About the Hotel

Backpackers trekking through the jungle highlands of Belize a few years ago occasionally stumbled onto a rustic place called Blancaneaux Lodge - then a row of thatched huts above an idyllic valley, where waterfalls drop into granite pools lined with tiger ferns while parrots roost in the palmettos. Francis Ford Coppola himself stumbled upon this same enchanted retreat in the Mountain Pine Ridge reserve in 1981. "I'd been looking for some kind of tropical utopia," Coppola says. "This was the paradise hideaway I was looking for." The rest is history... Welcome to Blancaneaux Lodge.

Osmani was the best

Osmani was perfect in every way possible. He helped us and got us situated perfectly. And so was everyone else at this resort.

Amazing experience at Blancaneax Lodge in Belize

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

I cannot say enough about this beautiful boutique resort. There is wonderful attention to detail, very clean, wonderful energy and vibe and all around we had a wonderful stay. Osmani was our personal assistant ("butler") while we there and he ensured all details and planning were attended to. He was fantastic and would encourage you to request him if you stay there. Another special treat was the Mojito garden and vegetarian dinner. The food was top notch-always so fresh and the ambience of the dining room and pre-and post dinner events was very special. highly highly recommend Blancaneaux. We definitely plan to stay at another Coppola property in the future.

An amazing visit in a beautiful place

The gorgeous property is an absolutely stunning destination. Set inside the Mountain Pine Ridge reserve, this hidden jewel is a nature lover and birder's paradise. Our stay was an absolute dream - the staff were incredibly attentive, and the guides were amazing. Food at the two restaurants is amazing. The Guatemalan restaurant is a real standout, and the garden vegetarian experience was a real highlight of our stay. The wildlife and birds were crazy! The lodge also helped us with transfers and made transportation a breeze.

Dreamy stay for mom's 60th birthday celebration

Our family of five (two parents with three adult children) absolutely loved our stay at Blancaneaux Lodge. The only thing we'll do differently on our next visit is stay longer! We had a two bedroom villa and a river view cabana. We were all extremely comfortable in the spacious, open-air, rustic luxury accommodations. Waking up to the sounds of the jungle was one of my favorite parts. Such a peaceful place. Gorgeous grounds. Fantastic staff, food, and activities. Don't miss the tour to the Caracol Mayan Ruins! Bring a light jacket for cool mountain evenings. Highly recommend a stay at this lodge.

Wonderful Spring Break get away

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We were surprised at how serene the grounds were - an oasis in the pine forest. The entire staff was welcoming and vested in making our stay as memorable as possible. We stayed in a room that was close to the waterfall that some of the family needed earplugs to dampen the white noise. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room relaxing. It was well worth the drive to the resort location.

We stayed at the Turtle Inn and Blancaneaux Lodge for a week in October, and it was the best vacation we have ever taken. The cabanas and cottages were lovely, the staff was incredible, and the food was outstanding. It's rare that you come home from vacation without a single negative thing to say - our only criticism is that we couldn't stay longer! It was truly an amazing experience.
