I called before I booked at the hotel and spoke with the desk manager for a 1 night stay the next day. I asked her a series of questions just to ensure that everything would be fine. She informed me several times that we’d be able to arrive at the hotel early, leave our car parked in the parking lot, and be able to take their shuttle to Disney world park. After we arrived to the hotel in the morning, she informed me that we had to make a reservation with the shuttle online 24 hours in advance and she didn’t make any mention of it when I asked her multiple times on the phone the day prior and she said oh well you get the link on a handout piece of paper to make a reservation when you check in… they have a 24 hour check in and you can check in whenever you want. We had to pay for an uber to take us to the park because you can’t get on the shuttle without the reservation and they don’t do same day ones. After spending all day in the park, we get back to the hotel and get our keys to the room and only THEN did they give me the parking pass while my car had been parked all day in their lot and I had asked her on the phone and in person if I could park and she said yes, thankfully it didn’t get towed but she gave us the parking pass at 9:30pm instead of when I originally got there in the morning. Additionally there’s a lady next to the sign that says “checking in? Checking out?” and she makes you go to her (she beckoned me with her finger) and if you go up to her, she says she can’t help you and to go to the desk… she did this 2x to me, the day prior and the day after when we checked out.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Very accommodating! Loved that the resort was not too big. Good restaurant on site.

Disappointing Stay – Far Below the Melia Standard

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

I’ve stayed at Melia properties overseas and always had great experiences, but this location was nothing like them. The cleanliness was a major issue; I found stray hairs on both the toilet paper and the bedding when I arrived. To make matters worse, breakfast was a massive letdown—the omelette I ordered was completely undercooked. Finally, they charged me a $15 fee for a late check-out. I normally request this at other hotels and receive 2 to 3 extra hours completely free. Between the poor hygiene, bad food, and petty upcharging, I won't be returning.

Poor quality of room

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The room was in a bad state of repair. The blackout blinds were peppered with holes and let light through. They also had black on the back, ? mould. There were numerous big gaps between the end of the laminate floor planks causing a big tripping hazard. The drawers in the chest of drawers were poorly constructed and many drawers didn’t open. The bathroom floor and shower were grubby. Our premium room view was of a building site. Numerous staff members didn’t speak English. Our room access bands also weren’t activated on arrival, so we had to walk back to reception (in a different block) to get it sorted to be able to get into the room.
