My wife and I went to The Spectator to celebrate her birthday and it was phenomenal. The butler service is something you won’t get anywhere else. I told him we were there for her birthday and a complementary bottle of champagne found its way to our room. They do complementary breakfast in the morning which we obviously took advantage of. The entire staff was very friendly and very helpful. The rooms were fantastic and the hotel itself is in a great location. My wife and I go to a different hotel in downtown Charleston every year for her birthday. We have stayed at some great hotels but going forward I feel like they will all be judged against the experience we had staying at The Spectator.

My wife and I had an exceptional stay at The Spectator. This elegant boutique hotel is beautifully designed, impeccably maintained, and perfectly located in the heart of Charleston. From the moment we arrived, the level of service was outstanding. The staff is warm, polished, and genuinely attentive, with the butler team providing a level of care that made our stay feel effortless and indulgent. The speakeasy-style bar is a true gem—an intimate, sophisticated space ideal for a pre-dinner cocktail or a nightcap after an evening out. Every detail was thoughtfully executed, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend The Spectator to anyone seeking a refined and luxurious stay.

Spent a few days in Charleston with my adult daughters & stayed at the Spectator Hotel. From check in to check out, it was a great experience- weekend were greeted with a welcome cocktail & a butler took us to our room & gave us an overview of hotel amenities & the area. Each morning we were greeted by our butler when he delivered breakfast to our room. The room was stocked with a beautiful variety of drinks & snacks. The hotel staff was beyond attentive, and greeted us each time we came or left. Our butler Jim, gave us great suggestions for restaurants & things to do. The hotel & it's amenities, along with the location, were top notch. We felt cared for during our entire stay, and all agreed it was our best hotel experience ever.

My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting the Spectator Hotel January 10-15 and I cannot wait until we can visit again. From the time of booking and asking details about the area before hand, to every single detail of the stay, the service we received was impeccable. The moment we arrived, the valet greeted us promptly and wouldn't even let us remove our bags, he reassured us that he would get them all and directed us towards the front desk where we were warmly greeted. All of the butlers were exceptional and warm and eager to help with dinner suggestions, places to visit, general knowledge of the area or even simply a cup of tea or a garment steamed as we were there for a family wedding. The housekeeper was simply the sweetest lady and I loved getting to know her and seeing her bright smile everyday. I truly hope that the management recognizes the amazing staff that they have in this establishment because every single person was truly exceptional and went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible stay imaginable. My sister in law met us one day, as she was staying in a VRBO nearby and she rode a bike to the hotel, they even were willing to lock up her bike for her while we went to lunch together. What an amazing place! I can't even single out one staff member because everyone was fabulous.

My wife and I stayed at The Spectator for three nights and it exceeded all of our expectations. The staff was very welcoming, the room was amazing, and the location is within easy walking distance of many attractions. Our butler Darryl brought breakfast to our room each morning, and his smile started the day off perfectly. The Charleston Market is across the street and there are plenty of good food options nearby. Each night we would return to our room to find a nightcap chocolate cup waiting for us. Our room had a huge shower AND a deep tub for soaking after a long day or walking. The bed was very comfortable. We also visited the bar and the food and drinks were delicious. It was a very chill vibe. Worth every penny.
