We love staying at the Drake! The employees are always so friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is gorgeous, and we love feeling so steeped in history. The location is the perfect start for a stroll or shopping excursion down the Magnificent Mile.

The Drake hotel is absolutely jaw dropping gorgeous! Our room was quite large with 2 full bathrooms- a great perk for our family of 3. We felt like we were minutes from everywhere we wanted to go on our trip! Special thanks to Joey for the quick but fascinating history lesson and Chris was asked if he could take a family picture for us!

A Stay that Exceeded Expectations!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

My two children (18 year old senior in highs school and 20 yr old Purdue student) and I stayed in a family suite at The Drake over the weekend and had an absolute amazing stay! The Bellman Chris greeted us immediately upon our welcome and helped us load our baggage on the cart. Chris was kind, funny and very responsive! We loved our huge suite, the wonderful floral smell coming from the beautiful flower arrangement in the lobby and the quaint hotel decor! The Drake was breathtaking. When my kids and I went to dinner that evening, I encountered a problem with the Uber ride I had booked and Chris sprang into action. He immediately called us a Taxi so we wouldn't miss our reservation. My kids had never seen a bellman whistle with such vigor! We made our Gibsons steakhouse dinner just fine as a result! The next morning, I woke up early and headed to Lavazza coffee shop. I was warmly greeted by Latarsha and spent almost 3 hours just reading, watching my Hulu show and munching on a delicious hazelnut croissant while enjoying fresh hot coffee by Latarsha each time! She literally made my morning. After my kiddos woke up, we had breakfast at Cafe on Oak. It was also amazing! I hardly ever write reviews, but I was compelled to this time after such an amazing stay and can't wait to stay at the Drake again! Special thanks to Chris and Latarsha for making our stay extra enjoyable!

Very disappointing and will not return

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

They lost two deliveries and each time, the manager blamed the delivery service. The bathtub shower drain was basically clogged. It took 4 phone calls over two days to get someone to bring 2 robes (that should have been in the room) and 2 more sets of towels (only two were provided). The TV was awful, it was slow and would change channels by itself so it was impossible to try to watch any show. The heat in the room worked but air conditioning did not which made trying to sleep the last night uncomfortable. However, the worst part was interacting with the night manager who seemed to value being right over providing any sort of customer service/satisfaction. Overall very disappointing and will pick a different hotel during our next stay in Chicago.
