Great Oak Manor

We had an outstanding stay at the Great Oak Manor. The property is extremely beautiful, relaxing, historic and romantic. The home and I do mean home is located on several lush green acres on a beach by the sea. Each room is uniquely designed. Our room was extremely large with a fireplace, couch and sun lit views of the outside of the house. We could see the sunrise and sunset. The Manor is absolutely spotless from top to bottom. The owner, general manager, staff and chef were extremely accommodating to our each and every need. Breakfast was delicious each and every morning. Fresh cut red roses adorned every table. We were able to select the gourmet meals that we wanted for dinner each night. The beds are truly heavenly to sleep in. There were even convenient electronic charging stations for my Chevy Silverado E to recharge. We enjoyed several restaurants in Chestertown and received a tour by the owner himself. Smooth music sets the mood in different areas of the house. A library, board games, full stocked bar and adult vending machine stocked with wine. Each night fire logs were placed by the fire pit and we enjoyed a roaring fire by the sea with our own R&B playlist. They even have a smores kit with marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate already prepared. I plan to visit the Great Oak Manor every year, hopefully with my friends and other couples to connect and recharge. You can feel strong positive energy and vibes from this family owned establishment where as guests we felt like our enjoyment and comfort was every member of the staff's only priority. Can't stop thinking about our next stay next year and who we can bring to share this place of true peace and tranquility. We would highly recommend that you stay at the Great Oak Manor for your next respite from the worries and stressors of life.

This was our third stay at Great Oak Manor. Once again, the place (with its beautiful new lounge areas and luxurious room/suite appointments), the setting and the staff (who bring it all together!!) provided an extraordinary and unforgettable experience. Our thanks to Corinne, Werten and ALL the staff for making our stay so perfect. We truly look forward to the opportunity of a future fourth stay at Great Oak!

I have been attending a women's retreat at Great Oak Manor for the past four years. Every time I step into the front foyer, I feel like I can exhale. The calming, relaxing and inviting environment makes me immediately relax and feel at home. I am welcoming by exceptional staff into an exceptionally luxurious hotel. The food is exquisite and catered to my individual needs. The rooms are spacious, well adorned, and super comfy. The communal gathering spots are warm and inviting. If you've never visited, you MUST. I promise you will not regret it!

This was our first visit to Great Oak Manor and we absolutely loved it! Starting with our phone call for a reservation with Corrine (who was lovely) to our arrival and weekend stay, we could not have felt more welcomed. Corrine, young Werten and Calin made us feel at home, and Mr. Werten (owner) was a pleasure to talk to. The morning breakfasts were delicious and the bar offers a wonderful way to ease into the evening. The grounds are lovely and the views of the Chesapeake Bay are terrific. We look forward to our next visit!

We have stayed in almost 100 historic inns from Maine to Florida over our 55 year marriage. Most recently we spent a wonderful, winter weekend at Great Oak Manor in Chestertown, MD. The gorgeous setting, the many cozy places to sit and read, the delicious food, the exceptional service and warm welcoming staff made this our new favorite. This is the inn we've been looking for 55 years. We will definitely be back!
