Reviews for Emeline

Great staff and the location is amazing!

Hotel staff was very nice and accommodating. Valet and bellhop services were awesome! Frankie and Mark really took good care of us. The location is perfect for staying in downtown Charleston. You don’t have to worry about parking it finding a good place to eat. You can just walk out the front doors and every great place to eat or have a drink is literally within 10 minutes walking. Definitely will stay there again when I’m visiting Charleston.

Good central location with everything needed for a fair price

The hotel was very clean and had all the necessary amenities. We did find that it was very full at the bar with bachelorette parties. We did try and park our car in the public parking lot across the street but had many issues with the app that was monitoring our parking so we moved the car to the hotel valet and had great help from Franklin and Mark. they were friendly and took care of all of our luggage and car needs. Also, we were there for Sunday morning and I didn’t really want the full brunch menu and the kitchen was very accommodating and making me just a smaller dish so we felt well taken care of.

Filthy Hotel Rooms and Poor Management Team

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Our stay at this hotel was deeply disappointing. Our initial room was in unacceptable condition; the bathroom had clearly not been cleaned - hair in the sink, hair all over the floor, and water spots across the counter. When we brought this to the front desk, we were given another room but offered no assistance in moving our belongings. Shockingly, the next day our room wasn’t serviced at all, and housekeeping falsely claimed it was due to a privacy hanger on our door, something that simply wasn’t true. When they eventually did service the room, it was done with obvious irritation and haste. Management did not take good care of us. We ended up dealing with two dirty rooms, minimal assistance, and consistently disgruntled employees. It’s clear the hotel is in between management right now, and it shows. While the design reflects thoughtful investment, the day-to-day operations have been run into the ground. Roughly 90% of the staff looked miserable, and the managers on duty seemed incapable and completely untrained in hospitality. After reading other online reviews, it’s obvious this is not an isolated experience. There were a couple of bright spots—the wait staff was friendly, and the food itself was good. Unfortunately, even this was overshadowed by poor service. The morning hostess, for example, was practically asleep at her podium. We stood directly in front of her for nearly a minute before having to wave to get her attention. When she finally acknowledged us, she acted annoyed at having to do her job. What could have been a great stay turned into a truly frustrating and disappointing experience. The dishonesty of employees was especially concerning and made us feel unsafe. Until there is a serious change in management and operations, I would highly recommend steering clear of this establishment.

Incredible service, awesome vibe.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Excellent experience. 10/10. The room was beautiful, well designed. Luxurious. The vibe at the entire hotel is incredible. The service puts it over the top. From the front desk to housekeeping to the rest of the staff. Mark, Treasure, and Jacob at the valet went above and beyond to make the stay special. Service on another level.

The hotel was incredible! Beautiful decor, clean spaces, and friendly staff all made our stay at the hotel a very positive one. Mark and Treasure were amazing at the valet stand and provided incredibly fast and friendly service. Would definitely stay here again!
