Melia Orlando Celebration

Extremely poor state of Bedrooms, furniture is old, kitchen was absolutely disgusting, smelled like old fried chicken, kitchen's fan screen was off and fan was completely uncovered, fan/light knob seemed as if it was about to fall off. Toilet's wouldn't flush properly, had to remove the tank lid and untangle the chain more than once to make it work. Dining hall booths were dirty and stained, service of the Breakfast vendor was awful, paid for a Breakfast that was not a 4 star service, only used it the first day and lost the rest of the money I paid for this extra. You could only choose 1 option (either one waffle or two eggs or one pancake + side of meat/potatoes and either a juice, a coffee or a tea). On top of it all, on the last day we received our towels in a plastic trash bag, where one of the towels was full of human hair. Only reason for giving a 2 and not a 1 is because of the front desk and housekeeping staff's customer service, they do the best they can with what they have and also have to recognize Melia guest experience staff has been actively taking care of the situation and being in contact after providing feedback of our stay at the time of check out.

Not a good experience, whilst the staff were friendly they were clearly instructed to cost cut. The hotel requires refurbishment eg poolside was missing many mosaic tiles, room furnishings of poor fitting/quality.

We gathered with a number of friends from all over to celebrate a 40th Birthday. Melia staff went out of their way to help us make the celebration memorable. Except for the rain, the day was perfect and everyone had a great time. Things could not have been easier if we were at home. Everyone was completely comfortable. It felt like home!

While we were staying here, the hotel was hosting a number of boys' football teams. They were allowed to run riot throughout the hotel, ruining our stay. One night our daughter was too scared to walk to our room alone because groups of boys were roaming the corridors. When I complained I was told they had booked most of the hotel, the implication being that other guests should just have to put up with it. Not a good attitude from the staff. Our room was clean but very shabby. The coffee machine had never been cleaned and made a disgusting smell when we tried to use it. Loud music from the pool area every night and early in the morning. Our daughter left a new sweatshirt in our room when we checked out. I contacted the hotel as soon as we got home and realised it was missing. It took them 3 days to respond to claim they hadn't found it. We have stayed in other Melia hotels which have been superb. I would not return here.

Arrived late in the evening, check in was quick and uneventful. Room was clean and comfortable, very spacious. Plenty of towels, coffee and tea for in room making, mini-frig, good TV, multiple outlets and charging ports available. Floor was not carpeted, but there was no noise factor in room or hallway. Parking area was well lit.
