Reviews for Charleston Santa Teresa Cartagena

Nice hotel but I’d choose elsewhere next time

It was a nice property. Interesting history and repurpose of original building. Given the price I would likely not stay again. There was miscommunication with checking in and availability of our room. Staff didn’t seem to coordinate/communicate with each other Being with 3 young children this was difficult, especially when taking over half hour to bring bags to our room and having to change into swimsuits in the bathroom. They also brought the wrong bags after our 3rd request for luggage. Given the unique property/building there are stairs on the room floors that caused inconvenience for strollers or those needing ADA/accessibility - Language barrier is present but staff will usually get someone who speaks more English to assist. We speak some Spanish and tried to get by. Language barrier at spa caused Several mistakes with our appointments. We ultimately changed our original selections and times to make it work but frustrating and not expected when we planned several weeks ahead via email and received email confirmation from the spa (they accidentally cancelled appointments misreading our clear emails also) Staff is nice but coordination / training and maybe language barrier exists as an issue Strangely, in our room only the phone in the bathroom would ring when the front desk would call. iPad in room seemed pointless as it showed QR code to scan to do anything and given how our experience was with service/staff we were not confident they’d be responsive Location is good, there’s a large number of staff but I think training and communication could use a lot of improvement

The management is chaotic. I didn’t feel welcome as a paying guest. I travel the world and this hotel is way overpriced

An Old Town Experience

Hotel Charleston Santa Teresa was the perfect home base for our vacation in Cartagena! The beautiful architecture was only exacerbated by the entire staff. From the moment we checked in, every single of our needs, requests, and questions were met with kindness, answers, and true care. The food was phenomenal, the staff, especially Felix, Estefani, and Bryan, catered to every need, and the atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop to our vacation. I can not recommend this wonderful hotel enough.

Phenomenal staff, beautiful hotel. Would absolutely come back again. The team went above and beyond. Perfect for a couple’s trip.

It is a good quality hotel but you can get the same thing for less cost.

Harry's restaurant and the Pool is the best thing about this hotel. The complementary services are not those of a USD 500 per night hotel. Although they are good for that price, they could personalize the experience better. I made a couple of requests that didn't cost more than USD 10 and they ignored them. I have been in Cartagena in hotels that cost USD 200 to 300 maximum per night and they manage to match what this hotel offers.
