Fairmont Chicago’s new design catapulted it to the top of hotel options in The Loop, Chicago’s business and theater district that’s home to many of the city’s cultural attractions. Past an opulent gold-hued lobby awaits a collection of guest rooms dressed in a natural color palette of cream, chocolate and mossy green highlighted by a bold floral print from Warwick Orme. Marble baths come with a separate rainfall shower and soaking tub, and for further relaxation, the spa offers couples’ soaks in a sumptuous suite.

As a hotel Sale Manager and 34 years experienced hotelier, I can say that my experience was exceptional from start to finish. The attention to detail and genuine commitment to guest satisfaction was observed in every hotel employee. The entire staff of their Gold Lounge is so accommodating that they are continuously exceeding your expectations. Thanks to Jesus, Mandana, Tamara and Alex for making my stay so special and for being so thoughtful in every moment. The team greeted guests each day with warm smiles and calling me by my name making me feel special recognized. Ms. Walker, the Chief Concierge is exceptional and I highly value how she managed all of my special requests; (she surely earned her 2 keys). Kevin and Jansen at the Front Desk handle every request with high professionalism and empathy. Hospitality goes beyond great guest service, and this team really nailed it.

Good downtown hotel, with easy access to the river area and related shops and dining. Rooms were clean and spacious and we never had to wait for an elevator even at high traffic times. The lobby bar has a few breakfast options that are better values than the onsite restaurant.

We stayed 3 nights with my kids. The room is big and also old but well maintained. It was clean but could be better. During our stay, the staff was helpfull. Good location. I'd say the biggest disappointment is the breakfast, which is practically nonexistent. They sell you a $33 voucher that you can use at the restaurant to get the breakfast buffet. Except that I've never had such a bad breakfast—even at a two-star hotel, the food is better. So, don't take eat and go away for the breakfast.

It is all too rare so even more notable when a stranger goes out of their way to make you feel appreciated. Gail Walker, Concierge at the Fairmont Hotel in Chicago is one of those people. Every friend was once a stranger. I am delighted to have a new friend. Fairmont, Chicago, nicely done. Thank you, Gail. The Fairmont is now top of my list where to stay.
