of Cartagena, surrounded by charm, history, and incredible energy—yet the hotel itself feels like a peaceful, intimate escape. What really sets this place apart, though, is the service. It’s genuinely the best we’ve ever experienced. On our very first day, we realized we had taken the wrong suitcase from the airport—an incredibly stressful situation—and the staff immediately stepped in to help. They tracked it down, coordinated everything, and even arranged for us to go pick up the correct one. What could have been a nightmare turned into something completely manageable because of them. A special shoutout to German —he was unbelievably kind, attentive, and proactive throughout our stay. Truly went above and beyond. The little touches made all the difference. The team consistently made the space feel like it was our home, not just a hotel. They arranged taxis seamlessly, often paying ahead for us when we didn’t have cash on hand, and made everything feel easy and taken care of. It’s rare to feel that level of trust and care while traveling. And the room service—absolutely incredible. Every meal felt high quality, thoughtful, and delicious. Overall, this is more than just a boutique hotel—it’s a warm, elevated, deeply personal experience. Beautiful, intimate, and run by people who genuinely care. We’ll be thinking about this stay for a long time and can’t wait to come back.

If you’re wondering where to stay in Cartagena, many will suggest the new Four Seasons Cartagena. But personally, I couldn’t imagine missing the experience of staying in this 5 star colonial gem right in the heart of the city’s history and charm. Where service is an incomparable experience. Casa Pestagua is a true paradise oasis in the heart of Cartagena’s Centro. While the hotel is stunning, the people are what made it feel like home. Special thanks to Karen, Yeily, Eduardo, and Roberto Hoyos—their incredible service made all the difference. Highlights: • Dining: Every meal was world-class and worthy of a Michelin star. The daily teatime was a particularly special treat. • Comfort: The rooms are gorgeous, featuring an exceptionally comfortable bed and pillows. • Ambiance: The pool is a lush, peaceful retreat from the city. I was treated like family and I can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!
