About the Hotel

Backpackers trekking through the jungle highlands of Belize a few years ago occasionally stumbled onto a rustic place called Blancaneaux Lodge - then a row of thatched huts above an idyllic valley, where waterfalls drop into granite pools lined with tiger ferns while parrots roost in the palmettos. Francis Ford Coppola himself stumbled upon this same enchanted retreat in the Mountain Pine Ridge reserve in 1981. "I'd been looking for some kind of tropical utopia," Coppola says. "This was the paradise hideaway I was looking for." The rest is history... Welcome to Blancaneaux Lodge.

Reviews for Blancaneaux Lodge

Stunning property, world-class service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We spent 6 nights at Blancaneaux Lodge in the Francis Ford Coppola Villa with a group of 5, and the experience exceeded every expectation. The lodge is a one-of-a-kind property: a jungle retreat with incredible natural beauty, from waterfalls to river pools to lush hiking trails. The villa itself is world-class: private pool, open-air living space, and views that make you never want to leave. The standout of our entire stay was Osmani, our dedicated butler. From day one, he made it his mission to take care of every detail. He stocked our fridges with each person's preferred drinks. He organized a four-course catered lunch at Big Rock Falls that none of us will ever forget. Every night, he prepared custom dinners for our group, accommodating different dietary needs without missing a beat. He was attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely warm. Osmani is the gold standard for hospitality. He turned an already incredible trip into something truly special. I'd return to Blancaneaux just to be in his care again. Highest possible recommendation.

Beautiful and peaceful stay

We loved our stay at Blancaneaux! The lodge is truly beautiful and has such a peaceful atmosphere. The food was amazing, especially all of the fresh fruits and veggies from The Garden. The staff was so attentive and knowledgeable about the area. We really loved all of the tours we went on. Highly recommend to anyone considering a trip to Belize!

Blancaneaux is a tropical treasure.

Blancaneaux is among the most strikingly beautiful and comfortable places I have visited. Starting with its breathtaking location, amidst tropical gardens, the beautifully designed wood and thatch villas which create a sense of complete privacy, the even more beautifully appointed main house with its Jaguar bar, where you can sit and listen to tropical bird song every sundown, the excellent restaurants ... and then come the people - the staff that makes the place what it is. I have never felt more at home anywhere, everybody was so nice and helpful. And don't miss the on and off-site activities! My highlight was the visit to the Caracol Mayan ruins and the horse ride in the pine savannah and rainforest just off the property, but I missed so many other interesting trips.

An unforgettable stay at Blancaneaux Lodge

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Blancaneaux Lodge was one of the most special places I’ve ever stayed. Tucked deep in the Belize jungle, it’s stunningly beautiful and feels truly anchored in nature, not in flashy marketing. You’re surrounded by greenery, birds, and the kind of quiet that makes you feel like you can finally exhale. What made the trip, though, was the people. Every single staff member made us feel genuinely cared for, like nothing was too much trouble and they actually*wanted us to have a great time. Special shoutout to Osmani (papas!), who took care of us with so much warmth and attention. He handled everything and somehow made every moment feel easy and personal. My favorite part was the organic garden, and just being able to feel so connected to the land and wildlife throughout the stay. They really have everything you need on site, but it never feels overdone. It just feels natural, thoughtful, and peaceful. If you want a jungle escape where you’re immersed in nature and treated with real kindness, Blancaneaux Lodge is it!

Luxurious mountain lodge Belize

A beautiful resort in the middle of a sub tropical forest. The service was outstanding. We had a staff member who served as our butler for four days. He took care of all our needs and was available at all times. I would highly recommend!

We stayed at the Turtle Inn and Blancaneaux Lodge for a week in October, and it was the best vacation we have ever taken. The cabanas and cottages were lovely, the staff was incredible, and the food was outstanding. It's rare that you come home from vacation without a single negative thing to say - our only criticism is that we couldn't stay longer! It was truly an amazing experience.
