We stayed here for three nights as part of a group tour with Mercury. We had a room on the 12th floor. The room itself was very spacious and clean. Furnishings however, particularly the black out curtains which were ripped and the fabric effected by the sun - clearly these are very old and should be changed. The bed was comfortable and pillows okay. The bathroom was also spacious, if a little on the dated side. The toiletries were very nice. The breakfast was plentiful and lots of choice. Although at particular times it is difficult to get a table. It was very cold in the restaurant. We also had the buffet there one night and the food was delicous. Another night we had a burger and fries - the burger was okay. The pool area has netting over the top to stop birds, it felt very enclosed and as it was so hot out we did not stay there. All in all a good stay and would stay again if we ever come here again.

The hotel is not in the centre, so you must use your car, or call a Bolt or Grab to go there. It is a big hotel, old style (carpets on the corridors, old style furniture), but well maintained. Huge room!, with vey nice river view. Good bed, we had a very nice sleep. Renovated bathroom, with regular personal amenities (but good quality bath amenities). A bit disapointing breakfast, with some items let run out at peak hour and taking too long for the staff to refill. The hotel was very clean, all over. The fastest and smoothest check-out i ever had.

In January 2026, I spent 5 nights at the Centara Riverside Chiang Mai Hotel. I had stayed there pre-COVID when the property was a Holiday Inn brand. Centara took over 3 years ago, cleaned & refurbished, especially the common spaces. This is a large high rise hotel with 5 fast elevators and 25 floors. I never had to wait more than three minutes. The sunset views of the mountains & river are a bonus. The Ping Riverfront location across the bridge from the Old City part of Chiang Mai, is easy to get a rideshare or Taxi & the hotel always has bellmen present to assist guests. I usually stay in the Marriott brand, but the former Le Meridian, now Marriott, is located steps from the Night Market noise & Old City Traffic. The Centara Riverside is older, but my 21st floor room with a view was immaculate & huge. The bathroom had a tub & a shower. And the shower was the best I’ve had in weeks. I booked through Agoda. My room rate with the huge international breakfast buffet, including made to order eggs, was less than half of the Marriott’s for the same time period. On this trip, I was visiting friends in three different areas of Chiang Mai. The first day, I took a grab to my favorite temple in the old city, Wat Chang Mun. From the Centara Riverside, I had no problem, seeing friends out past the airport & on Nimmon. I dined with friends, two nights at restaurants along the Ping River 7 minutes from the hotel. This location works. There is a 7/11, a good hospital & a pharmacy across the street. Starbucks has a cafe in the lobby & there are neighborhood eateries too. I would stay at the Centara Riverside Chiang Mai again in a heartbeat.

Lovely hotel, great for conferences. Convenient to the airport, not far from the walled city, on the banks of the Ping River. Helpful staff, big rooms, clean with many conveniences. Good meals in dining room and bar. Many local shops and eating places on the street nearby.

Hotel was a bit tired and needed a refurb although perfectly clean. Exterior work going on so there was a net canopy over the swimming pool to catch paint and debris . Location a little bit far from centre but short taxi ride. Staff however were great and in particular Assistant Reception Manager who sorted out our problrm on arrival when the travel agent hadn't paid for our room. Customer service 5 stars.
