In a destination as dreamy as they come, Shanti Maurice, A Nira Resort makes the island of Mauritius even more enchanting. The property itself is 36 acres, situated between sugarcane fields and powder-soft white sand beach, with the brilliant blue waters of the Indian Ocean stretching as far as the eye can see. In a place as sublime and exotic as this, Shanti Maurice is a perfect haven, providing the kind of quality and comfort that such a spectacular vacation deserves. When it comes to your accommodations, there are no rooms here - only suites and villas, of course, and every one is magazine-spread worthy. All face the ocean, with floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors to bring the bright outdoors in. Furthering the integration with nature, large balconies or patios and stone-lined outdoor rain showers add elements of pleasure and ideal places to relax in peace and private. Despite your far-flung locale, you will be ever still connected with internet access, DVD players, and high definition televisions throughout. Whether you choose to shut off connection to the outside world, or relish in some free time and entertainment, Shanti Maurice is ready to help you do it all in style.

This is one of the most amazing property in terms of location, views, sea, atmosphere and landscape. But never ever visit the same if you are Indian. The lower management staff is unbelievably racist towards Indians. they will not do your chores, your request, will give snarky comments, not follow what you ask and will be scolding you for even asking drinking water. Not just that they will not do your room service, your Concierge will not reply nor revert to you and forget everything they won't even provide you Buggy for travelling within resort because you are Indian.

A name that tells you everything about the hotel. I usually love using metaphors, but this time I genuinely struggled to find one grand enough. The experience exceeded our expectations to such an extent that the only comparison that comes to mind is discovering a pearl of such rare beauty and quality that you never imagined could even exist. So, let’s start from the beginning. 1. Shanti — in Hindi, it means “peace,” and that is exactly how your journey here begins. The moment you step into the reception area, with koi carp gliding through the ponds, warm smiles from the staff, and panoramic views of the ocean—wild and untamed in the distance, yet perfectly calm by the shore—you suddenly reconnect with a feeling you may have forgotten existed: absolute serenity. I imagine this is what paradise must feel like: a place where every worry and responsibility simply fades away. 🙌 2. Maurice — the cultural soul of this extraordinary place. The architecture, the cuisine, the musicians, the evening events, even the little stories left for you after turndown service each night—all of it draws you deeper into the spirit of the island. You don’t feel like a tourist here; you feel invited to become part of the culture, part of the people, if you are willing to embrace it. 3. Resort — a word modern hoteliers have diluted so much that its true meaning is often forgotten. A resort is not merely a hotel with a large territory. A resort is an entire world you are invited to disappear into. And this place understands that perfectly. Vast grounds with walking trails, endless green lawns, a man-made lake with snow-white ducks, its own garden, a pristine white beach framed by dramatic black volcanic rocks, breathtaking tropical vegetation, and the constant sound of birdsong—together, they create an atmosphere that may exist in fragments elsewhere, but comes together in harmony only here. 4. Spa. The atmosphere is exceptional, the range of treatments impressively extensive, with multi-day wellness programmes, yoga, a gym… and yet, surprisingly, some disappointment with the massage itself. Perhaps we are simply demanding guests, or perhaps we were unlucky with our therapist, but this is undoubtedly an area where this wonderful place still has room to grow. 5. And finally, I have to mention the gastronomic experiences this little paradise gave us. Exceptional breakfasts (not about great delicious food only, this is like kind of arts), several restaurants, and four different cuisines executed to an impressively high standard. Not everything was flawless—but every shortcoming was transformed thanks to an extraordinary professional: the Culinary Director Kevin Marchetti. A man who speaks six languages and possesses the rare gift of making people feel genuinely cared for. From day one, he stood out—not only because of his towering presence, but because he moved from table to table speaking to guests in their native languages. When we mentioned a slight disappointment with the seafood dinner in the mid-stay survey, he personally sought us out and did absolutely everything possible not only to correct the issue, but to turn the entire experience into one of overwhelmingly positive emotions. I’ll end with a phrase that may sound simple, but fits this hotel perfectly: you’ll never truly understand it until you experience it yourself. I sincerely encourage everyone to spend at least a few days here and form their own impression. As for us, we will certainly do our very best to return again one day. ❤️🔥
