The Spectator Hotel

We spent four days at The Spectator Hotel and it is now one of our favorite hotels. We have stayed at several hotels in Charleston, and this is by far the best fit for us. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The butler service is wonderful and the breakfast, included in the daily room rate, delivered to your room or to the lounge was perfect. For breakfast, there were multiple options to fit a variety of tastes - from continental to a full meal. The rooms were nicely sized, and the bathrooms were very spacious, and included double sinks. The hotel was quiet when we visited, the beds were comfortable and the valet service was fast, though we were able to walk to most of the spots we visited.

Lovely hotel in the heart of downtown Charleston. The service was incredible. They came into the room multiple times per day. We always had towels and water. All the N.A. beverage and snacks are included in the room price. In addition, you get breakfast each morning brought to the room. Rooms and linen were exceptionally clean. The bathrooms were huge, which is a great amenity in a hotel room. In my opinion, the only thing keeping this from 5 stars is that the rooms are due for a refresh. The softgoods were a bit beat up but not enough to take away from the overall experience.

Our stay at The Spectator Hotel was absolutely amazing from start to finish. This beautiful boutique hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. One of our favorite features was the included breakfast service. Each evening, we could fill out a breakfast card, select our preferred delivery time, and hang it on our door. The next morning, a delicious breakfast was ready exactly when requested, whether we chose to enjoy it in our room or downstairs. It was such a thoughtful and convenient touch. The hotel bar was also fantastic—perfect for a cocktail before heading to dinner or for a relaxing nightcap afterward. The complimentary snacks and beverages in the room were another wonderful perk that made our stay feel extra special. A special thank you to our butler, Will, who was outstanding. He was attentive, professional, and always available to assist with anything we needed. The entire staff was gracious, kind, welcoming, and truly dedicated to providing exceptional service. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, and the hotel surprised us with a thoughtful welcome gift that made the occasion even more memorable. The location was ideal, allowing us to walk to many of the restaurants, shops, and attractions we wanted to visit throughout Charleston. We rarely needed transportation, which made exploring the city incredibly easy. We loved every aspect of our stay and would highly recommend The Spectator to anyone visiting Charleston. We can’t wait to return!

Great romantic hotel. Butler service is a nice touch and the bar has a good vibe with excellent crafted cocktails. Our butler was David. True professional.

We had the best time at the Spectator. The amenities and butler service were better than we anticipated. The whole facility was beautiful and looked brand new. We greatly enjoyed the daily breakfast and the bar! We celebrated our anniversary during our stay and the whole staff was so kind and accommodating all week. The location was also incredible. We will definitely be back!
