The Spectator Hotel

Really happy with this hotel! The room, staff, check in, bar and facilities were gorgeous! Great location and felt a special place to stay

After 50 years of marriage, not much remains that is unexpected or unexperienced. Although our ‘big celebration’ will be in Europe for the Christmas marketplaces, we decided that on our special day, we would make a celebratory trip to Charleston. Consulting ChatGPT, I selected The Spectator, based on their promises, expecting a nice high-end hotel. What I did NOT expect was personal butler service (David), who answered every question we had, delivered treats to our room and even brought breakfast in bed the next morning. Everyone from the valet to the front desk to David himself were over the top in exceeding our expectations. We would highly recommend The Spectator for those moments that you truly need to create an outstanding memory.

The hotel staff treated me like family. Exceptional service. Chuck was very informative about the area and provided me with directions on navigating the area. Daryl was exceptionally kind and made me feel special one day when he saw me after he left work to remind me to stay hydrated because it was so hot. The housekeepers were kind and very attentive and helpful. This will be my go to place when I return.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Spectator Hotel from start to finish. From the moment we checked in until our departure, the customer service was truly world-class. The entire team went above and beyond with pampering us with thoughtful amenities, offering great local recommendations, and ensuring every single need was met. The location could not be better. Almost all of Charleston’s must-see spots in the historic district are within a short walk, making exploring effortless (though you will want a car for the nearby beaches and outer sights). A special thank you to Chuck, Reid, Toby, Rose, Evelyn, Temier, and the rest of the incredible team for providing such attentive, personalized service. They all made us feel so well cared for and we can’t wait to come back!
