Leela Palace is located on the mouth of the Adyar river. The backwaters fill the space between LP and the beach. I chose this location specially for the view of the sea. I took my aged parents for a short stay to give them a glimpse of luxury. They have several mobility constraints and cannot make any outstation trips by any mode. They cannot visit the beaches in Chennai too. Being a resident of Chennai, I thought this was the best option to get them on a trip out of home. They enjoyed the ambience. Food was excellent. They were offered a house tour on wheel chair to view the different facilities, the art work on display, the large swimming pool on the third floor, the Chess garden on the ground floor. They also got to hear some traditional music - called a ritual that takes place every evening with a water body as a foreground setting. There was an assigned personal attention to take care of all needs and finer details so that the stay is enjoyable. Everyone was very courteous and friendly. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.
