The place is amazing!!! I have traveled the world and stayed in many places considered “high end”, diamond this platinum that. However this place lives up to those standard labels and more. In all categories one would review after visiting a hotel, they exceeded expectations. During my stay I was constantly being told “this is your home”. I wish it was because I did not want to leave. All the staff was phenomenal, every single person. However, I want to give a special acknowledgment to German, Leo, Brando, Karen and Alvaro…they made me feel like family. I would highly recommend and certainly will return.

My husband and I stayed two nights at Hotel Casa Pestagua in Cartagena's old city from March 1st to March 3rd, 2026. We were returning from Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and this Boutique Hotel was truly spectacular. The location is very convenient to walking around the city, the Gold and Emerald Museums and so many beautiful squares. From the time we arrived, the hosts Brando and Gloria were very attentive and Eduardo was very kind and helpful with everything we needed. We stayed at a Suite that was absolutely divine. It was very spacious, quiet and very comfortable. Veronica, the lovely lady that tended to our suite, brought delicious fruit and kept our room pristine. Their restaurant AniMare was exquisite for dinner and they were not kidding when humbly stating that their breakfast was the best in town! The dining room was staffed with young waiters who were all very polite, knowledgeable, and attentive to dietary allergies. Special shout outs go to Alvaro, both Robertos and Edison for their friendly and impeccable service. Young Roberto certainly contributed to a lovely dinner experience on the night that we arrived and his suggestions helped us enjoy an unexpected culinary experience. This hotel has gorgeous and pristinely maintained grounds. The colonial style was enveloping and the dining and pool courtyards are spectacular. As a high- end boutique hotel, Casa Pestagua would not be what it is without its incredible staff. As a bilingual and bicultural couple, the staff not only communicated with us well, but their friendly ways and pleasant presence was heartwarming, adding both character and humanity to our stay, which is very needed these days! Thank you all for a wonderful experience!

An absolutely unforgettable stay at Casa Pestagua. From the moment we arrived, everything felt special. The location is perfect—right in the heart of Cartagena’s historic center, yet peaceful and elegant. The hospitality was exceptional, but what truly stands out is the people—their service is simply unmatched. Every detail was handled with genuine warmth and care, making us feel incredibly welcome. The rooms are stunning beautifully designed, full of character, and with a timeless style that perfectly reflects the charm of the city. And the afternoon tea is a true luxury such a special and memorable experience, not to be missed. A truly outstanding destination. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and refined experience in Cartagena.
