The staff is superb and the top reason to stay at the Ballantyne Hotel. Jeffrey Barbour (front staff), Iza, Cara (main bar) Debbie (front desk) and Brittany (director of pool services) provide exceptional service and truly care for your wellbeing. During our past few stays, it is always comforting to see their friendly and hospitable staff. They make you feel welcome and go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The rooms are modern, amazingly comfortable, elegant and full of small priceless amenities like beverages, wine, mixed nuts and water bottles. We visit our eldest daughter in Charlotte and always stay at the Ballantyne. Thank you for the uncompromising and elegant stay with the most amazing staff. And thank you to Claudia Long who is helping plan our daughter’s upcoming wedding in September. She is a dream to work with!

Absolutely loved Jeffrey Barbour and all associated employees that we met! My mother and I loved getting to see Jeffrey greet us with a smile and a very personable presence every time that we left and arrived back during our stay. Wonderful staff and experience!

BEWARE!! We were here for a five night stay and on our last night our car along with MANY others got broken into. The front desk was absolutely no help. Manager said he this had never happened before. The officer who did the report said it’s a common occurrence there. They didn’t make guests aware at all. A simple sign at desk that reminds guest to lock doors and remove valuables would’ve been nice. Upon check out we were not notified of the incident. Only when we went out to our vehicle we noticed glass all over the parking lot and unfortunately our car was one of the targeted vehicles. Absolutely nothing was done by the hotel to help. I will never return based on how poorly the situation was handled. Still no one has reached out to check on us and apologize for the huge inconvenience.

*I’m sharing my experience after being challenged by the manager to “go ahead” and leave a negative review* I stayed at The Ballantyne last night (6/12/25), expecting luxury and security. Instead, my car, along with at least 18 others, was broken into in one night on their property, while 2 off-duty cops were allegedly providing overnight security for $75/hour. This wasn’t a random one-off single-car break-in. It felt organized, coordinated, and honestly, it reeks of an inside job. Nearly 20 cars had their windows shattered in a small, open-air parking lot, and none of the hired security heard or saw a thing? Come on. However, the worst part of my experience was The Ballantyne’s cold and robotic response. No compassion or concern for guest safety. I asked for a simple one-night refund to help cover the costs incurred by this event while on Ballantyne property, including window repair, cleaning fees, and stolen items (including fine gold and diamond jewelry). To be clear again, I was not asking them to pay for any of the damages incurred on their property and under their surveillance, just to simply refund one-night of my stay. I found this extremely reasonable, but they refused and doubled-down multiple times, hiding behind a “not our responsibility” policy for the parking lot (yet this is the same parking lot they hire security to monitor overnight?). So they’ll sell you the illusion of security, charge you top dollar, and then abandon you the second something goes wrong. Horrible customer service, zero accountability, and absolutely not worth the risk. They love to throw around the word “luxury” in their branding, but this experience was quite the opposite of luxurious. There are many better, safer, & more customer-service focused hotels in Charlotte where you can stay instead. Avoid this place.

This is a beautiful hotel with quality, well-trained staff. Evan, at the front desk, was especially helpful at check-in. The room was large and felt sumptuous - one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Thought we would hang by the pool and read but it is overrun with kids. But hotel is gorgeous - I will absolutely stay here again.
