Reviews for Hotel Bennett Charleston

One of my favorite hotels ever

This was a great hotel with outstanding service and high attention to detail. The location is great. The rooms are spacious and the hotel is very clean. I highly recommend this as the attention to detail is high. There are also many good food options.

Great place to stay

Great service. Luxury accommodation. Breakfast in room superb. Pool on top lovely. Hotel staff very helpful. Spacious rooms . Not a giant , convention type hotel . Small enough to be a boutique . Not crowded. A member of vituoso travel agents so nice perks .

Concierge Kevin McQuade

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Kevin McQuade was the most amazing concierge! He was more passionate about the city of Charleston and infectious with his energy. I stopped by for a simple question that turned into a restructure of my entire trip. He hooked us up with some of the best spots around town and then even offered to take us on a night tour of the unknown parts of the city. At one point, he was flat on his back shooting upward with our camera so that he could get a tree in the background. He was delightful and Effervescent throughout. We are blessed to know someone operating in his sweet spot like Kevin:)

A Memorable visit.

I recently stayed at Hotel Bennett in the heart of Charleston and was blown away by its European-inspired elegance, from the sumptuous lobby to the plush guest rooms that feel like a home away from home But the real magic began weeks before we arrived, when Kevin—Hotel Bennett’s award-winning head concierge—reached out to tailor our entire itinerary, securing top-tier restaurant reservations, insider historical tours, and even a spectacular Fourth of July riverboat cruise on the Ashley .Throughout our stay, the staff’s Southern hospitality shone in every detail—spotless rooms, seamless service, and that rooftop pool (Smallish) overlooking Marion Square. If you want the ultimate Charleston experience, do yourself a favor and let Kevin and the team at Hotel Bennett curate your stay.

Beautiful design but lacking service expected of a five star hotel.

Beautiful design but lacking service expected of a five star hotel. We booked two rooms to attend a wedding over the Fourth weekend. The attendant at booking was great and welcoming. Everything went south from there. Called the concierge to set up restaurant reservations prior to arrival and never was called back. After two attempts on different days got through and was able to book reservations. Check-in went well. Room was pleasant but small and looked over the roof. Not a great view. No luggage rack in room. Rooftop pool was poorly managed. As many seats for cabanas as non cabanas. Attendants no help in getting seats or setting up chairs. One day I found a chair and watched an attendant set up two chairs for others without setting me up. Then she walked by with waters and skipped us. I lost it and asked her for water and then we got it. We went to get our own towels as she did not offer. Doormen were great in opening doors and getting car. Housekeeping was bad. No one spoke any English. Each day they showed up when we were getting ready for dinner to clean the room for the day. This was cleaning and turn down all in one. Our last day, they showed up bright and early several times only to get sent away. Little to no management. Wedding last night in ballroom. Music played till midnight. Other than that, the designer did a really nice job with the interior and finishes.
