Best stay in Charleston!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 21 hours ago

Truly an amazing experience. The best staff - not just one but ALL of the employees of the hotel we interacted with are clearly bought in to the level of service that they want to provide. Truly the best hotel stay i've ever had!

Average Stay for a Luxury Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 23 hours ago

My stay at Charleston Place was average for what I would expect from a luxury hotel. The property is definitely in need of remodeling, so I was glad to see renovations are underway. With the Four Seasons opening soon and The Cooper Hotel expected in early 2026, the refresh will be essential to remain competitive and maintain their clientele. The staff was friendly, but nothing stood out as going above and beyond to deliver a true “WOW” experience with signature Southern charm. We traveled with our dog, and I contacted the concierge for breakfast spots that allowed pets. Unfortunately, he couldn’t recommend any immediately and said he would call me back. In the meantime, I quickly found one myself using Google and confirmed it on Yelp—before his return call. While I appreciated that he did follow up, he still didn’t have a recommendation, which ultimately felt like a waste of time. Overall, for a luxury brand and the price point, I would rate this hotel as average.

We had an amazing trip to Charleston staying at The Charleston Place. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and is in a perfection location. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The staff was always extremely nice and helpful. Roosevelt was one of our favorites! Just an overall amazing experience and we will definitely be back!

First class experience for our family visit

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Exceptional in all aspects from arrival to departure. Staff could not have been more welcoming, courteous or helpful - including Lorna the concierge taking time to draw us a walking route and recommend her favourite ice cream shop. Other staff took time to share their own suggestions too throughout our stay. Bars and breakfast were fantastic, gym was really good and housekeeping was first class. We loved it and would be thrilled to return!

I traveled with my family (husband, and two children ages 2 and 4) on a Luxury Link auction package to Charleston Place in August. True good service is making travel effortless for the visitor, and Charleston Place delivered. There was no problem in bringing our children. We arrived about an hour before official check-in, but our room was ready and keys were given. Concierge had pre-printed directions to many of the sites. Finally, our Luxury Link credits for spa and dinner was automatically applied at check-out, so the check-out sheet that I received the morning of departure already had the correct amount that needed to be charged. Effortless! The Club floor included an expanded continental buffet breakfast, as well as drinks and finger foods throughout most of the day. This was very convenient and the breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres were particularly extensive. What makes Charleston Place stand out from myriad other places to stay in Charleston - many more historic or quaint or intimate - is the amenities offered. The pool with surrounding deck and kiddie pool is a very pleasant spot. The spa treatments were wonderful and very professional. Dinner at Charleston Grill was our favorite meal of the trip. The flavors were complex and fresh - this is not your typical fried and heavy Southern cuisine. I can see Charleston Place appealing to business travelers, couples needing pampering, families with older children, and yes, families with young children. All in all, a service-oriented hotel in a wonderful location with superior amenities and appealing to many different types of travelers.
