Hotel Bennett is southern charm and hospitality done perfectly! The hotel is gorgeous and everyone is so friendly. Kevin at the concierge is an absolute gem of the hotel! We were traveling with our 8 month old so wanted to enjoy the city, but with some flexibility. Kevin had all the answers! He’s a wealth of knowledge. He provided us with special guides of the best photo ops in the city with such great detail- so fun! He gave us the best tips for us to do our own walking tour of the city. And he recommend restaurants and got us reservations. Kevin makes you feel right at home and is a delight!

Our experience at the Bennett was mixed. The room we were placed in was an awful tiny shoebox with a small window facing a wall. SOOO super cramped with barely any space to walk or move. I stubbed my toe numerous times just trying to walk away from the bed. The nightable is sandwiched between the bed and a door that closes to the bathroom but the door is jammed because of the nightable in front of it. Also its so wedged in that we had to physically move the nightable out of its space to be able to use the outlet. That room gave me such a bad feeling and a terrible first impression of the hotel It also had a tiny window facing an interior courtyard and wall. Super dark.I asked to change rooms and was told there was nothing else available until the 3rd night of our 3 night stay. Lily at the front desk was amazing as was Jabhar ( night time front desk) The two of them were able to secure a change to a more spacious, brighter room but not until the 3rd night. This room was not super luxurious but it was more spacious and felt acceptable and pleasant. It also outward window facing King Street so it was bright. I was pretty shocked at the difference and to be honest anyone paying the rates for a luxury hotel should never be put in a room like our first one. Staff was inconsistent at this hotel. Lily, Jabhar, and Luke the bellman were all amazng friendly and accommodating. They were stellar and should be recognized. Luis at the desk was also super friendly and helfpul. The other night time front desk person ( I think his name was Drew) seemed annoyed ,difficult and I got the impression that the room could have been changed the second night but he just didnt want to deal with it ( It seemed pretty clear that he was over- riding his colleague who was on the verge of letting us move rooms the 2nd night.) He just seemed annoyed and not at all customer service oriented or empathetic. To be I would have felt a lot better about the hotel had they either moved our room immediately or had we never been placed in the room. The concierges were not particularly warm or helpful. I was surprised that there was no complimentary coffee offered in the looby in the morning. That is unusual and I have never seen that in a luxury hotel There were many positives- the location is amazing right on Marion Square and King Street. An easy walk to numerous restaurants, King Street shops, the market, and a nice walk to the waterfront area. The outdoor seating in front of the hotel facing Marion Square is lovely. The piazza on the 3rd floor is a great- really nice outdoor area to read, have coffee, sit and lounge. The pool on the rooftop is nice but very small and was always crowded so pretty hard to get seating. We really only wanted to use it at the end of the day to relax after being out all day. The Patisserie is great! Great breakfast and pastry options, fresh fruit, coffee, etc. So nice to have right at the hotel The gym is small but well equipped. The breakfast at Gabrielle's was delicious. Overall while there positives at this hotel the experience with the first room was my first impression and really stayed with me. Given it is supposed to be a luxury hotel that room was unacceptable especially given the rates.

Southern charm, elegance, perfect service and sheer beauty, the Bennett is regal, posh and perfect. The beds are plush, the rooms beautiful, the shower hot and huge and the smell of the soaps divine. Great King St location too!

Our stay at Hotel Bennett in Charleston was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and truly first-class. The hotel itself is stunning—beautifully designed, elegant, and perfectly located for exploring the historic city. Our room was spacious, immaculate, and incredibly comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made the stay feel luxurious and relaxing. Every staff member we encountered went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful experience. Hotel Bennett made our visit to Charleston unforgettable, and we would return without hesitation. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly outstanding place to stay. Kevin McQuade is the best concierge we have ever come across! He made our stay extra special by making reservations at several restaurants and even took us on a walking tour at night to view the beautiful gardens and homes near the Battery. His knowledge of the city is remarkable and his attention to detail is above all others.
