Warm hospitality is a hallmark of the American South, and no place cultivates it as finely as The Market Pavilion Hotel. At the epicenter of downtown Charleston, South Carolina, just minutes from the waterfront and the city's grand old manors, this member of The Leading Small Hotels of the World brings elegance and finesse to its down home welcome. Elevating the atmosphere further is a tantalizing aesthetic, which pairs original artwork and mahogany furnishings with gorgeous views of the historic City Market and East Bay Street.

This place really exceeded my expectations. My girlfriend and I had been looking for a place to stay for a long weekend in Downtown Charleston and this hotel checked all the boxes. While it may not win any points for trendiness, it had everything we needed. The location is perfect, and the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. A highlight was hot coffee / juice / pastries on our floor every morning, then fresh cookies every afternoon. The style is a bit antiquated but the rooms were big and clean. Would definitely recommend.

Theresan was such a pleasure to work with, she simply exudes kindness, and was so very helpful along with Andreina, who also was very helpful and kind. The valet staff were super and patient with us as well. The rooftop bar and pool was such a great relaxing place to hang out while waiting on our room. ( I would recommend that the manager take the bar staff out of ear shot before being negative). Kinda killed the vibe for lil bit. Sorry bar staff, that was not cool for him to do. Hopefully he will take this into consideration next time. 100% would love to spend another girls weekend there again!

Market Pavilion hotel is well located, very well run, and has a few pleasant surprises. I'd recommend it if you're in Charleston. The staff are super efficient, the roof top bar is nice, rooms are spacious and plush. The bathroom even made Mrs Trip Advisor happy and that's a first. This is how hotels should be.

Booked a 2 night stay at The Market Pavilion and had a good experience but was pretty bummed to have a room that didn't have a real window or a view at all. Like it basically was a window with a wall right behind it and let in a little bit of light. It's a lovely hotel with a dark, elegant lobby- the bathrooms in the rooms are spacious and luxurious but I was super disappointed to spend as much as we did and not have a real window! The front desk girl checked to see if she could move us but they were fully booked. I then asked if we could maybe get a discount as I would honestly would have stayed somewhere else if I had known there wouldn't be a window! Having a window is honestly pretty important to me lol. She reminded me that I booked 5 days before my trip and through a third party site. But I was a little like... ok, and? lol. She said next time to call before our stay and check about the room. I just had no idea that there was even a chance of this happening, therefore i had no idea to call and check about it! So just wish they would disclose this. We didn't end up using the pool at all but it looked nice. Just know that it doesn't open until 10ish and closes at 6 pm. Beds were comfortable! Room was spacious. I ended up buying a little fan at Target because i sleep hot. Everyone was super nice, just wish they could have offered something about the window debacle.

The front office staff was great with service and very helpful. They had a nightly turn down service available. After checking out, my wife accidentally left some items in the room and before we left town, they gave us a phone call and we went back and picked them up. Grill 225 was excellent with food and service. Jhon was our waiter and he was outstanding.
